The circular saw blade is widely applied in rock processing; its cutting performance significantly impacts rock processing. Therefore, the numerical simulation model of rock cutting with the flexible circular saw blade has been established to investigate the effects of cutting parameters on the stress and cutting force of circular saw blade, and the damage and stress of rock in the circular saw blade cutting into rock vertically at constant feed speed and rotation speed. The research results indicate that the stress of the saw blade and rock rises with the increase of feed speed and rotation speed of the saw blade. Furthermore, the rock damage and the cutting force of the circular saw blade increase with the increasing feed speed and decrease with increasing rotation speed. The circular saw blade cutting force, vertical force, and horizontal force increase with the rising distance between the double circular saw blade. However, the axial force decreases. The research results of cutting hard rock with the flexible circular saw blade can aid in the optimization of cutting parameters and improve cutting efficiency.

Effect of thermal modification temperature of spruce wood on cutting parameters during circular saw blade cutting. The work examines the effect of temperature on energetical parameters (specific cutting resistance and cutting force) when cutting heat-treated wood of Norway spruce (Picea Abies) by a circular saw. The test samples were heat-treated at 160°C, 180°C, 200°C and 220°C. One sample was not heat treated and was used as a reference sample. In comparison with the theoretical assumptions, the influence of temperature on the cutting force and specific cutting resistance was confirmed. With increasing temperature of modification, the specific cutting resistance and cutting force decreased. The reduction of value of cutting force is related to changes in the chemical structure of the wood components, weight and density loss due to the increasing temperature of modification.

Three kind of diamond circular saw blade with different structure parameters are designed in this paper. Adopted single-factor test, sawing force and vibration are measured by cutting several kinds of strength concrete in different cutting parameters. The analysis to characters of sawing force and vibration helps to find out optimum structure of diamond saw blade with different segment width, more rational sawing parameter and its adaptability to workpiece material.

During the sawing process of cold sawing machine, it emergences of blade wear too fast, the current is too large, sawing not high quality of rolled products,Be aimed at those problem, the paper established the finite element of side shake structure saw blade and ordinary flat blade model, and using the ANSYS finite element analysis software to make the dynamics calculation about the two kinds of saw blade. Through the analysis and comparison of backlash saw blade and natural frequency, different cutting parameters effect of stress and deformation of the saw tooth transient, and the simulation results will be applied to the field of sawing testsThe results show that the backlash saw blade in the vibration characteristics, performance and other aspects of the force and deformation are improved compared with the ordinary blade

A nonlinear numerical simulation model of stone-cutting circular saw blade was developed for the purpose of understanding the mechanics of cutting process by employing LS-DYNA program. Based on the classical damage model theory and fracture criterion, the action of cutting stone is mainly considered as extruding sliding friction and pressing. The movement rule and wear mechanism were analyzed in stone cutting process. After the transient strain field was obtained, the corresponding pressure was calculated. The results showed the present method is applicable to forecasting and optimizing the cutting parameters for efficient control and improvement of separation.

The effects of cutting parameters on the transverse vibration of diamond circular saw blade were experimentally investigated. Transverse vibration was online measured by a novel measuring system developed by wireless sensor. Meanwhile, axial force on saw blade was measured by a dynamometer. By the experimental results under different cutting parameters, the time domain characteristics of transverse vibration of saw blade were analyzed, and the relationships between transverse vibration and cutting parameters were also obtained. Axial deformation is greatly influenced by the axial force acting on saw blade.

Abstract In this paper, linear micro textures that parallel to the sawtooth edge were fabricated on the surface of the high speed steel W6Mo5Cr4V2 circular saw blade by laser engraving. Further, cutting performance of micro textured circular saw blade (TCS) and traditional circular saw blade (CS), including sawing arc length, sawing force, sawing temperature, machined surface roughness and wear mechanism, were investigated in sawing 304 stainless steel pipes under the cutting fluid condition. Results showed that the largest sawing arc length and sawing force were occurred on the circular saw blade sawing outward from the inner wall. In addition, TCS circular saw blade exhibited better cutting performance and the mechanisms were found, on the one hand, the effective sawtooth-chip contact length was reduced due to the micro textures fabricated on the sawtooth surface, on the other hand, cutting fluid can be better penetrated into the micro textures and formed stable lubrication film in sawtooth-chip contact interface.

Cutting, as the most widely used machining process, is applied in both primary and secondary wood processing. Optimum cutting conditions that result in the high quality of the machined surface and low energy consumption are crucial for wood processing. The effects of the feed speed, cutting speed and average chip thickness on the energy consumption and surface temperature of a circular saw blade during the cutting process of two types of plywood with a thickness of h = 14 mm is described in this paper. In experimental measurements, two circular saw blades with cutting tungsten carbide inserts for wood were used as tools. One circular saw blade was standard, and was not surface treated (CSB1), and second circular saw blade (CSB2) differed by the powder coating surface and the length of the cutting edge. In the experiment, the energy consumption and the surface temperature of the circular saw blade was measured in order to find the optimal cutting conditions for the most energy-efficient cutting process. The results show that the cutting power and the surface temperature of the circular saw blade increased when the feed speed increased. The investigated values of the surface-treated circular saw blade were lower compared to the values of the standard circular saw blade. When comparing the lightweight plywood with the classic plywood, experimentally obtained cutting power values of the circular saw were made 19% lower on average by using the circular saw blade CSB1. When using the CSB2 circular saw blade, these values of the cutting power of the circular saw were 22% lower on average. The surface temperature of the circular saw blade is the highest on the outer edge (tooth root area 31.7 °C) and decreases towards the center of the circular saw blade. There must be a reasonable compromise between machine productivity and energy consumption.
