The present study makes an attempt to make comparison between China and Pakistan with reference to Competition law. The research aims to find out that whether or not the evidences submitted by the companies during the course investigation can substantially be used in any other legal proceeding. As far as the methodology of this study is concerned, qualitative data analysis is used along with comparative legal method for analyzing “de lege lata” and “de lege ferenda” situation in scope of the solved topic. The study finds out that competition in Pakistan works same as China’s AML since both forbids actions that play their negative role in reducing the competition like market dominance in the market. Therefore, the act encourages agreements that confine and restrict market dominance. Furthermore, methods and policies are stated by the law with reference to review of enquiries, acquisitions, mergers, penalties’ imposition, leniency’s grant along with other aspects of law enforcement. The evidences submitted by the companies during the course investigation can substantially be used in any other legal proceeding. The study concluded while contending that, however, AML in China and competition Act in Pakistan has provided both countries substantive and sound law, but there is need of strong and effective institutional implement which can provide a base for the evidences submitted by the companies during the course investigation to be substantially used in any other legal proceeding. Compliance is promoted by leniency through competition law along with incentives to prohibited arrangements. Qualitative research methodology has been applied to the following article.

With COVID-19 affecting all types of research, the authors of this article contribute to the discussions on how COVID-19 affects the world of qualitative nursing research in irrefutable ways. Underrepresented and vulnerable populations are faced with higher rates and severity of COVID-19, heightening the need to better address their health needs, which require their voices to be heard. Moreover, nurses’ perspectives on practicing during COVID-19 are needed. These nurses are vulnerable and their voices must be heard. Qualitative research methodology is advantageous to bringing attention to the lived experience of others as they unfold. Thus, we offer suggestions to aid in the collection and interpretation of qualitative data among vulnerable populations. We also provide practical tips for qualitative researchers, including an exemplar of conducting qualitative research among vulnerable nurses in light of COVID-19.

An expert system approach (Buchanan et al., 1983) was used to identify and conceptualize the knowledge of 17 Canadian expert high-performance gymnastic coaches. By using a qualitative research methodology based on the traditions of cognitive anthropology and grounded theory, the first two stages of the knowledge acquisition process for building an expert system (identification and conceptualization) were examined. Open-ended questions and various questioning methods were used to unveil, explore, and probe important information (Patton, 1990; Spradley, 1979) about various coaching situations. All coaches’ interviews were transcribed verbatim, and the unstructured qualitative data were inductively analyzed following the procedures and techniques of grounded theory (Côté, Salmela, Baria, & Russell, 1993; Glaser & Strauss, 1967; Strauss & Corbin, 1990). This article provides the underlying methodological framework used for the entire project. Details about the coaches studied and the methodological framework used to collect and analyze the data are presented.

This paper aims at exploring the definition, characteristics and stages of qualitative data analysis in tourism research. The paper is based on the writer’s experience in implementing qualitative data analysis as well as literature review on qualitative research methodology. Qualitative researchers may deal with different and rich data from qualitative methods. However, many qualitative researchers do not understand how to produce knowledge from qualitative data. For this reason, the result of a qualitative research tends to be descriptive without contributing to the advancement of knowledge. Thematic analysis is considered as a dominant form of analysis in qualitative research. Its stages consist of data reduction, organization and interpretation. Coding is the key for succeeding the qualitative data analysis. Hence, examples of qualitative data analysis in tourism research are provided to give practical stages of how to analyze qualitative data.

The study was conducted specifically to examine the role of forensic experts and Sindh police in investigating various crimes in the Karachi and Hyderabad areas. Forensic science can use technical expertise to detect, identify and prosecute criminals. In Pakistan, the application and understanding of forensic science in law enforcement agencies is increasing. This research has been analyzed with the help of qualitative research methodology. When forensic experts were asked if forensic evidence in court is a comprehensive defense, it was found that about 93.3% has agreed on it, while 6.7% denied it. When police participants were asked if modern forensic techniques could give immediate results in any case, 58.8% agreed, while 41.2% refused. This signifies that 58.8% of police respondents have less forensic knowledge and acquaintance. The biggest obstacles are lack of funds and lack of trained personnel, equipment and laboratories. The future of forensic science in Sindh will depend on overcoming the barriers and strengthening capacity building and improvement.

Limitations of action designate extent of time after an event, as set by statutes of limitations, within which legal action can be initiated by a party to a transaction. No event is actionable outside the designated time as same is rendered statute-barred. This study aims to provide an insight into application and significance of Limitations Act 1950 and Limitation Ordinance 1952 to Islamic banking matters in Malaysia as well as Shariah viewpoint on the issue of limitation of action. In conducting the study, a qualitative research methodology is employed where reported Islamic banking cases from 1983 to 2018 in Malaysia were reviewed and analysed to ascertain the application of those statutes of limitations to Islamic banking. Likewise, relevant provisions of the statutes as invoked in the cases were examined to determine possible legislative conflicts between the provisions and the rule of Islamic law in governing the right and limitation of action in Islamic banking cases under the law. The reviewed cases show the extent to which statutes of limitations were invoked in Malaysian courts in determining validity of Islamic banking matters. The limitation provisions so referred to are largely sections 6(1)(a) and 21(1) Limitations Act 1953 and section 19 Limitation Ordinance 1953, which do not conflict with Shariah viewpoint on the matter. This study will prove invaluable to financial institutions and their customers alike in promoting knowledge and creating awareness over actionable event in the course of their transactions.

The study traces the pathways of young people who dropped out of school between grades 1 to 11 as they seek re-entrance to the education, training and development (ETD) system, or entrance into the labour market. Particular attention is given to the factors that determine the choices that drop-outs make in either re-entering the ETD system or entering the labour market. An analysis of the experiences of the interviewed sample of drop-outs is presented. The study employs a qualitative research methodology, using interviews to elicit the experiences of drop-outs and school managers. Through snowballing, 14 youths and three principals were selected from a township south of Durban. Individual and focus group interviews were conducted. The findings provide insights into the drop-outs’ perceptions regarding the value of investing in education. They are discussed further in relation to the respective theories used in the study. The concluding section suggests the need for investments in second chance education by government and the private sector, and proposes an integrated model to assist young people who re-enter psychologically and emotionally.
