The focus of this research is flouting maxim which is used by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando as the students of English Education Study Program 2016. This research aims at: (1) describing the kinds of maxims flouted by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando as the students of English Education Study Program 2016 and (2) revealing the reasons of flouting maxim showed by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando as English Education’16. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative research. The results of the research show that (1) the flouting maxims in conversation between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando by whatsapp message is flouting maxim of relation, and (2) revealing the reasons of flouting maxim showed by by conversation on whatsapp message between Widya Eka Septiani and Edo Meggi Fernando.

This research is written to achieve an objective as follow: (1) to find out the progression of transitional in writing text has been made by the second semester of English Education Study Program in academic 2018/2019. The writer used descriptive qualitative research to give description systematically and factually about facts of a certain population. The researcher determines that the design is descriptive quantitative method because it describes the data that is taken from the sample, and the results of the data were tabulated in the form of percentage. There were 18 students (90%) agreed that transition words were used to connect the sentences. There were 20 (100%) students (90%) agreed that transition words were used to organize the sentences. There were 17 students (85%) agreed that transition words were used to remember about the topic. There were 20 (100%) students agreed that transition words were used to tell the experience, and there were 20 (100%) students agreed transition words were used to enhance the connections between facts.

This present study tries to investigate the students’ writing performance to know whether interlanguage fossilization is occurs or not. The primary goal of this research is to give information relating interlanguage fossilization in students’ writing performance of English Education Study Program of IAIN Jurai Siwo Metro. This research is qualitative research. It is used to describe interlanguage fossilization that occurred in students’ writing performance. The writer uses observation, documentation and interview to collect the data. Purposive sampling is the technique for choosing the ten students of the sixth and the eight semester of English Education Study Program of IAIN Jurai Siwo Metro in the Academic Year of 2017/2018. The result of this research shows that there are two types of interlanguage fossilization that are commonly produced by students’ writing performance. They are syntactical fossilization and morphological fossilization. Syntactical fossilization consists of 71, 86% and morphological fossilization consists of 28, 14%.  Moreover, interlanguage fossilization phenomenon in students’ writing performance is caused by the students’ low English proficiency. Therefore, the students should be more active to improve their English ability.

The objectives of this research are to identify the perception toward schema theory that used in reading class on the fifth semester students of English Education Study Program of FKIP UNIB in academic year 2010/2011. The population of this research was the fifth semester students of English Education Program of FKIP UNIB in academic year 2010/2011. The population of this study was the whole fifth semester students of English Study Program of Bengkulu University for academic year 2010 – 2011 which consist of 38 students. The sample of this study used total sampling technique. This study was a descriptive study. The instrument of this study was questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 25 items that purpose to measure students’ perception toward schema theory. The result of this research show that the schema theory  had  86,50%  positive  perception,  12,30%  neutral  perception  and  1,20%  negative perception. It displayed that the respondents had high positive perception toward schema theory. It means that most of the students agree with the application of schema theory as a learning style in the fifth semester students of English Education Program of FKIP UNIB in academic year 2010/2011.

The purpose of this research is to identify the types of slip of the tongue made by English Education Study Program students of Bengkulu University in their proposal seminar presentation and to identify the dominant type of slip of the tongue made by English Education Study Program students of Bengkulu University in their proposal seminar presentation. The samples of this study were 5 Students English Education Study Program students of Bengkulu University who carry out seminars of each student proposal on February 23rd, 2018 and on April 27th, 2018. The instrument used in this research was the writer herself. The data were collected by using documentary method. To analyze the data, the qualitative and quantitative methods were applied. The results of this research show that there are 60 data which are taken from the proposal seminar presentation of English students. In those data there are 6 of 8 types of slip of the tongue found in students’ presentation; Anticipation, Perseveration, Exchange, Substitution, Addition and Deletion. The dominant type occurred was Substitution

The objective of this research was to determine how students’ speaking skill of UMN Al Washliyah English Education Study Program through vlogs on Instructional Planning and Media course was. This research used a descriptive qualitative research design, in which the researcher described and analysed speaking skill. The population in the research was 10 students of UMN Al Washliyah English Education Study Program in semester III-V in Academic Year 2020/2021, totalling 10 people. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that the students’ speaking skill was between the levels “Above Average” and “Excellent.” In other phrases, it may be concluded that vlog media may be an interesting alternative media that may be used to improve college students’ speaking skill. Implicature was refers to implied meaning in utterance that can be understood by indirectly expression. In informal conversation was occurred the hidden meaning of what actually said by the speakers.  This study was investigated the types of implicature in informal conversations used by the English education study program students.  The study was aimed to analyze the types of implicature and how the implicature is carried out in the informal conversations.  The method of study was a descriptive qualitative method.  The subjects of this study were 25 students of English study program who have informal conversation. The students’ conversation was transcribed and analyzed by using checklist instrument. The results was shown that 1) there were three types of implicature found in the informal conversations; conventional implicature, generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature, and 2) the implicature is carried out in the informal conversations by the used of generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature. Moreover, a conclusion is students in the informal conversation have potentially implicature that indicates that their utterance has implied meaning. The suggestions, the study about implicature should be conducted in different area such as movie, drama or others, to give enrichment information in the Pragmatics study.

ABSTRACT: This research aims at revealing and analyzing errors made by the fourth-semester students of English Education Study Program, Khairun University. Dulay, Burt, and Krashen (1982) categorized errors into two types, namely global and local errors. Global errors refer to errors that affect overall sentence organization significantly hinder communication. While, errors that affect single element (constituents) in sentences do not usually hinder communication significantly are called local errors. The scholar focuses on analyzing students’ errors in translating legal terms in English into Indonesian. This research is qualitative research that is analyzed the data descriptively. The research shows that there are many errors occurred in students’ target-language text. The errors made by the students dominantly indicate local errors with the percentage of 81.57% as the errors which do not influence or disturb the readers’ understanding. While, global errors’ percentage is 18.43%.

Code mixing has become a bilingual communication trend that is widely applied by the community in social interactions, especially Indonesian society and students. The method that used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were English education students who had different ethnic backgrounds and areas of origin. The researcher focused on student utterances that contained by code mixing in the communication. This research was found three types of code mixing used by students namely insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization from the English into Indonesia by the students utterances in communication.Keywords:code mixing, kinds of code mixing

<p align="center"><strong>Abstract </strong></p><p>Education 4.0 is a new paradigm in educational context in which it focuses on the innovation and maximizes the use of information, internet, and technology. This new paradigm is currently promoted in many subjects, including English subjects in English Education Study Program of Universitas Tidar. One of the subjects that promote Education 4.0 is English for Survival. Therefore, this study reports to explore the challenges in promoting Education 4.0 in English for Survival classes. This study uses qualitative research in the form of case study. The participants of this study are the lecturers and the students of English for Survival classes. The instruments of data collection are questionnaire and interview. The finding shows that three challenges revealed in promoting Education 4.0 in which they cover lecturer’s teaching technique, students’ speaking skill, and facilities. Besides, the lecturers and the students need to highlight those challenges and solve those problems. All in all, against all the odds of promoting Education 4.0, the lecturers and students need to apply Education 4.0 in order to help the students to compete in the era of 4.0.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>Education 4.0, speaking, autonomous learning, perceptions </p>
