GENERIC LOSSLESS VISIBLE WATERMARKING BY USING TRANSLUCENT AND MONOCHROME METHOD

Images make up a major component of multimedia content. Digital arts, illustrative diagrams, cultural heritage paintings in digitized for and digital photographs are examples of images. Advances in computing hardware, software, and computer networks have created threats to copyright protection and content integrity. In this paper, a new method for lossless visible watermarking is proposed by using appropriate compound mappings that allow mapped values to be controllable. The mappings are proved to be reversible for lossless recovery of the original image. The approach is generic, leading to the possibility of embedding different types of visible watermarks into cover images. Two applications of the proposed method are demonstrated, where opaque monochrome watermarks and non uniformly translucent full-color ones are respectively embedded into color images.

In some business applications, the rough content of a digital image can be accessed through public channel, but the detailed image can only be achieved by some interested buyers who pay for the key. Reversible visible watermarking provides a kind of protection, but covers parts of image. In this paper, we utilize the relationship between embedding capacity and visual distortion, and proposed a novel image degradation scheme for copyright protection based on reversible difference expansion watermarking. Experiment results show that our scheme degrades the images uniformly, and the general content is still available. And the legal users with key can restore the original image with full details and extract the copyright proof.

In this paper, we provide a holistic survey of multimedia content protection applications in which blockchain technology is being used. A taxonomy is developed to classify these applications with reference to the technical aspects of blockchain technology, content protection techniques, namely, encryption, digital rights management, digital watermarking and fingerprinting (or transaction tracking), and performance criteria. The study of the literature reveals that there is currently no complete and systematic taxonomy dedicated to blockchain-based copyright protection applications. Moreover, the number of successfully developed blockchain-based content protection systems is very low. This points towards a research gap. To fill this gap, we propose a taxonomy that integrates technical aspects and application knowledge and can guide the researchers towards the development of blockchain-based multimedia copyright protection systems. Furthermore, the paper discusses some technical challenges and outlines future research directions.

In global internet usage, increasing multimedia message, which includes video, audio, images, and text documents, on the web raised a lot of consequences related to copyright. For copyright protection, authentication purpose and forgery detection digital watermarking is the robust way in social network content protection. In this technique, the privacy information is embedded inside the multimedia content like image and video. The protected content embedded inside multimedia content is called watermark-enabled information. To make more effective the process of watermarking, the content encrypted before embedding to the image. Basically, the digital watermarking embedded process implemented in two different domains called spatial and frequency domain. In spatial domain digital watermarking, the watermark information is embedded in the least significant bit of the original image on the basis of bit plane selected and on the basis of the pixels of image, embedding, and detection is performed.

A blind print-recapture robust watermark scheme is proposed. Watermark patterns are embedded into the space domain of a color image and can be detected from a print-recaptured version of the image without knowledge of the original image. The process of embedding invisible watermarks to convert RGB color images to CIE Lab color spaces and embed periodic watermarks in both color channels at the same time. Watermark extraction is achieved by calculating self-convolution and inverting the geometric transformation such as rotation and scale. Normalized correlation coefficients between the extracted and the embedded watermark pattern is calculated to determine whether there is watermark. The decision about the presence/absence of the watermark pattern is then determined by a threshold which is set 0.13, and the detection rate of 241 pictures is about 0.79.

With the development of globalization, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) has come under increasing threat, making the safeguarding of ICH a crucial task for the governments and peoples of the world. This paper examines China’s current state of intellectual property (IPR) protection for ICH and proposes that ICH be placed under China’s legislative protection as intellectual property. Due to the immense diversity and complexity of ICH and the difficulty in reconciling various interests involved, the existing IPR protection mode faces many obstacles in practice. We present two case studies and three sets of recommendations on improving the protection of ICH in China. The first set relies on improving copyright protection for ICH, the second set relies on improving trademark and geographical protection for ICH, and the third set relies on improving patent protection for ICH.

Despite their frequent use in our daily life, the expansion and reduction of images are among the least studied research areas in the literature. That is why the present research paper undertakes the study of the different techniques used for reducing and enlarging images, whose combination will be a new protocol (REPro) for the transmission of medical images. The proposed approach consists in reducing the image when sent and enlarging it when received, which allows for consumption saving of the bandwidth allocated to the diagnostics service. To do so, the performance of our new protocol was tested for the transfer of scars images (color images) and ultrasound images (grayscale images) in terms of the resemblance between the original image, on one hand, and the reduced and then enlarged one, on the other hand.
