Purpose – The aim of the study is to investigate the impact of job stress on job satisfaction of employees and also to find out the drivers for the job stress, which contribute to create job stress which ultimately negatively affect job satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach – The study is mainly based on review of the existing literature and collection of data through an adopted questionnaire survey, conducted from the selected sample of Air Traffic Controllers of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. A total of 134 questionnaires were distributed among the sample which is selected using the technique of cluster sampling. 122 respondents returned the questionnaire, which are utilized for the analysis purpose. Findings – The results of the current study indicate that there is a negative relationship between job stress and job satisfaction. Those air traffic controllers who had high level of job stress had low job satisfaction. Research limitations – This research paper is based on a specific case of Air Traffic Controllers of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. So the results are applicable specifically to Air Traffic Controllers of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority or other fields in the same industry. A quantitative methodology is used to investigate the problem. Future research can investigate the problem by using a mix of quantitative and qualitative research methodology. Practical implications – The practical implications of the paper include implementation of the results provided by researcher to decrease the employees’ level of stress and increase job satisfaction level. Originality/value – The study is conducted first time in the field specifically highlighting the stress issue. Purpose – This study aims to evaluate both intelligence and job satisfaction of workers in the USA and China. Each topic will be studied individually, first, to determine the relationship between intelligence and job satisfaction. The statistics between China and the USA will then be compared and contrasted to assess how different cultures will affect emotional intelligence and job satisfaction of those in the workforce. Design/methodology/approach – A review of the empirical studies on intelligence and job satisfaction was performed and used to develop a model to guide future research. Findings – There is a negative relationship between intelligence and job satisfaction in the USA, but no studies have been done to compare both constructs cross-culturally. Research limitations/implications – The proposed study can be used to gain an understanding of the relationship between intelligence and job satisfaction across different cultures. Practical implications – The link between job satisfaction and intelligence can be used by employers to determine information about other aspects of their business, such as turnover rates of productive employees. Originality/value – Although there has been some research on the relation between intelligence and job satisfaction, notably by Ganzach (1998), very little has been done across cultures.

The healthcare industry is becoming one of the most growing concerns among people in Malaysia. This industry is expected to provide efficient and effective services to the community. This study is aimed to examine the relationship between the dimension job burnout, which includes emotional exhaustion, personal accomplishment, and depersonalization with job satisfaction among healthcare providers in the healthcare industry at the northern part of Malaysia. A quantitative methodology was applied in this study where 200 questionnaires had been distributed. Only 171 questionnaires were collected and returned back. Out of that number, only 156 questionnaires were fit to be analysed. It was found that all of the burnout dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment) have a significant relationship to job satisfaction. Multiple Regression analyses have found that 2 of the independent variables had a negative relationship with job satisfaction (emotional exhaustion and depersonalization). Personal accomplishment is the most significant and had a strong relationship with job satisfaction. It is recommended for future research to conduct qualitative research to find diversity in the result, emphasising on other professions, including a firefighter, police officer, custom immigration officer, or any other enforcement profession which seems to have an issue with job burnout. It is challenging to conduct this research due to the geographical location since the location for this study is in the northern part of Malaysia. It involves many hospitals, clinics as well as patient-oriented personnel. On the other hand, future research may include a bigger number of medical and healthcare personnel all over Malaysia to get a better generalisation. A wider scope of the population will provide better findings that cover all spectrum of the healthcare provider.

The main idea behind this study is to examine the impact of role ambiguity and role conflict on job satisfaction. This study also assesses the moderating effect of Islamic work ethics, role ambiguity, role conflict and also examine the mediating effect of job stress between role ambiguity, role conflict and job satisfaction. The questionnaire was used for data collection. 200 questionnaires were distributed among respondent out of which 175 were used for data analysis statistically descriptive statistics correlation and regression analysis were used for testing hypothesis. The finding of this study reveal that the role conflict has a negative relationship with job satisfaction and job stress has an insignificant relationship with the job satisfaction. This study also reveal that the role stressor should be controlled so that an increase in job satisfaction. When both role ambiguity and role conflict increase job stress also increase and the Islamic work ethics has a negative impact on job stress. Job stress significantly partially mediate the relationship between role conflict and job satisfaction.

First of all, the concept of SA as well as SA assessment methods was introduced in this paper. According to the summation of plateau airport situation, the impact of exposure to plateau environment on controllers SA was analyzed in details. Finally, it reveals what the trend of research on air traffic controllers SA is and what the core problems to be solved are.

The present research examined the association between dimensions of perfectionism and indices of job stress and perceptions of organizational support in teachers. A sample of 62 teachers completed measures of self-oriented, other-oriented, and socially prescribed perfectionism as assessed by the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale. In addition, subjects completed the Teacher Stress Inventory and the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support. Measures of job satisfaction, job expectancy, and absenteeism were also obtained. The results indicated a pervasive positive association between socially prescribed perfectionism and various indices of teacher stress, including the intensity and frequency of professional distress, emotional manifestations, and physiological manifestations. A significant association was also detected between socially prescribed perfectionism and low job satisfaction. Self-oriented and other-oriented perfectionism dimensions were not correlated significantly with the measures of teacher stress. It is concluded that social expectations of perfectionism are highly relevant to an understanding of teacher stress. The results are discussed in terms of the practical implications of these data and directions for future research.

Purpose: It is evident employee react negatively and have experienced psychosomatic effects like depression, anxiety, insecurity and fear as a reaction of merger and acquisition, which reflect negative effect on employee performance, high turnover intention or absenteeism as employee reaction to change. The present study intent to understand the impact valuable perceived social support in enhancing employee job satisfaction and to persuade them not to switch the organization specifically due to structural change i.e. M&A. Design / methodology: The study is cross sectional, data collected convenience non-random sampling technique from MCB Bank employee experiencing structural change (MCB-NIB) merger. Total of 350 responses using Smart PLS were analyzed. Findings: It was found that perceived social support positively associated to job satisfaction. Job satisfaction negatively related to turnover intention and mediated the link between perceived social support and turnover intention. Research limitations: This study finding carries certain limitations like the data acquired gathered from one region which may indicate unfairness. It is cross sectional study so causal links cannot be established future research particular to longitudinal studies. This study only involved employees of banking sector from one province of Pakistan, still issue of generalizability cannot be ruled out.  Practical implications: The study possess a number of practical implications as an outcome of present study stresses that executive need to provide in order to implement change. As Merger practice modifies the current organizational culture, working environments, and operations, employee feel negative and show fear of downsizing or restructuring. Thus managers and policy makers need to establish mechanism where employee may get enough support. Originality / value:  The present study is distinctive in a way it has covered that employee developing their confidence, morale, acceptance and perception level, regarding change experience such as satisfaction with the job as an important mediating mechanism, which deal and overcome emotional response of an individual who intent from company at the time of change.

This study seeks to determine the impact of job stress and workload on turnover intention along with the mediation role of job satisfaction. A total of 140 academics and management personnel participated in this study’s survey. A partial least square structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. The results show that job stress and workload have a positive effect on turnover intention, while job satisfaction mediates the relationship between job stress, workload, and turnover intention. Future research could adapt and adopt the herein used methodology and research topic to other countries or in other industries.

The current research investigates the impact of internal corporate social responsibility on job satisfaction in Jordanian pharmaceutical companies. Quantitative research design and regression analysis were applied on a total of 302 valid returns that were obtained in a questionnaire based survey from 14 pharmaceutical companies among employees, supervisors and managers. The results showed that internal corporate social responsibility was significantly related to job satisfaction and three of its dimensions, namely working conditions, work life balance and empowerment contributed significantly to job satisfaction, whereas employment stability and skills development had no contribution. This study implies that Jordanian pharmaceutical companies have to try their best to promote and facilitate internal corporate social responsibility among their employees in an effort to improve their job satisfaction, which will eventually yield positive results for the company as a whole. In light of these results, the research presented many recommendations for future research; the most important ones were the application of this study in other sectors, cultures, and countries, and using of multi method for collecting data.
