É direito do cego o acesso a Universidade e a cargos públicos. In It is the right of the blind to have access to university and to public office. To do so,selective processes need to adapt to meet this demand. The National High School Exam - ENEM, which is growing exponentially and ensuring access to much higher education - is available to the blind candidate to test Braille and ledor, volunteer candidate to transcribe answers, essays, and to describe images for the blind candidates. However, several complaints about the performance of this volunteer add up, especially with regard to the subjective description of figures. Considering the maps as great importance in the examination of images, occurring in at least 5 per issue, the question is: how to improve the design of maps contained evidence of Brazilian inclusive public selection processes, so that their oral description is accurate to blind candidates? Through the recommendations on the use of the graphical variables of Bertin (1983), together with the recommendations of the area of Accessibility, and the opinions of two volunteers who have acted as ENEM lenders, this paper proposes recommendations for the elaboration of maps to be described orally to blind candidates on the exam.

The aim of this study is to analyze the selection process of teacher candidates in Turkey and Austria education systems. In the study, the Upper Austria Higher Education documents on the selection processes were examined and the teacher candidates' selection processes were observed. For the Turkish side, the higher education selection handbooks by Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) were examined and 96 teacher candidates were interviewed. According to the findings, in Austria's teacher education system, the students should volunteer to be a teacher and also must fulfill compliance of the profession. In Turkey, on the other hand, the teacher candidates were selected according to the central examination results conducted by ÖSYM. While scores are taken into account in the areas such as mathematics, social sciences, science, geometry, etc., the evaluation related to the individual reasons for seeking this profession, individuals' eligibility of the teaching profession and personal characteristics are not considered in this selection process. The interview results revealed that while some of the candidates were willing to become a teacher, others reported obligation to do so and some stated that they accidently selected to be a teacher.

This chapter provides an account of the nature and scope of political authority over higher education. The account sets out a proactive role for the state the autonomous flourishing of adults. It affirms the idea that the liberal state’s educational obligations to citizens extend beyond a basic or compulsory education, not only for reasons of political justice, but also because it is politically legitimate for the state to do so. The chapter defends this account against the concern that such authority is too paternalistic, and gives examples of how this conception of authority would apply (and not apply) to higher education.

Today's development requires people to have higher education and expertise in a particular field. Because of that, many universities or colleges are beginning to open new majors to suit the increasingly growing and diverse interests. However, the increasing number of majors could make it difficult for many high school students in determining the university or colleges and department they should take. A lack of understanding of their own personal interests and talents, as well as information about said universities or colleges and majors also add to the difficulty of choosing. Therefore, an interesting and simple media to help students to know their potential, provide information about the majors according to their interests, and help them determine the right path is needed. The concept of this major introducing game is based on sources such as interviews with interviewees and questionnaires. In the game, players can find out their interests, talents and appropriate majors, as well as courses and professions related to those majors. Aptitude test in this game is based on Holland’s Theory.

Choosing to enrol in a university and earn a degree is a decision that all high school graduates have to face. The options and opportunities available in the work field are too diverse and each student has to make a decision, whether to enrol in a university or not. The decision is based on a cost-benefit method, which transforms the pursuance of higher education into an economic matter. Therefore, after finishing high school, a student will utilize a cost-benefit procedure to arrive at the right decision. This leads to the serious question; do the benefits of university education outweigh the costs for Lebanese students? To answer this question a survey comprised of 1000 questionnaires along with ten hypotheses to be tested and analysed was adopted. Responses were divided into two groups. Some believed that, university education is a necessity and considered it as important as school itself for the growth, maturity, and the bright future of each person. Others, however, thought that it is a disadvantage not to enrol in a university and pursue higher education. Based on the results of this paper, a high percentage of Lebanese believe that the university offers an added value, and it is important for employment in the country. However, 53% believe that a non-graduate can perform the same job as a graduate, and finally, 60% believe that skills are more important than a degree when recruiting a new employee. Therefore, it is quite clear that university education is a necessary condition but not a sufficient one to guarantee a successful career. Hence, university education is as important as job experience and skills that add to the person’s assets.

The dynamics of several demographic indicators of Russia - child and teenage cohorts in 1970-2000, life expectancy in 1995-2000, migration flows among federal districts in the period between two censuses of 1989 and 2002 - are considered in the article. The author puts forward the hypothesis about the influence of these indicators on the level of education in narrow and broad senses - in educational institutions and the society as a whole. He estimates the perspectives of regional higher educational institutions under conditions of absence of plan distribution of graduates and the double cyclical fall in the number of high school graduates. The agenda for the development of a two-stage system of higher education corresponding with international integration processes is formulated.

Diagnostic factors of career self-determination of students studying in the third and fourth year were carried out using the author's questionnaire. Processing of obtained data was carried out using the Excel 2010 program; factorial and comparative analysis were applied. Results of the study showed that initial stage of career self-determination falls down on the third and fourth studying year at the university, when an image of future career and career orientations begin to form. At the same time, the content of career self-determination in this period is contradictory and uncertain, therefore, the implementation of pedagogical support of this process among students is effective.
