The paper investigates individual psychological features of self-regulation in people with personality disorders and accentuated personality traits. Our goal is to specify the data on regulation disorders taking into account the nature of committed offences so as to substantiate the validity of expert conclusions, promote individualization in punishment, and build models for secondary psychological prevention. We survey 134 men including 94 individuals with personality disorders, 20 individuals with accentuated personality traits and 20 individuals without mental disorders. We use a set of methodological tools to assess the extent of self-control deficiency); the set includes J. Kagan’s Matching Familiar Figures Test, situation analysis, a new questionnaire for tolerance toward uncertainty, J. Stroop’s Color and Word Test, behavioral self-regulation style. We carry out statistical processing of the data with the help of descriptive statistics method, frequency analysis, an independent samples t-test, the Mann–Whitney U-test, and the Kruskal-Wallis test to compare three independent samples. We have found out that regulation disorders in people with personality disorders who committed violent crimes are associated with the ability to predict the consequences adequately and find socially acceptable ways to resolve problem situations. We show that when an individual has to deal with information shortage, contradictory information, perceptual interference or increased emotional intensity of the situation the probability of disorders in their conscious regulation of behavior increases significantly. Accordingly, to address the tasks of penal science and practice, we consider it expedient to use the indicators identified in the course of our present research, because they can be not only predictors of behavioral dysregulation and aggressive responses, but also targets for psychological therapy. The results of a comprehensive psychological and psychophysiological study of the characteristics of mental self-regulation in the simulation of various stressful situations in the specialists of extreme profile on the example of servicemen were described in the article. The integrated protocol of the study by the method of biofeedback with consideration of various indices of the central and autonomic nervous system under conditions of stress stimulation was developed. The set of psychological questionnaires was used to diagnose psychological features of self-regulation: questionnaire of self-control H. Grasmik, questionnaire "Style of self-regulation of behavior" by V. I. Morosanova, the questionnaire BIS/BAS, the questionnaire formal - dynamic properties of individuality by V. M. Rusalov, personal questionnaire of the G. and S. Eysenck EPQ, the scale of anxiety Charles D. Spielberger. Statistical method of clustering by the k-means method, single-factor analysis of variance, multiple regression analysis were applied. Psychological and psychophysiological differences between mentally disadaptive and adaptive groups are described, as well as predictors of mental disadaptation for military personnel are identified. It was found that mental disadaptation among servicemen is characterized by a preference for simple tasks in the structure of self-control and a high level of reactive situational anxiety, reduced programming and evaluation indicators, psychomotor erbiness, intellectual speed, indices of psychomotor activity and general adaptivity. The psychophysiological profile of maladaptation differs from the normative indices with elevated indices of subcortical alpha and theta rhythms in the initial background, as well as an increased index of vegetative balance and a reduced index of activation of subcortical centers in the stress sample. Psychophysiological predicators of disadaptation were established.

Aim. The aim of the paper is to present the results of research on the types of emotional self-regulation of women who have suffered from psychological abuse in family relations. Methods. 140 Ukrainian women who suffered from psychological abuse in the family were interviewed. For the analysis of the obtained results, methods of statistical processing of data were used. Results. It has been established that women who were victims of psychological abuse from members of their family may have different types of emotional self-regulation: "Emotionally unstable," "Adaptive," "Spontaneous." It is shown that women with emotionally unstable types of emotional self-regulation are emotionally unstable during psychological abuse in the family, which is manifested in their anxiety, tension, depression, self-criticism. It is said that women who are referred to as having the adaptive type of emotional self-regulation possess a sufficient level of neuropsychic stability and self-control and it has been established that women who are characterized by a spontaneous type of emotional self-regulation, when exposed to psychological abuse, have a low level of self-control, which indicates spontaneity and impulsivity in relationships with others. Conclusions. Еmotional self-regulation does not act as a tool to cancel negative experiences, but it is a change in these experiences for other that helps to optimize their condition. Еmotional self-regulation and the ability to manage one's own psychical state for the preservation of mental health are important in the context of psychological abuse in the family. Furthermore, it is emphasised on different types of emotional self-regulation of women in situations of psychological abuse in the family.

Background. The relevance of the study is associated with the need to increase the effectiveness of measures to prevent the development of mental disorders in law enforcement officers and to form a stable psychological adaptation to high-intensity stressors when working in extreme conditions. Aim. The paper aims to evaluate the adaptability of people of extreme jobs with different indicators of regulatory systems during stress modeling. Materials and methods. 158 male officers of law enforcement agencies aged from 18 to 49 years with various types of professional activity were examined: 1) security profile – 24 employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia; 2) sensory-motor/sensory-gnostic profile – 92 males of military contract service of the Armed forces of Russia; 3) team profile – 42 officers of the Armed forces of Russia. The use of biofeedback data allowed to evaluate the indicators of regulatory systems in the initial functional state and during stress modeling. The study of individual psychological features was conducted using a battery of psychological tests. Results. Individual psychological features of professional reliability in law enforcement officers with high, medium and low indicators of regulatory systems during stress modeling were determined. It was revealed that individuals with exhausted regulatory systems were characterized by a low autonomy of regulatory processes, difficulties in goals setting, an expanded sphere of saving emotions, and low activation of behavior aimed at pleasure seeking. Conclusion. Empirical data confirmed the feasibility of creating a method for comprehensive psychological, neurobiological and psychovegetative diagnostics of self-control and self-regulation, which allows expanding the existing arsenal of predictive tools for evaluating behavioral responses in people of extreme jobs that require high mental reserves and neuropsychological stability. Taking into account the individual psychological features of law enforcement officers with different activity of regulatory systems is considered as essential for the creation of individualized preventive and rehabilitation programs.

The article presents the results of the study of the volitional sphere of employees of the internal Affairs bodies. With the help of comparative analysis the distinctive psychological features of volitional regulation of cadets and students studying in educational institutions of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia of open and closed types are revealed. The authors for the first time presented the characteristics of two types of educational institutions of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia (open and closed), influencing the features of the development of the volitional sphere of students. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that when comparing the data of self-assessments of volitional qualities, the identity of the rank structure of volitional qualities in the tested educational organizations of open and closed types is found. When comparing the results obtained by using the method of the scale of control over the action of Kulya, it is revealed that orientation to the state (self — control) during realization of intention in action is stronger developed at cadets (listeners) of the educational organization of open type of training, and orientation to action (self-regulation) - at subjects of the educational organization of the closed type of training.

The relationship between individual psychological and individually-typological characteristics of patients with personality disorders who committed socially dangerous acts were studied, taking into account the severity of the organic factor and the degree of their social dangerousness. 121 males were surveyed, 70 of them were diagnosed with "organic personality disorder" and 33 - personality disorder. The types of personality disorders were diagnosed. The individual variables, the ratio of processes of system activation of behavior and its inhibition, protective styles, especially coping behaviours that constitute aggression, styles of self-regulation were analyzed. It was revealed that low settings of the system activation behavior found in the group of persons with a high degree of social dangerousness, determines the formation of individual psychological treats related to the rigidity behavior, the instability of the motives, impulsivity, negative emotionality, disinhibition. During comparison of samples of individuals with medium and high degree of social dangerousness it has been discovered that self-centeredness, as a component of self-control, high levels of affective components of aggression – anger and immature defense mechanisms significantly distinguish individuals with a high degree of public danger.

Delay of gratification (DoG) and delay discounting (DD) are behavioral measures of self-regulation and impulsivity. Whereas DoG refers to the postponement of gratification, DD involves the devaluation of a reward over time. Previous studies have demonstrated associations between paternal self-control, paternal personality traits, parenting styles, maternal intelligence, and children’s self-regulation. The present study explored intergenerational links between mothers’ and child’s self-regulation and maternal antecedents of children’s DoG. We analyzed 267 mother-child dyads in the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) Children’s Study. Measures included an experiment using gummy bears as rewards to assess DoG in children and monetary choice procedures to assess DD in mothers. Additionally, cognitive abilities and personality traits of mothers and children were assessed. The main result was that the children’s age and breastfeeding were significant predictors of DoG in children, even when we controlled for other influences such as maternal cognitive abilities and personality traits. We explain the result in the context of previous findings concerning attachment security, bonding, maternal sensitivity, children’s self-regulation of energy intake, neuroscientific evidence, and breastfeeding. Further studies should use equivalent measures of DoG in children and parents to further explore this link between breastfeeding and DoG in a genetically sensitive design.

Numerous studies show that smartphone addiction has a detrimental effect on many important aspects of modern life. The purpose of this article is an analytical review of foreign studies on the relationship between smartphone addiction and psychological states and personality traits. The adverse effects of excessive use of smartphones for physical and mental health were found in the form of depression, anxiety, stress, negative emotions, insomnia, poor sleep quality, and low physical activity. Excessive smartphone use predicts low self-regulation and poor self-control. Excessive smartphone communication makes people less empathetic to each other, resulting in a loss of empathy and a deterioration in emotional connection with others. Smartphone addiction is positively associated with attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity disorder, compulsive behaviour, and procrastination. Smartphone addiction to social media is linked to interpersonal issues and contributes to non-assertive behaviour and exposure to cyberbullying. The most active smartphone users receive the highest scores for addictive behaviour. Of the personality traits of individuals, loneliness and shyness are the strongest predictors of smartphone addiction. Smartphone addiction negatively affects communication skills. Unmarried people are more dependent on the smartphone. Women are more dependent on smartphones than men.

Based on Boekaerts’ dual-processing self-regulation model, our study seeks to examine to what extent narrow personality traits are associated with different aspects of self-regulated learning. We approach this research question by examining the relationships of the narrow personality traits mindfulness, contingent self-esteem (domain academic competence), and self-control with various self-regulated learning strategies, emotion regulation strategies, and affective well-being during learning in a sample of N = 588 university students. Path analysis revealed the selected narrow personality traits to be significantly related to a variety of the investigated self-regulated learning variables, with more relationships to self-control and the contingent self-esteem domain academic competence than to mindfulness. Our study overall contributes to the understanding of how the selected narrow personality traits of students are associated with various aspects of their self-regulated learning behavior. Practical implications for promoting self-regulated learning via training (self-control) and counseling services (contingent self-esteem) are discussed.

Introduction. The strategic task of improving the quality of Russian education requires increasing the efficiency of education system management. The authors assume integration of cognitive and personal resources of the subject of activity. The researchers focus on professional thinking as one of the cognitive resources. The aim of the article is to study the relationship between professional thinking and the socio-psychological features of personality. Materials and Methods. The materials of the study were the data of a survey of 65 people. The authors used questionnaires and the method of analyzing problem situations. For statistical processing, the methods of mathematical statistics were used. Results. It is shown that the situational-suprasituational level of thinking is predominant. The relationship between the level of professional thinking and the flexibility of choosing strategies of behavior in conflict and stress is established. There are similarities between the talent pool and managers with experience in conflict and stress behavioral strategies, and differences in management motivations. The new socio-economic reality and changes in the educational environment suggest that the manager should be ready to solve new heterogeneous professional tasks, which require expanding the range of competencies and a different level of reality understanding, integrating their own psychological structures, where professional thinking will play a system-forming role. Discussion and Conclusion. The obtained results can be used in solving tasks of the Nation-wide Project “Educationˮ aimed at further training of teaching staff, and in administering the said programs of continuing education.
