Analysis of Diabetes Research Literature in India during 2019: A Scientometric Study

This study analyses the research output in diabetes literature in India during 2019 indexed on Web of Science database on several aspects includes growth, rank and global publication and share of international collaborative papers. It also analyses the most productive authors, top journals, on-year wise distribution, country wise distribution and authorship pattern of contribution. The highest number of scientific outputs belongs to USA, UK, Netherland, India followed by other countries which considerably had a lower rate of publication. Among all authors globally V. Mohan contributed 75 articles on Diabetes literature. From this study it was concluded that the publication on Diabetes literature was increased and more participation should be needed for the growth of Diabetes literature nationally throughout countries.

The present study aims at describing both the common and the distinguishing features of co authorship trends and patterns in Dyxlexia research output based on the data collected from Web of science database published during the 1989-2017. Outcome of the study shows that multi authored articles 83.09% prevail the single authored articles 16.96%. It also shows that author Shaywitz SE J has got highest 7383 global citations against 54 publications. This study is in support for the fact that Dyslexia research output is collaborative in all aspects Ranking of Authors based on Publications.

The paper analysis authorship patterns and collaborative research of oncology research in Indiaas reflected by the research papers listed in Web of Science database for a period of 11 years from 2005-2015. The increased trend towards multiple authorship is predominant as compare to single authorship in case ofoncology in India.In the study, the degree of collaboration was not a constant value, it reveals varies of 0.03 to 0.16 percent and the mean quality as 0.09. The analysis found that single author papers maintained a low profile among oncology research scientists and the multi authorship pattern is expanding slowly in Indian oncology research.

Scientometrics study is one of the most efficient methods of quantitative evaluation of the scientific publication. Coronaviruses are one of the common viruses affect the human and animals some time. There is 7 type of corona already in existence, but the recent Coronavirus called novel corona (Covid19) which spreads among human rapidly. This study is to know the recent research publication of Coronavirus from the web of science, especially after December 2019, where the real spreads started and impact the world economy due to lock down. The data for this study is retrieved from the web of science for the year of 2018, 2019, and 2020 (till March). This study is an attempt to know the publication pattern, year-wise growth of publications, country-wise research output, and top-cited paper. Also, this paper is focusing on the research output of China and Wuhan University in the publications and the Wuhan University’s participation in this research publication during the period.

The study aims to evaluate the celiac disease research publications in the Web of Science database from the years 2015 to 2018. The keyword used the term "Celiac Disease" from the Web of Science database collects the records. A total of 4147 records were collected from this study of Celiac disease. The highest productive year is 2017 with 1062 records (25.61%) and the last position of papers was published 1016(24.50%) in the year is 2016. The table provides the value of the average RGR of publications, which decreased from 6.93537 in 2015 to -0.01997 in 2018. At the same time, the value of doubling time (DT) of publications increased from 0.099923 (2015) to -34.6983 (2018). It has shown that the degree of collaboration range from zero to 0.95. The most prolific author Lebwohl B occupied in first position 107(2.58%) records. The most productive country USA placed in the topmost position with 1149(27.71%) records. The authorship pattern of celiac disease research this table notes that the majority of the articles were contributed by four authors 549(13.24%). These three authors were contributed 538(12.97%) second position of papers in this study. The first position of the journal is Gastroenterology published records with 260(6.27%). The language-wise distributions of published records in Celiac disease research in this present study. The most productive language is English with 4032(97.23%), and the last productivity language is Icelandic with 1(0.02%) publications. The Study concludes that Celiac Disease Research lags in this research, so come forward with financial institutions to encourage researchers and scientists to develop celiac research.

This paper discusses or analyses trends in Liver Disease research during from 2012-2017, the data have been collected from web of science database. Aim of the study to analyze source wise research output, year wise publications, authorship pattern, and country wise research. The study finds that articles occupies first place among various forms of sources, during the study period in the year 2016 published highest research output, INDIA have published highest publication among the Liver Disease, majority research papers published themes of Liver Disease in medical field.

This research paper deals with an analysis on Bibliometric study from the results of the International Journal of Paediatric Surgery. The entire data were retrieved from the database called Web Of Science (WOS) during the period 1989-2016. During this period of 28 years the Paediatric Surgery Journal (PSJ) has published 5,528 numbers of research papers. Based on this, the year 1998 has got the highest score of 273 research records. According to the ranking of author Puri P has produced his highest contribution of 243 research records which is about 4.4% of the total contribution.

PurposeThe present study aims to measure the global research landscape on coronavirus indexed in the Web of Science from 1989 to 2020. The study examines growth rates, authorship trends, institutional productivity, collaborative networks and prominent authors, institutions and countries.Design/methodology/approachThe research literature on coronavirus published globally and indexed in the Web of Science core collection was retrieved using the term “Coronavirus” and its related and synonymous terms (e.g. COVID-19, SARS-COV, SARS-COV-2 and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus) as per the Medical List of Subject Headings. A total of 5,625 publications were retrieved; however, the study was restricted to articles only (i.e. 4,471), and other document types were excluded. Quantitative and visualization techniques were used for data analysis and interpretation. VOSViewer software was employed to map collaborative networks of authors, institutions and countries.FindingsA total of 4,471 articles have been published on coronavirus by 99 countries of the world with the maximum contribution from the USA, followed by the People's Republic of China. The United States, China, Canada, Netherlands and Germany are the front runners in the collaborative network and form strong sub-networks with other countries as well. More than 1,000 institutions collaborate in the field of coronavirus research among 99 contributing countries. The authorship pattern shows that 97.5% of publications are contributed by authors in collaboration in which 77.5% of publications are contributed by four or more than four authors. The range between degree of collaboration (DC) varies from 0.89 in 1993 to 1 in 2000 with an average of 0.96 from 1989 to 2020. The results confirm that the coronavirus research is carried out in teamwork at the individual, institutional and global levels with high magnitude and density of collaboration. The relative growth of the literature has shown inconsistency as a decreasing trend has been observed from 2007 onwards, thereby increasing the doubling time from 4.2 in the first ten years to 17.3 in the last ten years.Research limitationsThe study is limited to the publications indexed in the Web of Science; the findings cannot be generalized across other databases.Practical implicationsThe results of the study may help medical scientists to identify the progress in COVID-19 research. Besdies, it will help to identify the prolific authors, institutions and countries in the development of research.Social implicationsThe current COVID-19 pandemic poses urgent and prolonged threats to the health and well-being of the population worldwide. It has not only attacked the health of the people but the economy of nations as well. Therefore, it is feasible to know the research landscape of the disease to conquer the problem.Originality/valueThe current COVID-19 pandemic poses urgent and prolonged threats to the health and well-being of the population worldwide. The study aims to do the scientometric analysis of global research output of media literacy during last 30 years. These 30 years produced 1038 documents on media literacy which have been cited 15.37 per cent citation per item. Most of the articles were published during the block 2017-2020. Multiple co-authorship has been the trend in media literacy research. Primack, B (18), Austin, E. W. (17) and Hobbs, K. (14) are identified as the most prolific authors. Communicar with 96 publications is the most productive journal. Korea, South Africa and Norway registered the highest multiple collaboration ratio (MCR). USA, United Kingdom and Australia are the leading countries in terms of citations received. The co-authorship network reflects 175 clusters about the authors who came together to contribute on media literacy. Further co-occurrence of keywords is given on the basis of author keywords in which media literacy had the total link strength (TLS) of 729 with 329 documents.

This article presents the research output of Yoga in India using different Scientometric approach both quantitative and qualitative methods. Bibliographic data for the study has been collected from the Web of Science Core Collection online database of Thomson Scientific, USA. The strings ‘Yoga and India’ in the topic and address field are used for retrieving data. Researcher have published 525 publications with 6683 Global Citations Scores (H-Index: 45) were selected and 525 publications which were used for further data analysis. Prominent Authors were identified by name, subject domain and able to place their papers in high impact journals. Moreover it has identified Countries wise collaboration of the research. 8 papers are received more than 100 citations. India has collaborated with 32 countries.

Purpose: The primary objective of this research paper was to explore the current state-of-the-art research on autism spectrum disorder from a designer's perspective. An increasing number of scholarly publications in this discipline have urged researcher interest in this topic; however, there is still a lack of quantitative analysis. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze global research output on autism spectrum disorder from a designer's perspective during 1992–2021. Methodology: A bibliometric method was employed to analyze the published literature from 1992–2021. 812 papers were downloaded from the Web of Science core collection for analysis focused on annual growth of literature, prolific authors, authorship pattern, productive organizations, countries, international collaboration, literature trends by keyword analysis, and identifying the funding agencies. Various bibliometrics and scientometrics software were used to analyze the data, namely Bibexcel, Biblioshiny, and VOS viewer. Results: There were 812 research papers published in 405 sources during 1992–2021. 2019 was noted as the most productive year (NP=101), and 2014 received the highest number of citations (TC=6634). Researchers preferred to publish as journal articles (NP=538; TC=24922). The University of Toronto, Canada, was identified as a productive institution with 42 publications and 5358 citations. The USA was the leading producing country with 433 publications, and most of the researchers publish their work in the journal "Scientific Reports" (NP=16). The word "autism" (NP=257) and "architecture" (NP=165) were the most frequently used keywords in autism research.
