This study aims to highlight the importance of early intervention as to intellectual disabled children, level of its availability through the point of view generated from workers in Intellectual disability centers at Ma’an–Jordan. Moreover, we shall discuss herein the differences that carry statistical significance in early intervention services offered for intellectual disabled children that may be attributed to variables of gender, experience, qualification, specialty and center location.

The study sample has been formed from all workers at centers derived from the Ministry of Social development that offers its services to the intellectual disabled children, totaled at 44 (13males and 31 females).

In order to achieve the study aim, the researcher developed the study tool represented by a questionnaire consisting of two scopes; Importance of early intervention and its availability level, of 37 items. After confirming the tool stability and accuracy it has been applied on the study sample, then data was collected. We employed statistical methods; Person correlation coefficients, SMAs, Standard deviations and analyzing the multiple contrast.

The outcomes refer that the early intervention services importance is extremely high, and its availability is also at good level in the intellectual disability centers at Ma’an city. There were not differences of statistical significance at 0.5 level as to early intervention services importance offered for intellectual disabled children which are attributed to variables; gender, experience, qualification, specialty and center location. On the other hand, it was noticed the absence of differences of statistical significance at the level of early intervention services offered for intellectual disabled children that may be attributed to variables; gender, experience, qualification and specialty. While we noticed that there are differences of statistical significance as to the location variable. On the light of the generated outcomes we presented herein guiding and educational instructions in that regard.

This article is devoted to the development of early intervention in the Perm region as a measure for the prevention of child disability in the system of complex rehabilitation and habilitation of disabled people (disabled children). The article presents the level of disability among the child population in modern Russia; the theoretical and methodological foundations of the provision of early comprehensive intervention to children with special needs and their families are considered; the relevance of the development of early intervention at the federal and regional levels as a strategically significant area of modern social policy in the country, the creation of a unified system of early intervention, taking into account the characteristics of the regions of the country. The authors presented results of the study reflect the experience of organizing an early intervention service in the system of comprehensive rehabilitation and habilitation of disabled people (disabled children) in the Perm region over the past few years. The early intervention system in the Perm region is constructed at three levels. At the macro level, the activity of the region is analyzed within the framework of the implementation of the Pilot Project to develop approaches to the formation of a system of comprehensive rehabilitation and habilitation of disabled people; the specifics and content of the created mechanisms of interdepartmental interaction are disclosed; the problems and prospects of their implementation are identified, the experience of organizing early intervention as a public service is studied. At the meso-level, the structure of early intervention services created at institutions of various departmental affiliations is presented; disclosed the activities of the early intervention service, created at the departments of social service institutions of the Perm region; describes the procedure for providing early intervention services to children and their families. The provision of early intervention services to a child and his family is presented as a micro level; disclosed the content of early intervention technology in the early intervention service; describes the stages of providing early intervention services, forms and methods of work used. The prospects for the development of early assistance in social service institutions, new forms of providing early intervention services in modern conditions are determined.

Background: Clinical, functional, and cost-effectiveness outcomes from early intervention services (EIS) for psychosis are significantly associated with the duration of untreated psychosis (DUP) for the patients they serve. However, most EIS patients continue to report long DUP, while a reduction of DUP may improve outcomes. An understanding of different components of DUP and the factors associated with them may assist in targeting interventions toward specific sources of DUP. Objectives: To examine the components of DUP and their respective determinants in order to inform strategies for reducing delay in treatment in the context of an EIS. Methods: Help-seeking (DUP-H), Referral (DUP-R), and Administrative (DUP-A) components of DUP, pathways to care, and patient characteristics were assessed in first episode psychosis ( N = 532) patients entering an EIS that focuses on systemic interventions to promote rapid access. Determinants of each component were identified in the present sample using multivariate analyses. Results: DUP-H (mean 25.64 ± 59.00) was longer than DUP-R (mean = 14.95 ± 45.67) and DUP-A (mean 1.48 ± 2.55). Multivariate analyses showed that DUP-H is modestly influenced by patient characteristics (diagnosis and premorbid adjustment; R 2 = 0.12) and DUP-R by a combination of personal characteristics (age of onset and education) and systemic factors (first health services contact and final source of referral; R 2 = 0.21). Comorbid substance abuse and referral from hospital emergency services have a modest influence on DUP-A ( R 2 = 0.08). Patients with health care contact prior to onset of psychosis had a shorter DUP-H and DUP-R than those whose first contact was after psychosis onset (F(1, 498) = 4.85, P < 0.03 and F(1, 492) = 3.34, P < 0.07). Conclusions: Although much of the variance in DUP is unexplained, especially for help-seeking component, the systemic portion of DUP may be partially determined by relatively malleable factors. Interventions directed at altering pathways to care and promote rapid access may be important targets for reducing DUP. Simplifying administrative procedures may further assist in reducing DUP.
