The purpose of this study was to find out the students perceptions on the use of e-book as learning sources at the sixth semester students of English Education Study Program of Baturaja University.The population of the research was 22 students majoring in English study program. The writer took 22 students by using total sampling.This study used descriptive qualitative method and the data was collected by using questionaire. The questionnaire consists of 20 items in the form of five likert scale. The  result of the study showed that 92.90% students had positive response and support e book as learning sources. It indicated that e book was easy to use. By using e book the both students and lecturers can improve their creativity.

Implicature was refers to implied meaning in utterance that can be understood by indirectly expression. In informal conversation was occurred the hidden meaning of what actually said by the speakers.  This study was investigated the types of implicature in informal conversations used by the English education study program students.  The study was aimed to analyze the types of implicature and how the implicature is carried out in the informal conversations.  The method of study was a descriptive qualitative method.  The subjects of this study were 25 students of English study program who have informal conversation. The students’ conversation was transcribed and analyzed by using checklist instrument. The results was shown that 1) there were three types of implicature found in the informal conversations; conventional implicature, generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature, and 2) the implicature is carried out in the informal conversations by the used of generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature. Moreover, a conclusion is students in the informal conversation have potentially implicature that indicates that their utterance has implied meaning. The suggestions, the study about implicature should be conducted in different area such as movie, drama or others, to give enrichment information in the Pragmatics study.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the forms and factors influencing code mixing produced by lecturers. The data of this research is lecturers’ utterances during the subject of speaking and writing learning process in English education study program of STKIP Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. This research used descriptive qualitative method by sociolinguistic approach. The data of this research were recorded, analyzed, and interpreted descriptively. The research result showed that (1) There are four forms of code mixing found such as word, phrase, clause, and repetition word; (2) There are three factors influencing code mixing occurences such as identification of roles, variance identification, and limitation of language utterance. Furthermore, this article is expected to contribute the knowledge related code mixing studies for further research.

This research is written to achieve an objective as follow: (1) to find out the progression of transitional in writing text has been made by the second semester of English Education Study Program in academic 2018/2019. The writer used descriptive qualitative research to give description systematically and factually about facts of a certain population. The researcher determines that the design is descriptive quantitative method because it describes the data that is taken from the sample, and the results of the data were tabulated in the form of percentage. There were 18 students (90%) agreed that transition words were used to connect the sentences. There were 20 (100%) students (90%) agreed that transition words were used to organize the sentences. There were 17 students (85%) agreed that transition words were used to remember about the topic. There were 20 (100%) students agreed that transition words were used to tell the experience, and there were 20 (100%) students agreed transition words were used to enhance the connections between facts.

This research investigates freshmen’s perception on inductive approach through PPP phase in their first speaking class. The researcher tries to integrate the previous students learning experience that were accustomed to the deductive approach with the inductive approach as the solution by implementing the PPP phase. The research is based on qualitative approach with descriptive method. 38 first semester students from English Education Study Program of teacher Training and Education Faculty, Universitas Mathla’ul Anwar Banten were assigned as participants. Questionnaire was evaluated to get insight about freshmen’s perception on Inductive Approach through PPP phase in their first speaking class. As a result, the study reveals that the student's response to all aspects of learning get a high response, 83.11% for inductive approach, 95.39% for PPP phase, and 100% for speaking activity. As the final remark, this means that students give a positive response on inductive approach through PPP phase in their first speaking class with the average score of all aspects 92.84%.

The objectives of the research are; (i) to find out the kinds of lecturers’ personalities they have at English Education Study Program of FKIP UKI Toraja, (ii) to describe whether the lecturers’ personalities affect students’ learning motivation at English Education Study Program of FKIP UKI Toraja, (iii) to describe the personalities which give positive and negative effect to students’ learning motivation.The researcher employed qualitative method. The subjects of this research were the lecturers and students at English Education Study Program of FKIP UKI Toraja. The data of this research was collected by employing recording, observation and interview. The obtained data was analyzed in three major phases are; reduction, displaying, conclusion/ drawing verification.The result of the research revealed that (1) The lecturers’ personalities of the lecturers in teaching English at English Education Study Program of FKIP UKI Toraja are; extrovert, sensing, thinking, feeling and judging. (2) The lecturers’ personalities affect students’ learning motivation in studying English at English Education Study Program of FKIP UKI are extrovert, sensing, thinking, feeling and judging that gave positive and negative effect on students’ learning motivation. (3) The lecturers’ personalities have the positive and negative effect on students’ learning motivation. Keywords: Personality, Learning motivation.

Code mixing has become a bilingual communication trend that is widely applied by the community in social interactions, especially Indonesian society and students. The method that used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were English education students who had different ethnic backgrounds and areas of origin. The researcher focused on student utterances that contained by code mixing in the communication. This present study describes the students’ grammatical errors on spoken English based on the classifications of errors refer to Dulay, Burt and Krashen’s theories. Qualitative method was used in the study. Oral test was used as the research instrument. There were 25 participants of English education study program of Timor University who were chosen randomly as the research sample. The Tape Video Recording (TVR) was used to gain data of spoken English. There were five techniques in analyzing the data: transcription, codification, classification, analyses and discussion. The results of data analyses revealed that omission presented 40,87% of errors. Then; addition presented 31,74% and misformation presented 15%. The misorderning was categorized as the lowest score with 12,30%. In linguistic category; the data showed that verb was categorized as the highest errors which presented 19% of errors. The next error was preposition which presented 17%. Then pronouns category presented 14% of errors. The conjunction and article categories presented 11% of errors on spoken English. The singular/plural and negation categories presented 10% of errors for each category. The lowest error of linguistic category was word order which presented 8% errors. The findings showed that the students still make errors on linguistic category on spoken English. There was a phenomenon in this finding that the students tend to use verb-ing instead of using verb-1 in the spoken English. They dispose to add and omit any linguistic category unconsciously when they speak.

The focus of this research is flouting maxim which is used by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando as the students of English Education Study Program 2016. This research aims at: (1) describing the kinds of maxims flouted by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando as the students of English Education Study Program 2016 and (2) revealing the reasons of flouting maxim showed by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando as English Education’16. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative research. The results of the research show that (1) the flouting maxims in conversation between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando by whatsapp message is flouting maxim of relation, and (2) revealing the reasons of flouting maxim showed by by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando.

This research emphasized the problems of speaking ability in English among students of English Education Study Program in Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. This type of research was descriptive qualitative. In this research, the researcher used interview as instrument to find out the problems faced by the students in speaking English. From the results of the research, the researcher found the main problems faced by the students were limitations on vocabulary, errors in pronunciation, and incorrect grammar. In addition, the students also got anxiety when they speak in English and they embarrassed when they speak incorrectly, and they are still affected by their native language until they have problems in speaking English.Keywords: Speaking; Speaking Problems.

Lecture courses in the English Language Education Study Program of STKIP Setiabudhi Rangkasbitung are still conducted in face-to-face class, so the students who do not attend lectures cannot know the pronunciation material at that time, because the Pronunciation course is a practical course in the English pronunciation system. The E-Learning Pronunciation is built so that lectures can be carried out anywhere and anytime without reducing the quality of the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the students who are left behind can continue to follow the Pronunciation course material, as well as habituating students in utilizing communication and information technology. E-Learning Pronunciation is important to be built to improve the ability of students’ pronunciation when doing distance learning, so that students are clearer and more firm in understanding Pronunciation so that there are no errors in English pronunciation. Participants in this study were first semester students of English education study programs. This study uses an experimental research design with the Prototype System development method and system of testing uses Black box testing.
