The broad objective of the study was to ascertain the nature of relationship existing between Strategic Thinking and the Competitive Advantage of SMEs in South-East Nigeria. The study deployed survey research design, with a population of three hundred and eleven (311) selected SMEs in Anambra and Abia State of southeast Nigeria, and a sample size of 172 arrived at using Krejcie and Morgan (1970) formula. Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to analyze the data, and hypothesis was tested at 5% level of significance. The findings revealed that a statistically significant relationship exists between Innovative Thinking and Value Creation of SMEs in South-East Nigeria (r = .972, p-value < 0.05). Sequel to this, it was concluded that the continuous existence of firms in a changing business environment require more than having resources of whatever kind; it transcends owning finance, equipment or even personnel. It was recommended among other things that owners of SMEs need to give other people, like family members and employees the opportunity to contribute to the innovative processes of their organization, as it will help them to create more value for their customers. Keywords: Strategic Thinking, Competitive Advantage, SME’s, Innovative Thinking and Value Creation.

Abstract Purpose: This study aimed to ascertain the role organizational climate could play in galvanizing the employees of commercial banks in southeast Nigeria for better performance through exhibiting greater engagement to their jobs and organizations. Research methodology: Survey Research Design was employed for the study. The study population consisted of 988 employees of 50 randomly selected commercial banks in the region studied. Data were elicited through a structured questionnaire while the analysis was carried out using Simple Regression Analysis and hypothesis tested at a 5% level of significance. Results: The findings showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between Distributive Justice Climate and Job Satisfaction in Microfinance Banks in South-East Nigeria (r = .962; R-Square = .926; F = 5865.689; p-value<.05) and that there is a statistically significant relationship existing between Open Communication Climate and Positive Meaning in Microfinance Banks in South-East Nigeria (r = .982; R-Square = .965; F = 13000.304; p-value<.05). Limitations: Because of the concentration of commercial banks in Anambra state, most of the banks selected for the study through a random method were from Anambra State. This could affect the generalizability of the findings. Contribution: This study contributed to the already existing body of knowledge on Organizational Climate and Employee Engagement. The study also revealed empirical results of the relationship between the variables of the study, specifically in commercial banks in South-East Nigeria.

Performance appraisal is a regular check which every organization adapts to regulate the performance of its establishment. It shows the relationships between outputs and input variables in organizations. The objective of the study is to review the performance of six Nigerian seaports between the periods of 2012-2017 by applying Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), General Linear Model (GLM), and Multivariate Analysis (MVA) models. Data collected from Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) statistics covers the periods (2012-2017) for each port. The empirical result shows that the following Seaports performed efficiently: Lagos Port (LP) in 2014, Tin Can Island Port (TCP) in 2014, Onne Port (OP) in 2014, and Calabar Port (CP) in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. The least efficient performed seaport is Delta Port (DP) in 2012. Hence, the most efficient port over the years under study is Calabar Port (CP) while least performed port is Delta Port (DP). The results of the regression model and the multivariate analysis reject the null hypothesis and accept that at 5% level of significance there is a significant relationship between the input variables and output variables of each port, even that P-value is less than 0.005 (P<0.05).

This is the dawn of an innovation and knowledge-driven economy, and the volatile business environment is forcing the industries to undergo a paradigm shift. This is causing volatility of business parameters from value creation to value maximization through reduction of value loss., instead of merely focusing on the value creation. This value maximization gels with quality, binding the end outcomes of enterprise, and quality of these end outcomes cumulatively shows the dependability towards the various inputs like man, money, material, machine, and information to innovate and re-innovate and measure continuously. Without saturation and to create value continuously in circular motion for spiral growth in circular economy all dimensions needs to be innovative to gain sustainable competitive advantage (SCA). The chapter is a study of concepts and models to impel the SCA. It analyzes innovation as a measure driver for SCA with various types of risk associated with it in the context of the circular economy.

Studies indicate that there is a relationship between project cost and construction time for different construction markets. The purpose of this study was to validate the time-cost relationship model developed by Bromilow et al. (1980) in the context of commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects in India. The model was extended to include the magnitude of the projects in terms of gross floor area and construction types, to determine whether these variables also have an effect on project duration. Data related to 99 construction projects from all over India were obtained. The SPSS® program and the General Linear Model were used for analysis. The results show a statistically significant relationship between construction time and magnitude of the project, measured by gross floor area, at the level of significance (p-value) of < 0.0001. This variable, when introduced the model, presumably acts as a proxy for actual construction cost. Construction type did not have a statistically significant relationship with construction time. A prediction model of construction time has been developed based on the results of the study. This model will be useful to constructors who work at an international level.

Aims: To determine the relationship between modules’ language contents and students learning engagement during the COVID 19 Study Design: Descriptive-correlational Place and Duration of Study: This study was conducted in Bato National High School, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur from February to June 2021. Methodology: This research used the  stratified random sampling. It involved 258 Grades 7-10 students. It utilized adopted questionnaires developed by Vergara (2017), Fredericks et al. (2005) and Moore and Lippman (2005).  Results: The level of language contents of the modules in English gained an overall mean of 4.05 (SD=0.94) described as “high.” All components under language contents had rated high as follows: presentation (4.05), communication style (4.07), assessment (4.05) and content (3.92). On the other hand, the level of student engagement gained an overall mean score of 3.96 (SD = 1.06) with a verbal description of “highly engaged.” All components under students engagement had rated high as follows: behavioral engagement (4.19), emotional engagement (4.04), and cognitive engagement (3.65). The tested hypothesis gained an r value of 0.633, and a p-value of 0.00 which is less than 0.01, the alpha level of significance is denoting a strong positive correlation between the level of language contents of the modules and engagement of students. Hence, it determined that there was a significant relationship between language content of the modules and engagement of students. Conclusion: Although all variables in the contents of the modules and engagement are rated high and highly engaged respectively, specific statements which are within the border of often and seldom may be given attention.  Moreover, the findings of this research shows significant relationship between language content of modules and students’ engagement may allow the module developers to consider that quality of modules is more relevant than quantity and that meaningful activities promote learners’ engagement.

Purpose: This study examined the relationship between Locus of Control (LOC) and Employee Embeddedness (EE) in Nigeria's selected commercial banks. Research Methodology: The study adopted a survey research design with a population of 400 employees. The sample size was 190 was determined using Krejcie and Morgan formula. A questionnaire was the instrument for data collection, while the analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics. The hypothesis was tested at a 5% level of significance, Results: Internal LOC has a statistically significant effect on sacrifice (R = .976; R-Square = .952; p-value < 0.05). Internal LOC makes it possible for employees to be more entangled in the organization, thereby making exiting the firms more difficult. Limitations: Data was not collected from different regions in Nigeria, hence limiting the study's generalizability. Contribution: This study represents the most recent LOC work, and it is novel in relating LOC to EE in Nigeria. Keywords: Locus of Control, Internal LOC, Employee job embeddedness, Sacrifice

The curriculum is the “source of life” for the school, which inherently determines its success or failure. Assessment of the effectiveness of a Psychology Curriculum will measure the level of Competency of the psychology graduates. The chief purpose of this study was to find out whether the 2009 revised BS Psychology curriculum is effective in developing the level of competency among 45 junior and senior psychology majors of Liceo de Cagayan University, Philippines, SY 2012-2013. It employed the descriptive design. Survey questionnaires were utilized as tools to gather the data which were collated and treated using the mean and regression analysis. The resultsreveal the computed p-value of the measured aspects of 2009 Revised Psychology Curriculum and its relationship to the overall level of competency of the Junior and Senior Psychology students. It can be gleaned that all of the areas/indicators of Curriculum such as Content (p-value=0.608), Facilities (p-value=0.316), Faculty Professionalism and Behavior (p-value=0.378) have no significant relationship to the level of competency since the p-values exceeded the 0.05 level of significance. It is logical to assume that what brought about these changes in their attitude, skills, and knowledge is the impact that the curriculum has made on their competencies. The study recommends that future researchers have to identify other indicators (e.g. syllabi content per major subject) of a curriculum which may predict or may have a significant relationship with the level of competency of psychology

The paper examines the specific knowledge universities transfer to industry, reflecting to creative industry needs. As results shows, the most asked alumni competences should be tacit knowledge and divergent thinking. Divergent thinking influence the creativity. Creativity is often defined as the ability to develop new and useful ideas, but in deep literature review, we can see few irregularities and different definitions of creativity. The paper also evaluates the importance of creativity from business environment point of view and from the creative industry perspective and creative firm owners. As point of view. Another key finding is, that to educate creative people will be one of the key competitive advantage, because mainly the ability to create and disseminate knowledge is often at the heart of the organization's competitive advantage not only in creative industry, but in transport industry as well.

Globalization changes the business environment, which demands change from every business organization involved, to succeed in the new environment. For that purpose, human resource management needs to be directed to the development of human capital, which assumes employees as assets, not costs, for the company. The implication is that management needs to recognize each of its employees in order to maximize their potential and manage it to be a competitive advantage. This is where performance management plays a very important role.
