This paper aimed to investigate the transformational leadership behavior of high school students according to leisurepreferences and participation type. 226 high school students attending Bursa Atatürk High School participated in thestudy voluntarily. In the study, to collect data transformational and transactional leadership scale developed byBaşoğlu (2013a) was revised and used. The construct validity of the scale assessed by confirmatory & explanatoryfactor analyzes. To investigate the differences between the participants' transformational leadership behavior KruskalWallis and Mann Whitney U nonparametric tests used. As a result, this study showed that students who chosephysical activities and who actively involved in leisure activities showed more transformational leadership than theother students.

The decrease in physical activity among adolescents has become a global health problem. From the educational point of view, preventing sedentarism is of uttermost importance to avoid repercussions on economic and social levels. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and time dedicated to physical and leisure activities by adolescent during the lockdown caused by COVID-19 (2019, April 1 to May 1). The Minnesota Lesuire Time Physical Activity Questionnaire was used telematically on 4070 Canarian high school students (M=15.01; SD=3.53 years) during lockdown. 83.13% of the sample did not follow the WHO recommendations regarding physical activity, 63.64% did not keep ACSM recommendations to passive leisure, and 37% did not respect those regarding sleeping time. Likewise, as age increased there was a decrease in the amount of time dedicated to physical activity and thus failure to follow the recommendations of the relevant institutions. Also the time allotted to passive leisure was M=3.55 (SD=2.75) hours per day. It is concluded that the time dedicated to physical activity is insufficient according to the official bodies like as the use of screens acquires great predominance in the employment of adolescents’ free time, causing the need to consider future interventions to mitigate the sedentarism level and its consequences.

Pageantries, as defined connotatively, are events or outdoor performances consisting of a procession of people in elaborate costumes and attires. Beauty pageants, which often occur in schools during culminating activities, immensely help students gain a wider point of view towards education and can also be enjoyable at the same time. However, there are still plenty of students who tend to infer these events as leisure activities or sources for enjoyment. The main goal of the study is to determine which will transpire more between learning and enjoying, to do so, the researcher used the quantitative – correlational approach. To obtain the best responses possible, the chosen respondents for the study were the Grade 10 and the Senior High School students of Jagobiao National High School. The researcher first explained the purpose of the study and then assured the respondents that the data gathered will only be for research purposes. The researcher then distributed the survey questionnaires and collected them back after the given time limit. With proper analysis and interpretation of the data, it was determined that there is no significant relationship between the variables. However, pageantries offer students a unique experience and opportunity to gain more knowledge.

Most of those who never consume alcoholic beverages, then the experimenter. The frequency of use of sedatives, amphetamines and marijuana is low and the trend does not change for years. Most leisure time decade earlier adolescents spent with family, which is significantly reduced in favor of working on a computer, sports, wandering the streets and night life. Prevention programs in this county should primarily be aimed at addressing the harmful effects of alcohol consumption and smoking, and on exploring the possibilities of quality leisure time.

The aim of this research is to determine the factors that may prevent high school students from participating in recreational activities and to investigate whether these factors differ within the scope of various variables. This study consisted of total 1459 (681 women and 778 men) student volunteers who educated in high school level. Sampling method was preferred for easy sampling. The face-to-face survey method was used to collect the data. The "Leisure Constraints Scale" developed by Alexandris and Carroll (1997) and adapted to Turkish by Gürbüz and Karaküçük (2008) was used to determine the factors that might prevent individuals from participating in leisure activities. The data obtained for the research were first transferred to the computer and then analyzed by SPSS packet program. The error margin level in the study was taken as p < 0.05. The cronbach alpha of the study was found to be 0.91. As a result, it was found that women participated in the leisure time more than men. It was also observed that the participants met with more leisure constrain in Turkey's eastern regions.

In this paper, we explore high school students? intrapersonal experiences regarding their leisure activities, and whether it is justified, on the basis of their perception, to make a distinction between active and passive leisure. The data were collected by 24-hour time diary method (description of experiences regarding the stated activities) and the thematic content analysis method was applied. The comments embedded in students? descriptions (unit of analysis) were classified into four categories: aims/importance of activities, mental effort, motivational value and experience of engagement. The sample of 922 high school students was structured by the region, age (I-IV grade) and type of school (grammar and vocational schools). As expected, extracurricular activities and hobbies are significantly more often described as mentally demanding and important for the development of competencies and identity, compared to passive leisure activities - watching entertainment shows and movies, reading for pleasure, listening to music and playing computer games. For these latter activities, there are significantly more positive comments on their motivational value. There is no significant difference regarding the experience of engagement, partly because of the unexpectedly large number of positive comments on watching entertainment shows and movies. The implications of these findings are discussed from the perspective of positive youth development.
