Belmore, in the City of Canterbury, is part of the traditional land of the Bediagal people. The area was once covered by a forest of Sydney blue gum, blackbutt, red mahogany and ironbark trees, growing on clay soils derived from Wianamatta shales. Water came from three small creeks, which flowed in a north-easterly direction into Cooks River. The earliest colonial surveyors followed an Aboriginal pathway (which became Punchbowl Road/Milperra Road) which led from Cooks River to Georges River. Before 1810, this pathway became a convenient access road from Sydney through Canterbury Farm, crossing Cooks River at the 'Punch Bowl' ford, and land grants were surveyed along the route. Once over the ford, travellers could turn south on a track, now Burwood Road at Belfield, and pass through country which is today's suburb of Belmore, south-east to King's Grove Farm and the land grants beyond. Canterbury Road was not formed as an access road into Sydney until after the 1830s, and it was not gazetted until 1856.

As a developing city, Medan carries out a significant role in establishing the identity and image of the city and the development of the surrounding cities and districts. One effort to establish the identity and image of the city can be created through the existence of city gates that can produce a plot, rhythm, and balance for the city bounded. The gate of Medan City has not succeeded in becoming a city gate that meets the needs needed by migrants who pass through the city gate area. This study will address the problems discovered at the Medan City gate in Binjai, Tanjung Morawa, Tembung, and Pancur Batu and relate them to the rejuvenation of the city area through revitalization methods in supporting Metropolitan Mebidangro. The research aims to analyze predetermined variables, namely elements of the city image, namely path, edge, district, nodes, and landmark. For this reason, a qualitative descriptive study was carried out, which was realized through observation and interviews and also documentation studies. The results of the research obtained from this study can be used as a reference and solution to find out the problems that exist int the area around Medan City gate and also give functional supports to develop the area around Medan City.

The authors analyze the impact of a tax on sweetened beverages using a unique data set of prices, quantities sold, and nutritional information across several thousand taxed and untaxed beverages for a large set of stores in Philadelphia and its surrounding area. The tax is passed through at an average rate of 97%, leading to a 34% price increase. Demand in the taxed area decreases by 46% in response to the tax. Cross-shopping to stores outside of Philadelphia offsets more than half of the reduction in sales in the city and decreases the net reduction in sales of taxed beverages to only 22%. There is no significant substitution to bottled water and modest substitution to untaxed natural juices. The authors show that tax avoidance through cross-shopping severely constrains revenue generation and nutritional improvement, thus making geographic coverage an important policy decision.

The article presents the results of monitoring the temperature of the surface layers of the earth. Monitoring was carried out at two sites with engineering-geological conditions typical for Perm. The geological conditions of the first site are clay soils, the second site is sandy. The first site is located in a dense urban development, the second in an unfinished part of the city of Perm. The depth of the soil massif on which the temperature was monitored was: for the first site - 19 m, for the second site - 37 m. Based on monitoring results, a picture of the temperature change in the soil massif in time for both sites was obtained. In the article, the average monthly temperatures of the soil massif are plotted on both sites. The zone of fluctuations in the temperature of the soil massif is revealed depending on the temperature of the outside air. The depth of the zone of seasonal temperature fluctuations was 10m. Monitoring determined that the temperature of the ground mass is below 10m: for the first site + 12 ° C with a decrease in temperature to 10°C to a depth of 19m, for the second site - a constant + 6-7°C to a depth of 37m.

Kata Kunci : Pembangunan Infrastruktur, Sarana dan Prasarana, Masyarakat Perbatasan ABSTRACT Rural development of the border region is the starting point towards progress, especially the availability of infrastructure facilities and infrastructure The purpose of this study was to examine the extent of infrastructure development in Liang Turan Village, West Krayan District, Nunukan Regency. This type of research is qualitative descriptive, with data analysis techniques using interactive models of Miles & Huberman (2011). The results of research showed that infrastructure development in Liang Turan village was not good, this was due to the isolated area. Access to the bridge that connects between sub-districts has not been able to be traversed by four-wheeled vehicles. Even road access is in the form of a dirt road which, if there is rain, it is certain that the vehicle will not be able to pass through the access road. Items needed to build infrastructure for village offices, school buildings and houses of worship are difficult to bring, because the only access to transportation that can be used is through air transportation and that is very limited. Meanwhile, to bring in construction materials from Malaysia, it also takes a long time due to poor road infrastructure conditions that affect the construction of infrastructure facilities and infrastructure in Liang Turan Village, West Krayan District, Nunukan Regency. The goods of global resource industries pass through the post-industrial city in the form of piles, pipelines, tanks, and silos. Gravel, salt, sand, cobbles, and scrap metal are some of the materials fundamental to making and maintaining the urban environment, but their physical and operational relationship to the city is largely unconsidered beyond conventional single-use zoning practices that simply isolate such resource industries from so-called incompatible uses.

One of the most important areas of development in Ukraine is the road sector. It belongs to the strategic sectors of the national economy, and the public road network is a significant component of Ukraine's infrastructure potential. The length and condition of road affects not only the safety and quality, mobility and employment, accessibility of educational and other services, but also causes changes in the temp and flow of capital in Ukraine, and is a necessary prerequisite for recovery competitiveness of the country's economy as a whole. Three international transport corridors pass through Ukraine, which are combined with four national transport corridors. They all pass through the Kyiv region. An urgent problem for Kyiv today is the construction of a Large Ring Road (hereinafter referred to as the "LRR") around Kyiv city, which should relieve the flow of transit transport through the capital of Ukraine, reduce harmful emissions from exhaust gases, and preserve the city roads from being destroyed by excessive vehicles, that are now creating a global city problem.

The Surabaya City Government has built a box culvert in the Gunungsari Diversi channel for the Sememi segment to Banjar Sugihan and the Kandangan pump house. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the operational impact of the Kandangan pump on the Sememi box culvert capacity. Therefore, the Surabaya City Government built the Sememi box culvert as a long storage in the primary channel of the Gunungsari diversion in order to reduce inundation as well as function as a road that can overcome congestion in the area. The Surabaya City Government has also built a Kandangan pump house as an outlet rather than a long storage at the Gunungsari version. The reduction of inundation and congestion can increase the wheels of the economy which have a global impact on cities around Surabaya as well as a smoother access road for the people in West Surabaya to the middle of the city.
