IntroductionOlder adults usually have physical, psychological, and social changes that affect basic functions due to physiological aging. The objective of this study was to assess the degree of functional independence in geriatric patients and their relationship to age, level of education and time of residence.Patients and MethodsA descriptive, cross-cutting study focused on the assessment of the degree of functional independence under barthel’s index was carried out; made in residents with age ranges between 65-90 years, where an important description of the level of independence in seniors was obtained. The total population (sample) was 110 residents (57 women and 53 men). Results It showed that men have greater independence functionality (43% men vs. 32% women), corroborating this appreciation with a national census statistic performed in 2010. In addition, the results have been analyzed with its correlation and significance of the Residents’ Functional Level outcome regarding to their age, education level, and time in the institution.ConclusionsThe educational level showed a slight correlation with its physical functionality, however, no connection was found between functionality and age, nor institutionalized time. Further studies should be performed on a major scale to support static relevance.

The incidence of breech presentation is approximately 3,97%. Breech presentation is considered as being “borderline eutocic” and it requires carefully monitoring both the foetus and the mother. The aim of the current paper is to evaluate the preffered method of delivery in case of breech presentation. The paper presents a retrospective study performed in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Departments of the County Emergency Clinical Hospital “Sf. Apostol Andrei” in Constanta, during a period of 5 years (2010-2014). The methods of birth were analyzed for a lot of 1104 patients with breech presentation with ages ranging between 16 and 44 years old. The total number of patients who gave birth through vaginal delivery was of 139 patients, amounting to 12.59% of the total population sample. The number of patients that gave birth through C-section was 965, which amounts to 87.4% of the total population sample. Birth through C-section is preferred by both obstetricians and patients alike, due to the fact that vaginal delivery is associated with a higher foetal risk in breech presentation.

They use a lot of alcohol (Jaad and Raski) in the festivals and rituals ceremony however the economic condition of Dalit is poor so many children of them are forced to dropout from schools because their parents cannot afford their education fees. The social status of the females in the Dalit community is very low than the males in the society. After the father's death all the properties is transferred to the son. The main causes for degrading status of Dalits are due to poverty, lack of education and lack of social awareness. Purpose: This research addresses the topic of anxiety, phobic and obsessive disorders. In this research, the theme is addressed to the psychopathological investigation of personalities, according to the PICI-2TA model (Perrotta Integrative Clinical Interviews, version 2-TA), the PAD-Q (Perrotta Affective Dependency Questionnaire), the PSM (Perrotta Sexual Matrix), the PDM-Q (Perrotta Defence Mechanisms Questionnaire) and the PHEM model (Perrotta Human Emotions Model), in order to design a direct and functional psychotherapeutic protocol to manage the psychopathological process in the shortest time possible, according to the principles of efficiency, effectiveness and economy, trying to reduce the symptomatology until the total regression by the fifth-tenth session. Methods: Clinical interview and administration of the PICI-2, the PAD-Q, the PSM, and the PDM-Q. Results: In the male group, aged 18-36 years, there were 8 people, of whom 6 (75%) reacted to the total resolution of the neurotic symptomatology described between the fifth and ninth sessions, while only 2 (25%) said they felt their neurotic symptoms had subsided. In the male group, aged 37-54 years, there are 5 people, of whom 4 (80%) reacted to the total resolution of neurotic symptomatology described between the fifth and ninth sessions. In the male group, aged 55-72 years, there were 6 people, of whom 4 (66.6%) reacted to the total resolution of neurotic symptoms described between the ninth and tenth sessions. In the female group, aged 18-36 years, there were 22 people, of whom 18 (82%) reacted to the total resolution of neurotic symptoms described between the fifth and ninth sessions. In the female group, aged 37-54 years, there were 13 people, of whom 9 (69.2%) reacted to the total resolution of neurotic symptoms described between the fifth and ninth session. In the female group, aged 55-72 years, there were 11 people, of whom 8 (72.7%) reacted to the total resolution of neurotic symptoms described between the fifth and ninth sessions. Conclusions: The research showed that the PPP-DNA protocol, for neurotic disorders, was effective in the total population sample for 74.36%, for the fractionated male population sample for 73.86% and for the fractionated female population sample for 74.86%, with resistance to change identified in adverse conditions of family, environmental, socio-cultural and temporal type (of duration of neurotic symptomatology), however able to promote an attenuation of the symptomatology suffered by at least 50%.

Background: COVID-19 has created a rapid onset health crisis severely affecting different countries, such as Peru. This pandemic also involved social changes, such as the COVID-19 lockdown, which has had negative effects on different aspects of peoples’ mental health. For this reason, the main objective of this work is to establish a model that explains the effects of the COVID-19-lockdown period on the mental health of a population sample in Peru. Methods: In this sense, online questionnaires were carried out using the PHQ-9, GAD-7, and CPDI in 400 participants. To better explain the data, an ordinal logistic regression was carried out. Results: The model showed that the severity of stress due to COVID-19 is positively associated with the variables age (OR = 1.02; CI95 [1.01; 1.04]), depression (OR = 1.29; CI95 [1.14; 1.31]) and anxiety (OR = 1.49; CI95 [1.35; 1.66]), as well as with the presence of a deceased relative due to COVID-19 (OR = 3.53; CI95 [1.43; 8.82]). On the contrary, the presence of a family member who was hospitalized for COVID-19 is negatively correlated with COVID-19 related stress (OR = 0.30; CI95 [0.13; 0.69]). Conclusion: In conclusion, elderly people, having high levels of anxiety or depression, as well as having a deceased relative due to COVID-19 show higher levels of COVID-19 related stress. These factors play an important role in the intervention of future studies that plan to intervene in the mental health of the population affected by the COVID-19 lockdown.

Background: There is a growing understanding of the importance of the social factors of posttraumatic stress disorder. Aims: This study expands research on association between posttraumatic stress and social factors by introducing the measure of the acceptance of social changes and evaluating possible links between posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms and acceptance of social changes. Methods: A general population sample ( n = 778) aged from 18 to 89 years ( M = 40.2) from Lithuania participated in our study, of whom 68% reported exposure to traumatic events. Posttraumatic stress reactions were measured with the Impact of Event Scale – Revised (IES-R), and acceptance of social changes was measured with the Acceptance of Social Changes Instrument (SOCHI) developed by the authors of this study. Results: About 8% of the participants had a potential posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) diagnosis. Acceptance of social changes was negatively associated with posttraumatic stress. PTSD was related to lower acceptance of social changes ( d = .61). Structural equation model (SEM) revealed the mediating role of PTSD for acceptance of social changes following trauma exposure. Conclusion: Findings of our study indicate that the acceptance of social changes might be an important psychosocial factor of PTSD.

Chosen names reflect a society’s changing values, aspirations and cultural diversity. Vogues in name usage can be easily shown on a case by case basis, by plotting the rise and fall in their popularity over time. However, individual name choices are not made in isolation and trends in naming are better understood as group-level phenomena. Here we use network analysis to examine onomastic (name) datasets in order to explore the influences on name choices within the UK over the last 170 years. Using a large representative sample of approximately 22 million chosen forenames from England and Wales given between 1838 and 2014, along with a complete population sample of births registered between 1996 and 2016, we demonstrate how trends in name usage can be visualised as network graphs.By exploring the structure of these graphs, various patterns of name use become readily apparent, which can be interpreted in the context of historic events, such as known waves of migration. In general, we show that the topology of network graphs can reveal naming vogues, and that naming vogues are a reflection of social and demographic changes. Many name choices are consistent with a self-correcting feedback loop, whereby rarer names become common because there are virtues perceived in their rarity, yet with these perceived virtues lost upon increasing commonality. Towards the present day, the comparatively greater range of media, freedom of movement, and ability to maintain globally-distributed social networks increases the number of possible names, but also ensures they may more quickly be perceived as commonplace. Consequently, contemporary naming vogues are relatively short-lived with many name choices appearing a balance struck between recognisability and rarity. The data are available via an easy-to-use web interface at http://demos.flourish.studio/namehistory.
