As an indispensable component of the social interpersonal interaction, metacommunication falls within many fields of study and is considered in the light of different anthropocentric perspectives, which predetermine a specific coverage of problematics, spatial modeling and categorization. During the last decades metacommunication is also a subject of increased interest in the linguistics in its quality of a complex phenomenon linked both with the transmission and interpretation of particular information in the verbal exchange and with the reflection on the speech use and formation of interpersonal relationships

From its earliest roots in Greek philosophy, among the most prominent virtues—and arguably the most important of the social virtues—has been justice. While during this same period political philosophy focused intense energy on understanding justice as a property or quality of societies, discussion of justice as a virtue of individuals mostly disappeared. But justice as a virtue of individual character has, along with the other virtues, regained footing as work examining it has increased not only in philosophy but also in social psychology and other empirical fields of study. This volume aims to demonstrate some of the breadth of that thinking and research. It is a collection of new essays solicited from philosophers and political theorists, psychologists, economists, biologists, and legal scholars. Each contribution focuses on some aspect of what makes us just people, either by examining the science that explains the development of justice as a virtue, by highlighting virtue cultivation within distinctive traditions of empirical or philosophical thought, or by adopting a distinctive perspective on justice as an individual trait and its contribution to a society of thriving people. The book aims to stimulate further work in justice as an individual virtue and in how we can become more just as individuals.

The article presents and describes the style models of interpersonal interaction revealed through regression analysis, providing socio-psychological adaptation of adolescents with mild mental retardation and with normotypical development, studying in secondary schools. 75 adolescents from rural schools were examined, who had a sufficient level of social and psychological adaptation, identified through the methods of diagnosing the social-psychological adaptation of R. Rogers and R. Diamond. Characteristics of interpersonal interaction studied using a modified version of T. Leary's interpersonal diagnosis in the adaptation of L.N. Sobchik. The differences in the structure of interpersonal relations, contributing to the adaptation of adolescents with normotypical development and with a slight degree of mental retardation revealed. The analysis of the correspondence of the presented results to modern studies of interpersonal relations among adolescents made possible to discover originality in the determination of socio-psychological adaptation not only among adolescents with mild mental retardation, but also with their normally developing peers in inclusive education.

<p>The article describes the psychosocial characteristics of students with learning disabilities. Qualitative data collection and processing (interview and interview content analysis) and quantitative (socio-metric research) methods have been applied. Abstract In this article is drawn attention to the social aspects of improving the quality of production. The relationship between the development of technology and society is still underappreciated. There is a vital need to make technical managers aware of the rules governing interpersonal relationships. This theoretical article aims to bring the basic concepts of social sciences closer to recipients focused on constant improvement of the production quality. The essence of the work process is primarily the fact that it is done by a human being and mostly in a group of people. This is related to the consequences of sociological nature to which managers do not pay enough attention. Instead of focusing on social and interpersonal problems they are dealing with organizational issues. The conclusion of consideration leads to underlining the need for constant improvement - manager training in social engineering principles.

Emotion and relationships are involved in an intricate dialectic. Relational contexts can influence the perception, experience and communication of strong emotion, and conversely, emotion and affective processes within close relationships can influence the quality of the relationship between two persons. The present paper discusses central approaches to emotion in interpersonal relationships from a socio-cognitive, relational and behavioral perspective. Through a critical evaluation of those approaches the importance of focusing on emotional and affective processes in interpersonal interaction is underlined. These processes are suggestive of the interdependent nature of interpersonal interaction in relationships. Research and theory on emotion and affect in interpersonal interaction can provide the basis of a multilevel model that can explain how intrapersonal and relationally situated processes (including factors outside the relationship) can influence emotion in highly interdependent contexts, and conversely, how emotional and affective processes in interpersonal interaction can determine relational schemas.

Purpose – The qualitative study examines the development of purposely created interpersonal relationships in an intercultural context. Contact with a local host is a way of helping expatriates deal with the challenges of an international assignment. Since the quality of contact with the host is pivotal to benefit most from this experience, the purpose of this paper is to examine which factors influence contact quality. Design/methodology/approach – The authors conducted a case study analysis of 33 expatriates and ten accompanying partners who were put in touch with a local host, with whom they undertook a broad range of activities during a period of nine months. Findings – Nine factors influenced the development of the contact (similarities, motivation, benefits, anxiety, expectations, busy schedules, suboptimal timing, communication breakdown, and cultural differences). Key factors were similarities, motivation, and benefits. Research limitations/implications – While some of the factors (e.g. similarities) are predictable according to the Social Penetration Theory, four factors were uniquely applicable to purposely created relationships such as contact with a local host: motivation, expectations, anxiety, and suboptimal timing. Practical implications – The study provides suggestions that could stimulate the contact with a local host, making the intervention more valuable for organisations who wish to support their expatriates in this way. Originality/value – This longitudinal study is one of the first to examine in detail the process of development of purposely created interpersonal relationships in an intercultural context. Furthermore, the study is new because it also examines unsuccessful relationships.
