In order to realize green manufacturing in the production process of semi-combined marine crankshaft structural parts, good job scheduling and reasonable workshop layout are the key. In traditional method, flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP) and the multi-row workshop layout problem (MRWLP) are regarded as separate tasks. However, the separate optimization method ignores the interaction between FJSP and MRWLP. Because the process sequencing of FJSP affects the layout results of processing machines, while the layout scheme of MRWLP affects the scheduling completion time through the transportation between processes. Therefore, it is very important to establish an integrated mathematical model for optimization of both layout and scheduling simultaneously to explore the common influence of the two resource constraints on scheduling results. At the same time, the transportation task is also a manufacturing process that cannot be ignored, which affects the completion time and energy consumption of the workshop, especially the heavy industrial manufacturing workshop with crane as transportation equipment. According to the established model, a five-segment coding including transportation information, layout information and processing information is designed, and two heuristic selection strategies are integrated into non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) to optimize the iterative results twice. Finally, the effectiveness of the integrated mathematical model is verified by an example, which provides guidance for green manufacturing in the shipbuilding industry.

This paper includes project selection problem. Indeed, decision maker wants to select some projects among a group of projects with considering the resource constraints or he/she wants to reach a sequence of projects for doing them. We consider an objective for selecting the projects: minimizing the deviations from optimum solution. We study our models and solution method by a case study from Iran. This solution method is based on goal programming. The results show the efficiency of model and solution method and a chart has been shown for analyzing the results and seeing the sequence of projects. Finally, we propose future researches and generation of problem.

The purpose of this design is to create a Zobo tea package design prototype allied with African indigenous onomastics. African indigenous products are effective in terms of functionality; however, industrialized products gained more attention because of aesthetics, safety, hygiene, and other advanced technology put into consideration during production. This seems to boost the inferiority of indigenous products. Hence, the present study focuses on indigenous Zobo tea in terms of creating a conceptual package design prototype enhanced with product onomastics. Twenty-two names are derived for indigenous Zobo tea by making use of linguistics techniques. These names are used as label for designing a conceptual package prototype for indigenous Zobo tea. A Delphi technique is adopted for the evaluation of this creative process. The findings show that homonym as an onomastics will enhance the branding and development of indigenous Zobo tea even in the international market. This will remodel the inferiority of the aesthetics of Zobo indigenous products. Hence, research on the choice of an appropriate name for a particular product should be a contemporary research area to improve the present situation of our indigenous product branding and graphic design. It is believed that the outcome of this research could provide guidelines for effective naming in product package design for indigenous product development; as creative designers must not only understand the vocabulary of graphic design but be aware of extraneous constraints that could affect their designs.

Nepal’s teacher education is witnessing a number of hurdles and the case has been deteriorating further. It is imperative to improve the existing situation with no delay. Regarding Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), I have tried to figure out the present situation of knowledge, practice and expectations of the teacher educators of English working in both public/community and private teacher education institutions of Nepal. A survey was conducted using a questionnaire. A total of twenty-five informants fully responded to the questionnaire. It was found that they were aware of the need for including ICTs in classroom instruction but due to the resource constraints, lack of trainings and lack of readiness in the administrative systems, they have not been able to make use of ICTs in classroom instruction. Journal of NELTA, Vol 20 No. 1-2, December 2015, Page: 27-33

In wafer plants, product will be manufactured through same process with different setups and specifications. This special manufacturing process is described as re-entrant flows. In photo process of wafer manufacturing, products is also restricted to be processed through same machine in each reentrance to improve quality. This phenomenon will cause scheduling in photo process being complicated and is proved to be a NP-hard problem. This research develops a mathematical model for photo process to minimize the makespan. A feasible solution is achieved using DBR (drum-buffer-rope) method. The results are compared to the optimal solution that is achieved using branch and bound algorithm. Our results show that DBR based method achieves a near optimal solution in shorter time. The results also indicate that DBR method can be useful in production scheduling with resource constraints.

The work contains an analysis of the current state of centralized utilities, which form the basis of engineering networks in the country. The problems actualizing questions of mathematical modeling of system process of designing of new and reconstruction of old engineering networks in the conditions of their perspective development are resulted. The analysis of researches in the field of designing of engineering networks taking into account uncertainty of the information is given. The main material of the article is devoted to the construction of a mathematical model of the problem of distribution of work volumes at different stages of construction or reconstruction of the engineering network, taking into account the long-term development of the system. The list of questions to be answered when designing a network is given. A topological model of the design area is proposed. It consists of sites for which design is carried out, indicators of reliability of assignment of design sites to various stages of construction or reconstruction of an engineering network, quality criteria and characteristics of resource constraints. The basic mathematical model of the problem is built, which takes into account the conditions of perspective development of the engineering network. It is solved by Boolean programming methods. Another view of the introduced variables is offered, which allows to consider them as functions of belonging of sites of the territory of designing to this or that stage of construction or reconstruction of an engineering network. The introduction of indicators of reliability of the design sites to different stages of construction or reconstruction of the engineering network leads to the discontinuous nature of the allowable values of variables, which makes the task dichotomous. The solution to this problem is the problem of partial-integer linear programming. Another approach to taking into account the uncertainty of information at the initial stages of design of engineering networks – the use of algebra of interval numbers. With the help of interval numbers it is possible to reproduce the expert opinion on the scattering of the initial data. The analysis of efficiency of application of interval algebra is resulted and formulated the need for further research on this topic.
