The aim of this study is to determine the mediating effect of organizational agility on the impact of organizational culture on firm performance. Within the scope of the study, firstly, a conceptual framework about organizational culture, organizational agility and firm performance was created, and then the findings and results obtained from the survey application conducted within the scope of the research were included. The research sample consists of 140 company employees belonging to the Manufacturing, Service, IT, Retail and Agriculture sectors in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Tekirdağ, Kocaeli and Zonguldak. The survey data were collected by the online survey method using the non-coincidental convenience sampling method. Quantitative data analysis was applied in the research. The questionnaire form using a 5-point Likert scale consists of demographic questions and organizational culture, organizational agility and firm performance scales. In the study, in which structural equation modeling was preferred as a model, SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 22 package programs were used in the analysis of the data. Confirmatory factor analysis was checked for validity test and Cronbach's alpha values were checked for reliability. According to the findings of the study, organizational agility has a mediating effect on the effect of clan, adhocracy and hierarchy cultures on firm performance. However, the mediating effect of market culture could not be determined. In terms of demographic characteristics, significant differences were determined between perceptions of organizational culture, organizational agility and firm performance. Digitalization has significant power to boost the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Most scholars approached the phenomenon from different standpoints by examining the effects of information technology skills, digital skills, information systems capabilities, information and communication technologies (ICT) adoption, and digitalization on firm performance. However, although the terms are interrelated, the impact of digital maturity on SMEs' performance has been rarely investigated. Digital maturity examines the extent of digitalization and digital capabilities of organizations, which is essential in evaluating state-of-the-art organizations' digitalization efforts and providing a roadmap for further improvement. Although digitalization offers various benefits to organizations, its direct effect on the performance outcome is still arguable. Prior studies had revealed mixed findings when they assessed the impact of digital maturity on firm performance. Hence, some studies called for research for the examination of possible intervening variables. Consequently, this study examines the effects of digital maturity and organizational agility on firm performance. Furthermore, the moderating role of organizational agility in the digital maturity-firm performance link is also investigated. Data for testing the proposed model was collected from SMEs in the Marmara Region of Turkey using a convenience sampling technique. The structural equation modeling with partial least squares estimation (PLS-SEM) approach was used to analyze 119 responses collected from SMEs via face-to-face and online questionnaires. Eighty-two of the respondents identified themselves as entrepreneurs/partners. 13 respondents are senior executives, 14 are mid-level managers, 8 are white-collar employees, and two stated that they work in different positions than these. The findings show that organizational agility and digital maturity have a positive impact on firm performance. However, when the role of organizational agility is examined as a moderator, it is discovered that the factor reduces the effect of digital maturity on firm performance.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between psychological contract, employee's loyalty and organizational trust. Moreover, the study clarified the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between psychological contract and employee's loyalty. Finally, the study shows the mediating effect of organizational trust on the relationship between psychological contract and employee's loyalty. Design/methodology/approach – This study is based on questionnaire method distributed on employees working at a private education institution; which is Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). Findings – Results based on a structural equation modeling for data analysis indicated that psychological contract has significant effect on both employee’s loyalty and organizational trust and there was a significant relationship between Organizational Trust and Employees Loyalty. Furthermore, the significant moderator role of organizational culture and organizational trust. Practical implications – The findings are important to enable decision makers to Studying this topic will lead to necessary understanding of the root cause of psychological contract violation in the Egyptian environment, enable organizations to build and maintain the necessary mutual trust with employees. As well as open, the research field to others to study the variables and other aspects that contribute to maintaining the success of the organizations and institutions operating in Egypt. Research limitations– The primary limitation of this study is the scope of its sample.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the relationships among supply chain management (SCM) implementation, human resource management (HRM) practices and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) firm performance in Thailand. It further examines whether HRM practices have a mediating effect on such relationship. Design/methodology/approach A survey instrument was developed based on the literature review which then was verified by SCM expert opinions. Cross-sectional surveys of sample employees of SMEs in Thailand were undertaken by both direct and mail surveys. Of about 779 questionnaires distributed, 203 usable questionnaires were returned. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was performed to analyze the obtained data. Findings The statistical results reveal that SCM indirectly improves firm performance of small- and medium-sized firms through HRM practices. The latter, HRM practices, is found to fully mediate the impact of SCM implementation on SME firm performance. These results suggest that SCM cannot enhance SME firm performance if its implementation is undertaken without effective HRM practices. Originality/value This study identified the research gap in SCM areas by recognizing the scarcity of research on SCM in SMEs and by identifying and integrating HRM practices as a significant behavioral support system to SCM implementation in SMEs. Its results reveal that HRM practices fully mediates the impact of SCM on SMEs’ firm performance.

This study aims to investigate the impact of parental career behaviors on undergraduate student’s career exploration and the mediating role of career self-efficacy. In the literature it is suggested that some social and individual factors facilitate students’ career exploration. Therefore, parental career behaviors and career self-efficacy is considered as predictors of student’s career exploration attitudes within the scope of the study. In this respect, data which are collected from 405 undergraduate students having an education on tourism and hotel management field by the survey method are analyzed by using the structural equation modeling. The results of the study indicate that parental career behaviors which are addressed support; interference and lack of engagement have a significant effect on student’s career exploration behaviors such as intended-systematic exploration, environment exploration and self-exploration. In addition, it has been found that one of the dimensions of parental career behaviors addressed as a lack of engagement has a significant effect on career self-efficacy levels of students. However, research results indicate that student’s career self-efficacy has a significant effect on only the self-exploration dimension. On the other hand, career self-efficacy has a partial mediating role between lack of engagement attitudes of parents and career exploration behaviors of students.

With the advent of the Internet and other digital technologies, contemporary businesses from all sectors are using social media for communication with consumers to engage them meaningfully with a brand. However, the use of social media for corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication is relatively new to the existing literature. Likewise, the impact of CSR communication through social media (CSR-S) on consumer emotions and behavior is, to date, underexplored. To address this, the present research aims to test the relationship of CSR-S on brand admiration and consumer purchase intention. The study proposes a direct relationship between CSR-S and purchase intention with a mediating effect of brand admiration. The data were collected from the banking consumers of Pakistan through a self-administered questionnaire. The authors distributed 800 questionnaires and received 463 questionnaires useful for data analysis, so the present research study response rate was around 59%. The data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique in AMOS. The results revealed that CSR-S is positively related to purchase intention (β = 0.233). The results further showed that brand admiration partially mediates this relationship (β = 0.079). The survey respondents confirmed that their bank’s CSR communication helps enhance their purchase likelihood and their feelings of admiration for their bank. These findings will help policymakers at banking institutions better understand the importance of CSR communication on different social media platforms to achieve consumer-related outcomes.

The present study focused on the psychological impact that the lockdown due to coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) had on families in Italy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Italian government imposed a strict lockdown for all citizens. People were forced to stay at home, and the length of the lockdown was uncertain. Previous studies analyzed the impact of social distance measures on individuals' mental health, whereas few studies have examined the interplay between the adults' functioning, as parents, during this period and the association with the child's adjustment. The present study tested if maternal distress/coping predicts children's behaviors during the COVID-19 lockdown, hypothesizing a mediation effect via children's emotional experience. Participants were 144 mothers (Mage = 39.3, 25–52, SD = 5.6) with children aged 5–10 years (Mage = 7.54, SD = 1.6, 82 boys); mothers answered to an online survey. Results indicated that mothers with higher exposure to COVID-19 showed higher levels of distress and higher display of coping attitudes, even if in the structural equation modeling model, the COVID-19 exposure was not a predictor of mothers' distress. Compared with mothers with good coping skills, mothers with higher stress levels were more likely to attribute negative emotions to their children at the expense of their positive emotions. Moreover, children's emotions acted as mediators between maternal distress/coping and children's adaptive/maladaptive behaviors. In conclusion, it is important to support parents during pandemic emergence, by providing them with adequate information to manage the relationship with their children, to reduce their level of distress and to enhance their coping abilities.

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style, competence, compensation on employee performance and the impact on organizational performance on the employees of the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities. This study used a survey method by distributing questionnaires to employees of the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities. As the respondent. This research method uses quantitative methods with technical analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the AMOS version 22 application. The research sample used in this study were 158 respondents. The results showed that leadership style, competence and compensation directly had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Leadership style, competence and compensation directly have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. Leadership style, competence and compensation indirectly have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance through employee performance.

Although prior studies draw upon natural resource-based views, environmental strategy permits competitive advantages, and as such, gains financial performance. However, empirical results are mixed. To shed light on this issue, this study proposes that environmental performance mediates the link between environmental strategy and financial performance. Data were collected from 175 third-party logistic providers currently operating in Vietnam to test the hypotheses. Partial least square structural equation modeling was borrowed to test the data. The results reveal environmental performance partially mediates the link between environmental strategy and financial performance. By considering the mediating effect, this study contributes to the literature by addressing the intervening mechanism of environmental performance on the inconclusive relationship between environmental strategy and financial performance. Besides, this study also extends prior studies by borrowing a concept of environmental strategy, which captures the extent of organizations pursuing this strategy, to explain how and why pursuing this strategy permits environmental and financial performance.

This study analyzes the causal relationship between sustainable manufacturing practice (SMP) and environmental sustainability as well as determines the mediating effect of innovation performance (IP) on the relationship between SMP and environmental sustainability. Adaptation from the changing business environment, manufacturing firms are facing great challenge on producing more products with less resource consumption, pollution emitted and waste generated. Using structural equation modeling, the survey data collected from 150 Malaysian manufacturing firms has been analyzed in this study. The empirical results show that both types of SMP have a positive and significant impact on environmental sustainability with external SMP is greater than internal SMP. However, there is no significant evidence to prove IP as a mediator for SMP-environmental sustainability linkage. The findings of this paper have important implication in both theoretical and practical perspectives. While provide better understanding of the phenomena by simultaneously analyzing a series of dependence relationships among SMP, IP and environmental sustainability, these results could help managers to understand the types of practices that would improve their environmental performance.

This study examines the impact of ICT access and ICT skills on e-government development in 135 countries globally. Whilst extant studies in information systems research have examined the factors that lead to successful e-government development, these studies fail to view ICT access and skills as dual necessities such that without either, the success of e-government development can be derailed. Previous studies have also failed to consider the mediating effect of a country's political and regulatory environment on e-government development. The authors address these by relying on secondary data and partial least squares-structural equation modeling to test a model based on the technology-organization-environment framework. The results show that ICT skills positively influences e-government development, whilst ICT access and the political and regulatory environment do not. Furthermore, the political and regulatory environment was found to positively mediate the link between ICT access and e-government development. Whilst the findings make important contributions to e-government research at the global level, this research provides some implications for policy and practice.
