The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between psychological capital and meaning in work among the employees of Shahid Beheshti University. The statistical population of this study includes all of the employees that were working in Shahid Beheshti University in 2011 and then a sample of 103 employees was selected from them randomly. In order to collect the data, two standard questionnaires were used. These include the questionnaire of psychological capital that was developed by Lotanz et al. in 2077 and the questionnaire of meaning that is developed by Stager et al. in 2010. The results of this study indicate that there are significant positive relationships among the components of psychological capital (including self-efficiency, optimism, hopefulness, and flexibility) and the components of meaning in work (positive meaning, meaning-making through work, and creating good motivations). On the other hand, the results of regression analysis indicate that two components of psychological capital (including self-efficiency and hopefulness) have more predictability of meaning in work. There are many factors that can lead to internship satisfaction. Working environment is one of the factors that will result to such outcome. However, many organizations discarded the fact of its importance. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a significant relationship between working environment and internship satisfaction level as well as to determine whether the dimensions of working environment significantly affect internship satisfaction. The said dimensions are, learning opportunities, supervisory support, career development opportunities, co-workers support, organization satisfaction, working hours and esteem needs. A total of 111 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and were processed by SPSS program to obtain the result of this study. The results reveal that learning opportunities, career development opportunities, organization satisfaction and esteem needs are factors that contribute to internship satisfaction level. In the other hand, supervisory support, co-workers support and working hours are factors that lead to internship dissatisfaction. The result also shows that organization satisfaction is the strongest factor that affects internship satisfaction while co-workers support is the weakest.

Studier, der analyserer det sociale med inspiration fra Foucaults tanker om governmentality, kritiseres i stigende omfang for at afskære sig fra at analysere de praktiske relationer, som politisk styring konkret indlejres i. I artiklen tager vi afsæt i denne kritik og viser, med et studie af forholdet mellem et kommunalt jobcenter og et lokalt beskæftigelsesråd, hvordan governmental magtanalyse kan indfange styringens uforudsigelige, mangefacetterede og immanente karakter ved at fokusere på styringsintentionernes møde med den praktiske virkelighed, der søges styret. Formelt er rådet nedsat til at overvåge og kontrollere jobcentret, men i den praktiske relation er det snarere jobcentret, som overvåger og kontrollerer rådet. Artiklen viser, hvordan dette er muligt ved at analysere jobcentrets arbejde med rådet ved hjælp af en række centrale begreber fra Foucaults forfatterskab. Empirisk trækker studiet foruden formelle myndighedsdokumenter, der beskriver rådets tiltænkte rolle, på praksisinformerende empiri i form af kvalitative interviews og mødereferater over en fire-årig periode. Analyzing the Space between the Intentions of Governing and Situational Praxis Studies working with the Foucauldian concept of ”governmentality” are frequently criticized for their apparent disregard of empirical reality. This article takes this critique as its point of departure and demonstrates the application of the concept of governmentality in a concrete empirical case study in order to grasp the unpredictable and multifaceted nature of modern day power. The case investigated here is the relationship between a Danish Jobcentre and a so-called local employment council (LBR). The latter was created to ”control” and ”monitor” the former organization. However, in practice, it is rather the other way around – the Jobcentre is controlling and monitoring the members of the LBR. This article draws on a number of well-known Foucauldian concepts to show how this relation of power is practically structured. Empirically the article draws on documents from central authorities as well as on a number of qualitative interviews with the actors involved – hence, the article attempts to meet with the dominant overall critique of the governmentality perspective for disregarding empirical reality. The purpose of this research to "investigate the relationship between personality and conservatism of investors of insurance companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange." The present study was applied research in terms of purpose, which has employed a descriptive and correlational method. The statistical population of this research included all people who buy and sell shares of insurance companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. According to Cochran's formula, the sample size was determined as much as 384 people collected by a simple random sampling method. The research instruments were the Conservative Questionnaire based on the Gribel and Leighton (1999) and McCrae and Costa (1985) five-factor personality questionnaire. The questionnaire’s validity was confirmed by 20 experts, and the reliability of all three questionnaires was acceptable for all three questionnaires due to Cronbach's alpha above 0.79. The data analysis was conducted using the Pearson correlation test and regression analysis. The results indicated a significant relationship between the investors’ personality and their conservatism in the Tehran Stock Exchange. There was also a significant relationship between all personality components except for extraversion with the investor’s conservatism in the Tehran Stock Exchange.

This article examines one of the key competencies of the 21st century known as cultural intelligence (CQ). This study investigates the relationship between CQ, organizational culture, and the effectiveness of staff in the industry, mine, and trade organizations of Semnan province in Iran. Using correlational analysis, the statistical population includes a total of 103 people from 141 employees based on personnel department documents. Three questionnaires were used to measure the variables and descriptive and deductive statistics were applied to evaluate and analyze the data. The Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used in deductive statistics to obtain the results. The findings show there is a significant relationship between CQ, organizational culture, and effectiveness. Among four cultural intelligence factors, only the knowledge of CQ can predict the effectiveness. The calculated correlation coefficient indicates that the creativity factors and communication pattern have the highest correlation coefficients.

AbstractHappiness and well-being at work has been an increasingly popular topic in the past two decades in academic and business contexts alike, along with positive psychology, through which organizations aim to find out, what makes working environments engaging and motivating. Few studies have focused on education, however, especially from a solution-focused perspective, even though it is a sector where employees are highly exposed to stress and burnout. Accordingly, the purpose of his study was to investigate the relationship between teachers’ psychological resources through the concept of psychological capital, workplace well-being and perceived workplace happiness. We used both qualitative (open-ended question) and quantitative (test battery) methods to examine the relation between the various factors. Content analysis of responses in our qualitative research suggests that the main pillars of teachers’ workplace happiness were realization of goals, feedback, finding meaning in work and social relationships. The results of our quantitative study indicated that workplace well-being and happiness correlated with inner psychological resources, hope and optimism in particular. We conclude that the future focus on employee well-being must take into account positive contributing factors and adopt a positively-oriented approach to promoting well-being. Suggestions for practical implications are also discussed.

This research attempts to present an approach for achieving the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and human resource empowerment (HRE) among staff at University of Isfahan. Statistical population of the study was all of the staff in administrative – financial, education-cultural, and research sectors at University of Isfahan. Among them statistical sample was selected randomly. Research method was descriptive – correlative and data was collected using two questionnaires: psychological empowerment and organizational citizenship behavior. Mentioned questionnaires had content validity and their reliability was .88 and .86 respectively that were calculated through Choronbachُs Alpha. Findings showed that there was a positive and significant relation between total psychological empowerment and organizational citizenship behavior.There was a relation between impact and meaning with organizational citizenship behavior. Also, there showed a significant relation between first pair of focal variables including competence with linear combine all of organizational citizenship behavior variables.

Most of the genetic diversity of North American alfalfa cultivars has been accounted for by nine germplasm sources listed in descending order of winter hardiness as follows: Medicago sativa ssp. falcata, Ladak, M. sativa ssp. xvaria, Turkistan, Flemish, Chilean, Peruvian, Indian and African. In most instances, the breeder assigns a fall dormancy score and the relative proportions of each of the nine germplasm source for each cultivar at registration. The fall dormancy score (1 = dormant to 9 = non-dormant), determined by measuring plant height in October after harvest in early September, is used to indicate cultivar adaptation for different regions. This study examines the relationship between germplasm composition and plant height, the equivalence of fall dormancy. The signs on the partial regression coefficients of a multiple regression analysis of plant height on the proportional content of the nine sources of germplasm showed that the fall dormancy fell essentially into two classes, namely, a dormant category, comprising cultivars containing a large contribution of Falcata and Ladak, and a non-dormant category, in which Indian and African germplasm predominate. This does not necessarily preclude the influence of any of the other germplasm sources on fall dormancy, since they represent a rich source of diversity. However, nine distinct classes were not recognisable, perhaps because of the lack of an exact equivalence between fall dormancy class and plant height of the fall regrowth. Since these observations have not been derived in a common nursery, the latitude and latitude × cultivar effects have been disregarded. These limitations should be recognized when using the currently assigned fall dormancy ratings to predict cultivar adaptation. Key words: Alfalfa, fall dormancy, sources of germplasm
