<p>Financial inclusion is a prerequisite to economic development. This has been echoed by international as well as national bodies. Studies have shown that financial exclusion has its roots in social exclusion. This indicates the depth and importance of financial inclusion in creating inclusive development. Numerous studies have revealed levels of financial inclusion with limited studies performed on the role of SACCO initiatives on financial inclusion. This research examined measures of financial inclusion which include both access and usage of financial products by low income earners and the socially excluded via SACCOs. Since access and usage are supplementary, they reflect a more vivid picture of financial inclusion. The study sought to analyze the role of SACCOs in promoting financial inclusion in Kenya. The study was guided by the three specific objectives: geographical coverage of SACCOs; cost and contribution of SASRA regulations towards enhancing financial inclusion. To achieve the objectives of the study a descriptive survey research was adopted. The target population was the three SACCOs in Meru town. 43 questionnaires were issued to SACCO members to access the level of financial service access. Primary data was analyzed with aid Microsoft excel software to generate frequencies, mean and percentages. Pie charts, graphs and tables were used to present various aspects of the variables. Financial inclusion is crucial in fostering individual prosperity, poverty eradication and stimulating economic growth. It is therefore a major policy concern for majority of governments across the world. Despite the rampant growth of financial technology in Kenya, the number of adults who are financially excluded is still high among the rural area residents. Lack of financial services access in rural areas has resulted to rural economic growth retardation and inequality. Further, financial exclusion has led to increased poverty levels because those excluded have been forced to depend on their limited savings to pursue their entrepreneurial interests. Small businesses have had no choice but to rely on their inadequate earnings to pursue viable business opportunities. The main objective of this study was to establish the effect of financial technology loans on financial inclusion among the unbanked low-income earners in Makueni County. Descriptive research design was used, with the target population being the unbanked low-income earners over the age of 18 in Makueni County. A sample size of 384 respondents was chosen using the convenience sampling technique. Personal interviews were conducted using an interview guide to collect primary data. The study found that fintech loans have a positive and significant effect on financial inclusion among the unbanked low-income earners in Makueni County. According to the findings of the study, since the unbanked people in Makueni County associate the use of financial technology loans to meeting personal financial needs and especially coping up with day-to-day expenses and emergencies, this study recommends that such people embrace the use of the fintech loans more as it will aid them in improving their financial lives to a greater extent. This is because for instance, by using the fintech loans, they can create employment for themselves and generate sufficient income by financing micro businesses using this credit.

Financial inclusion is an important step in development, as access to finances can help the women to build money and lift themselves out of poverty. Lack of financial inclusion among women in Narok County is one of the many factors leading to financial exclusion and an introduction of digital banking is the remedy to its problems. Financial inclusion of women contributes immensely in empowering them. Digital banking in Kenya has been characterized by rapid technological change in the finance sector that has led to the development of mobile banking, online banking, ATMs and agency banking. The banking sector has undergone substantive transformation particularly from the year 2007. This study sought to establish the effects of digital banking and financial inclusion of Women Enterprises in Narok County, Kenya. Financial inclusion includes the provision of affordable financial services, which includes; access to payments and remittance facilities, savings, loans and insurance services by the formal financial system to those who tend to be excluded The study was anchored on finance growth theory and financial asymmetric theory. This study used descriptive research design and data was collected from the target population of all the 184 women owned enterprise in Narok County, Kenya. For this study census sampling was adopted to where all the population will be included in study since the number of target population is 184. Primary data was collected using a semi structured questionnaire to be administered to the women business owner through face to face interviews. The collected data was analysed using descriptive statistics methods; mean, mode, median, standard deviation, percentages and frequencies. Inferential statistical methods included multiple regression analysis was used to establish the relationship among variables. It was established that digital banking services significantly and positively influenced financial inclusion of women enterprises in Narok County. The study concluded that agency banking, mobile banking, online banking and ATM services significantly influenced the access and use of banking services by the locally based women enterprises in Narok County. It was further concluded that the women enterprises did not adequately use online banking due to limited literacy level, computer proficiency and internet availability. The study recommends that the available financial sector players in Narok County needs to sensitize SMEs especially women-owned to ensure that they are aware of the digital services available to be in the loop to enhance financial inclusion. The study recommends that the available digital banking providers need to improve formation of groups among the users of the services to enable improve usability. The study recommends further that the women enterprises managers and proprietors need to be in groups to develop each other and assist access, use and improve digital banking and financial inclusion.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of community restaurants (CRs), managed by the Government of the State of Bahia/Brazil, for the dimension of access to food. The study used secondary data obtained from the public opinion survey Profile of users of community restaurants in Salvador. The nutritional information was accessed through the analysis of CRs’ menus. Adequate effectiveness of access to food was considered when the CR served meals to 50% to 70% of the users considered the target audience (individuals served by the two CRs located in the city of Salvador/Bahia/Brazil). The participants (n = 1464; 778 as low-income individuals) were adult CR users from Salvador/Brazil. Most of the respondents were male, 40 to 54 years old, not white, had up to 9 years of formal education, without a partner, and living in the municipality of Salvador. The evaluated CRs are effective in serving 53.1% of the target population in their total service capacity. Meal provision only reached an estimated 0.7% of the socially vulnerable community in the district. The average energy value of the meal served by the CR units was 853.05 kcal/meal, with a mean energy density composition classified as average (1.15 kcal/g). The effectiveness of the evaluated community restaurants showed that these instruments were minimally effective in promoting access to food for the low-income population within their total daily service capacity, and the current quantity of these facilities was insufficient. However, these instruments stand out in the fundamental role of promoting the daily distribution of meals to the Brazilian population with the highest social vulnerability levels.


Financial Inclusion can be influenced by the customer perception such as availability of all financial inclusion services in all branch, reliable and prompt services, Affordable price, Post office staffs interact With friendly ( Accessible ) Safety and security transaction, affordable financial services, Simplicity procedure, Responsible to query, conveniently service under convenience sampling method were adopted. The primary data were collected with 50 Respondents of post office customers with the help of well structure close ended and 5 point likert scale questionnaire which consists of parameters to measure the perception variables. The collected data were analyses with the help of the mean rank and one way ANOVA analysis for validating the assumptions made by researchers. The study therefore done found that customers perception variable of post towards financial Inclusion processes were confirmed that the customers perception India variables had some effect on satisfaction of India post towards financial inclusion services. But, aged person, illiterate people, women , low occupation person and low income person have to attention and be conducted awareness camp. This may increase the financial inclusion in post office


The role of public sector bank, in raising the economic equality on low income or middle income group, the term financial inclusion emphasis on redistribution of income within the same household, the deprive section of society avail the benefit with some standard provided by the government and how the approach have been taken by public sector bank to distribute the same and their behavioral ethics trail over the schemes. In today's switching economy, customers' needs are changing and they are demanding more transparency, higher involvement, and clear communication in day-to-day banking processes. The rationale behind carrying out the present research is to identify the role of customer analytics in the new digital customer journey in terms of enhancing their engagement, loyalty, and satisfaction. The present research emphasizes opportunities that would accrue to financial institutions after demonetization and collecting large amount of demographics, customer transaction, and account-related data. Primary data was collected from 300 customers through a structured questionnaire to know their perceptions about the role of customer analytics and digital technologies to build their confidence and capability to use financial services. This study brings out the customer analytics trends and identifies the reasons due to which banks are struggling to keep pace with the increasing demand of both digital savvy and traditional consumers.

The chapter explores financial exclusion, its causes, and consequences in society. The chapter found that the existing discrepancy in financial inclusion between the developed and developing world is driven by financial exclusion that makes it difficult for financial service providers to expand outreach to the poor at affordable prices. The chapter aims to investigate the role of mobile financial service design and development in dealing with financial exclusion. It was found that mobile financial services are promoting financial inclusion in various markets. However, few studies have been undertaken on the benefits of mobile financial services in dealing with the high rates of financial exclusion. The chapter recommended that to achieve financial inclusion, there is need for mobile financial services providers to take into account customer experience through the ease of using the phone interface. The chapter concluded that there is need for scholars in the fields of finance and economics to conduct research in the areas of mobile financial services and their role in society.

<div><p><em>Financial inclusion is a buzz word today. It plays an important role in driving away the poverty from the country. Financial inclusion is the process of ensuring financial services to the weaker sections of the society at an affordable cost. As per the Sachar Committee Report, Muslims in India are financially excluded. Even though they have an account, the extent of usage is very low due to the religious reasons.  The Non-Muslims also do not actively engage in the formal financial system due to the interest involvement. Islamic Bank can serve as a remedy for the financial exclusion of the Muslims as well as Non-Muslims community. The objective of this paper is to understand the extent of financial inclusion among the people in Kerala and their awareness and preference towards Islamic banking. Both primary and secondary data are collected for the study. Secondary data are collected from various secondary sources like published articles, journals, reports, books and websites. Primary data are collected with the help of questionnaire among people in Kerala. The study revealed that most of the respondents have accessed bank accounts but the extent of usage is only for namesake. Moreover the awareness and preference towards Islamic Banking is very high among the Muslims as well as Non-Muslims and suggested that proper care must be taken for introducing Islamic banking system in India. It will ultimately leads to the inclusive growth of our country.</em></p></div>

Organizational strategic feasibility studies are critical in mitigating uncertainty in the business environment and enhancing growth and performance. This study sought to ascertain the role of feasibility studies in the sustainability of supermarkets in Nairobi County, Kenya. The study's specific objectives were to determine the impact of technical feasibility, economic feasibility, operational feasibility, and legal feasibility on the sustainability of supermarkets in Nairobi County, Kenya. A descriptive research design was used for the study. The study's target population was seven major supermarkets: Naivas, QuickMart, Cleanshelf, The Game Store, Chandarana, Eastmatt, and Carrefour. A questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Findings indicated that technical feasibility is positively and significantly related to the business sustainability of supermarkets in Nairobi County. The findings also revealed that economic feasibility is positively and significantly related to the business sustainability of supermarkets in Nairobi County. The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between operational feasibility and business sustainability of supermarkets in Nairobi County. Finally, the findings revealed that the legal feasibility and business sustainability of Nairobi County supermarkets are positively and significantly related. The study concluded that technical feasibility, economic feasibility, operational feasibility, and legal feasibility all have a positive impact on supermarket business sustainability. The study recommends that supermarkets should become acquainted with the technical technology that is available on the market and evaluate those that are appropriate for their needs. Managers of Nairobi County supermarkets increase the level of internal and external benchmarking in their supermarkets for economic benefit assessments.
