The paper examined the impact of relational capitals on community economic development. For this purpose, the handloom business community was taken as a case study from Peshawar Valley. Data was collected through purposive sampling from169 handlooms firms. The results concluded that the impact of relational capital is significant, and the relationship is positive. This study hereby suggests that government and policymakers should invest in making ties and a strong network of firms within and outside of the community; hence with high investment in making strong social-relational capital can develop the entire entrepreneurial communities.

Abstract This study aims to elaborate on the pesantren agility viewed from the aspects of sources and its implementation in the community economic development. The research uses the case study method. The research finds that pesantren agility is sourced from the traditional intellectual pesantren, the implemented integration of Islamic teaching and values in social-economic fields. Pesantren agility is the epicenter for the strength of socioeconomic functions, particularly the development of the community’s economy through the transformation and expansion of pesantren institutional services. The pesantren agility has been applied in community economic development according to the economic needs.AbstrakKajian ini bertujuan mengelaborasi agilitas pesantren dari aspek sumber dan implementasinya dalam pengembangan ekonomi komunitas. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi kasus. Ditemukan agilitas pesantren bersumber dari modal intelektual tradisi pesantren dan implementasi integrasi ajaran agama Islam dalam bidang sosial ekonomi. Agilitas pesantren merupakan episentrum bagi kekuatan fungsi sosial ekonomi khususnya dalam pengembangan ekonomi komunitas melalui transformasi perluasan fungsi kelembagaan pesantren. Agilitas pesantren diaplikasikan dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi komunitas sesuai kebutuhan dasar ekonominya.

Sustainable Community Economic Development (SCED) has gradually been changing overtime from production philosophy to the welfare ideology of assuring better future for a resilient community. SCED's contribution in poverty alleviation, employment generation, sustainable community design, disaster control and resilience, biodiversity protection and so on. The study conducted a descriptive literature review of the history of this concept in global and Bangladesh perspective. Peer review publications in English language were considered that were indexed in reputed database like Scopus and Web of Science. The study designed two timelines of SCED concept evolution based on the information derived from the existing peer review publications. Both timelines (global and Bangladesh) were found interrelated in couple of points, especially the third phase of the global SCED connected with the first phase of Bangladesh's SCED timeline, immediately after the Liberation War. The study concluded that, SCED is an everchanging area of study and future research would reveal more sustainable features that would make the community sustainable and resilient. In agricultural production, contract farming is a widely recognized strategy all over the world where similar type of farmers from different corners of a country are engaging under a single industry. In poultry industry of Bangladesh, Contract Farming (CF) is quite popular. Since inception in 1994, contract farming in poultry industry is quite common and major industrial players of Bangladesh deploy this strategy for gaining competitive advantage. In the CF model, the contribution of an individual farmer to the gigantic production volume of a large poultry farm can’t be denied and, in this way,CF can play a vital role in the sustainable community economic development. The objective of the study is to assess how Contract Farming can contribute in the sustainable community economic development of Bangladesh in the light ofSustainable Development Goals. The study is literature review in nature and secondary sources of information has been consulted. The study concluded that, contract farming is crucial in poultry industry and its contribution in assuring sustainable community economic development is significant.
