Nowadays Gynaecology OPD is full of cervical erosion patients, due to symptoms present in erosion are very much annoying. Erosion is the replacement of the stratified squamous epithelium of the ectocervix by the columnar epithelium of endocervix. The cervical erosion can be correlated with Karnini Yonivyapad. The case of cervical erosion was taken to evaluate the effect of Agnikarma with Swarna Shalaka. Present case study was undertaken in the OPD of Stree Roga and Prasuti Tantra Department L.N. Ayurved College and Hospital Bhopal, M.P. One sitting was given after 7th day of menstruation and the patients were fol-lowed up for two months. The effect of therapy was assessed on the basis of relief in signs and symptoms. The result shows that Agnikarma is an effective procedure for the management of cervical erosion, and Swarna Shalaka is a convenient medium having high efficacy in reliving the symptoms of erosion. So, this may be positively helpful in treating the cervical erosion.

Karnini yonivyapad is one of the gynaecological disorders described in Ayurveda under the umbrella of the Yonivyapad. According to the signs and symptoms, it is more nearer to the benign lesion cervical erosion, which occurs due to the replacement of the stratified squamous epithelium of the portio-vaginalis by the columnar epithelium of endocervix. The treatment is designed to destruct the columnar epithelium by any method and to promote the re-epithelization of the squamous tissues. Keeping this point in view, the present clinical trial is taken up with the aim of clinical evaluation of efficacy of Kusthadi churna with Udumbaradi taila in the management of Karnini yonivyapad (cervical erosion). Kusthadi churna along with Yonipichu with Udumbaradi taila group-A, and group-B only Udumbaradi taila yonipichu, and results were assessed on the basis of the epithelization of erosion and improvement in the symptoms. The study reveals that the mixed therapy group showed better results than the group of single drug.

Background. Oral fibromas are benign, asymptomatic, smooth surfaced, firm structured tumoral lesions that originate from gingival connective tissue or periodontal ligament. Histologically, they are nodular masses characterized by a dense connective tissue, surrounded by stratified squamous epithelium.Case Report. This case report includes the clinical, radiographical, and histological findings and periodontal treatment of a 38-year-old female patient having painless swelling on the gingiva. Intraoral examination revealed a fibrotic, sessile, smooth surfaced gingival overgrowth interdentally between the teeth #13 and #14. Radiographical findings were normal. Initial periodontal treatment (IPT) was applied including oral hygiene instructions, scaling, and root planing. Following IPT, the lesion (0.7 × 0.6 × 0.4 cm) was excised and examined histopathologically. Subsequently, flap operation was performed to have an access to alveolar bone. Surgical site was reconstructed with free gingival graft obtained from hard palate. Hematoxylin-eosin stained sections revealed a nodular mass composed by dense collagen fibers in lamina propria covered by a stratified squamous epithelium, which were consistent with fibroma. Gingival healing was uneventful and without any recurrence during the 12-month follow-up.Conclusions. In order to achieve optimal functional and aesthetical outcomes, free gingival graft can be used for the reconstruction of the wound site after the excision of the fibroma.

Calcific metamorphosis teeth are a great challenge to the clinician. Its diagnosis and treatment procedures are of utmost importance in providing the best treatment. Understanding the mechanism behind the discoloration of teeth is the key to get the best treatment. Internal bleaching is one conservative treatment for complete calcific metamorphosis in certain conditions, where signs and symptoms of periapicalpathosis are absent. The present paper involves a case study of 36 years old Saudi woman who faced an injury 20 years ago and presented with yellow discoloration. The patient was thoroughly informed regarding the case; all the plan options were discussed with her prior implementation. Treatment plan comprised of internal bleaching without any endodontic root canal treatment. Vital bleaching is comparatively expensive and was not chosen since the patient had financial issues. The internal bleaching proved a more economic option for her. The patient signed an informed consent form after considering all the details of the procedure.

Radicular cyst is the most common inflammatory cyst of jaw. It arises from the epithelial residues in the periodontal ligaments as a result of pulp infection. Histopathologically radicular cyst lining reveals stratified squamous epithelium with arcade like pattern in early cases or quiescent epithelial lining in long standing cases. The wall of the radicular cyst is fibrous with mixed inflammatory cells infiltrate like neutrophils, plasma cells, lymphocytes and macrophages. There are very few reported cases of juxtaepithelial hyalinization of radicular cyst. Here we report a case of radicular cyst of a 28 year old male who presented with pus discharge from anterior right maxillary region. The cyst was associated with atrophic and tenuous epithelial lining with juxtaepithelial hyalinization along with focal Russell bodies. These findings are uncommoncoeval features of radicular cyst.

AbstractLateral periodontal cysts (LPCs) are developmental in origin and are typically seen in the canine-premolar area in the mandible and less commonly in the maxilla. Reported rate of incidence of LPCs is less than 1%, and LPCs represent only 0.8% of entire central cysts of the maxillary bone. Despite its unique clinical and radiological presentation, it is finally diagnosed due to its unique histological characteristics. Here, we present one case with characteristic findings. The routine hematoxylin and eosin–stained sections revealed reduced enamel epithelium-like cystic lining that is made of thin, nonkeratinized stratified squamous epithelium along with some epithelial plaques. The clinical-radio-pathological correlation affirmed the diagnosis of LPC. The pathogenesis of LPC has been discussed.

A 45-year-old man visited our clinic with a painless swelling of the left scrotum and an ulcer as chief complaints. A hard and indurated mass was palpable with ulcerating foci that were proximal and distal, measuring 3 × 2 cm and 2 × 1 cm respectively and about 2 cm apart. Laboratory data were normal except for an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and white blood cell (WBC) differential showed neutropenia and lymphocytosis. A diagnosis of left testicular tumor was made and the patient had a left orchidectomy with fistulectomy. Histopathology results showed a stratified squamous epithelium with tuberculous granuloma and necrotic caseation. Patient is currently on anti-tubercular medication. The rarity of this condition makes these findings important to report.

Bronchial asthma is a heterogenous disease with reciprocity between genetic and environmental factors. The different triggering factors increase the frequency and severity of breathing difficulty attacks. The use of modern medicines is restricted due to its various local as well systemic side effects. The clinical picture of bronchial asthma can be correlated with Tamakashwas as explained in Ayurveda. In the present case study, a 24 years old female patient having signs and symptoms of Tamakashwas has been discussed. The treatment was administered in accordance with Shodhana Chikitsa, Shamana Aushadhis and Sthanika Chikitsa. Nidana Parivarjana is strictly instructed in order to avoid the stimulation to internal pathology of the disease. The classical management helps in relieving the symptoms as well as lowers the recurrence of the breathing difficulty attacks. Regular counselling and practice of Parnayama contributes in boosting and refreshing her mind. The assessment was done by using the gradation scale which was adopted from de-veloping guidelines for clinical research methodology in Ayurveda. This Ayurvedic management helps in achieving the positive output with complete stoppage of use of inhaler over a period of 6 months.

In the present case study we are reporting a case of thoracoomphalopagus conjoined twins. A 24 years old gravida two para 0+1 carrying thoracoomphalopagus conjoined twins was diagnosed by ultrasonography at early second trimester with single placenta attached posteriorly and low lying. The mortality and morbidity of conjoined twins are high so making the early diagnosis with ultrasonographic examination provides the parents a chance to elect for pregnancy termination.

When the shape, structure, and/or function of one of the parts of the components of the stomatognathic system change, structural and physiological changes also occur to absorb or compensate the consequent loads. Hence, an insightful rehabilitation of this type of patient involves essential procedures, such as: correct orientation of the occlusal plane, determination of the vertical dimension of occlusion, and a stable and healthy maxillomandibular relationship, since the nonobservance of these aspects may result in prosthodontic rehabilitation failure. The objective of the present case study is to report the preoperative planning and prosthodontic rehabilitation of an edentulous patient with severe maxillary atrophy and signs and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders. The patient underwent flat occlusal plane splint therapy to reestablish the condyle-fossa and maxillomandibular relationships and muscle activity, followed by prosthodontic rehabilitation with implant-supported complete dentures. The maxillomandibular relationship was determined by the intraoral tracing technique, with a 24-month follow-up.
