Service-Oriented Architecture(SOA) is an approach for designing, deploying and managing services that represent reusable business functionality. SOA removes the gap between software and business. Reliability and fault-free implementation are major concern for SOA based applications. Traditional testing are no more beneficial for verifying and validating the quality of services in SOA systems. Regression testing is inevitable that is undertaken every time to provide confidence that modification do not introduce new bugs into previously validated code. In this paper we addressed the UML based regression testing method using UML use case diagram and UML activity diagram to generate a test case in the context of case study named ' Online Shopping System' .

Security is one of the largest challenges facing the development of a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). This is due to the fact that SOA security is the responsibility of both the service consumer and service provider. In recent years, many solutions have been implemented, such as the Web Services Security Standards, including WS-Security and WS-SecurityPolicy. However, those standards are insufficient for the promising new generations of Web 2.0 applications. In this research, we describe an Intelligent SOA Security (ISOAS) framework and introduce four of its services: Authentication and Security Service (NSS), the Authorization Service (AS), the Privacy Service (PS) and the Service of Quality of Security Service (SQoSS). Furthermore, a case study is presented to examine the behavior of the described security services inside a market SOA environment.

This chapter gives a solution to design Service Oriented Architectures which defines and manages Service Level Agreements to enforce Quality of Services and achieves adaptivity at runtime. The validation of this proposed approach is performed through an actual case study in the context of the multimedia application domain.

With the exponential growth in size and complexity of softwares, the testing activity is no more limited to testing phase of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Testing process has been made iterative and incremental in Object Oriented development scenario. This leads to increase in effort and time required for testing as well as explosion in test case. But when it comes to regression testing, it has the additional issue of test case retesting which further increasing the effort and time. So a suitable prioritization technique should be used to address these issues. In this paper we had given a proposal which is based on prioritization of test cases using GA (Genetic Algorithm). This process is found to be very effective during regression testing. In this paper we found an optimized independent path having maximum critical path value, which further leads to prioritization of test cases. The three component of regression testing i.e effort, time, cost will be gradually reduce by using this approach.

SOAP/WSDL and REST are two architectural styles to build web services. SOAP/WSDL follows operation centric and REST follows resource centric approach. SOAP/WSDL has standard registry where producer can register service specification and consumer can discover service endpoint using UDDI.  Recently RESTful web service gained momentum in development of distributed application and research community already started discussion about RESTful based Service Oriented Architecture(SOA)  but there is no standard central repository exist where producer can register and consumer can search RESTful service based on Quality of Services or based on their specification. In this research paper, we proposed framework: XML based RESTRegistry – central repository with Quality of Service through which producer can easily register services and consumer can search it easily. We also developed Travel Schedule benchmark application to test proposed framework in real world.

The issue of information management is crucial for any academic institution. Convenient access to requested content is creating a competitive advantage for different types of decisions. Information management process in Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) often create problems because there is no systematic way of storage management. IPG lecturers stored their teaching materials in different kind of methods. This situation cause in a loss of resources, difficult to retrieve and also cannot be identified when it's needed. Dealing with large volumes of resources it is essential to use technological solutions that enable flexible storage, retrieval, processing and interpreting information. To solve the problems, this article introduced a framework that use single platform and named as Information Sharing for Learning (IS4L) for managing teaching and learning resources in IPG. The resources will be stored and can be accessed at any time. The framework also applied the technique of gamification to motivate and encourage users to use the application and consequently will increase the volume of resources stored. The developed application based on the proposed framework could help to motivate and engage peoples to share their resources and enhance quality of services in IPG. Finally it could assist to improve the performance and effectiveness of services to achieve users’ satisfaction.

Program assertions have been recognized as a supporting tool during software development, testing, and maintenance. Therefore, software developers place assertions within their code in positions that are considered to be error prone or that have the potential to lead to a software crash or failure. Similar to any other software, programs with assertions must be maintained. Depending on the type of modification applied to the modified program, assertions also might have to undergo some modifications. New assertions may also be introduced in the new version of the program, while some assertions can be kept the same. This paper presents a novel approach for test case prioritization during regression testing of programs that have assertions using fuzzy logic. The main objective of this approach is to prioritize the test cases according to their estimated potential in violating a given program assertion. To develop the proposed approach, we utilize fuzzy logic techniques to estimate the effectiveness of a given test case in violating an assertion based on the history of the test cases in previous testing operations. We have conducted a case study in which the proposed approach is applied to various programs, and the results are promising compared to untreated and randomly ordered test cases.

This paper explores the difficulties of building a service-oriented government by taking the evaluation results of public service satisfaction of Guizhou province in 2019 as an example. This paper finds that building a service-oriented government is the process of improving the quality of public service in an all-round way. With the steady improvement of the public service quality in China, the public’s expectation of the public service quality has been improved by changing from the original “yes or no” to the current “good or not”. In order to speed up the construction of service-oriented government, government departments should pay attention to the change of public demand and take the comfort, richness and transparency of public service as the key points of quality improvement.

Vincentius Kristus Raja (KR) Main Clinic aims to serve patients effectively and economically in an effort to improve the quality of public health services, especially in Surabaya. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in the form of a case study, to assess the implementation of standard operating procedures at the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic. Relevant data collection was carried out using questionnaires distributed to personnel related to standard operating procedures. The results of the research study according to the questionnaire indicate that the operational implementation is in accordance with the standard operating procedures that have been set based on the policies of the leadership and the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic Foundation. Compliance with standard operating procedures is very important because standard operating procedures are guidelines or references for carrying out tasks and work in accordance with their functions. The conclusions and suggestions from this study are that although compliance with standard operating procedures is adequate, the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic needs to develop and improve the quality of services, especially better communication with patients, both new patients and patients who have been on treatment for a long time at the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic. Considering that there are now many new health clinics that can be competitors for the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic, there must be a good response to this phenomenon. The emergence of these new competitors requires the Vincentius Kristus Raja Main Clinic to be able to be competitive in order to face the existing competition by improving the quality and quality of service for patients.

In the last decade the component technologies have evolved from object-oriented to serviceoriented ones. Services are seen as utilities based on a pay-for-use model. This model requires providing and guaranteeinga certain Quality of Service (QoS). However, QoS and even a service itself can be defined and understood in many different ways. It is by far not obvious which of these approaches and in what extent they should be used when developing service-oriented software systems. This paper analyzes the notion of QoS namely from this point of view.
