This study aims to explore the service quality using the variables of Hierarchical Model of Health Service Quality and probed its interaction to the patient satisfaction in Mutiara Bunda Women and Child Hospital Salatiga. The SERVQUAL method was employed as the mean to evaluate the service quality. Additionally, the sources of expectation were also being investigated to see how the patients set their initial expectation. The quantitative method would be used through aquestionnaire to the patient in the hospital. The result indicates that the perception-expectation gap of health service quality in some extent significantly contributed to the overall satisfaction. The previously-determined sources of expectation also significantly contributed in shaping the overall expectation of patient. This research will contribute to the academical and practical realm in investigating the connection between service quality and customer satisfaction in the health care service industry. Furthermore, this research exhibits the novelty in which the new set of variables isapplied in assessing the service quality by finding out the gap score. The analysis used univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Chi square test results showed that technical competence (p = 0.001 <0.05), effectiveness (p = 0.002 <0.05), human relations (p = 0.000 <0.05), comfort (p = 0.099> 0, 05) and timeliness (p = 0.001 <0.05). The logistic regression test shows that the variable that most influences patient satisfaction is the relationship between humans with an Exp (B) value of 4.195. The conclusion of this research is that technical competence, effectiveness, human relations and timeliness have a relationship with patient satisfaction, while comfort has no relationship with patient satisfaction. As the awareness of the importance of healthcare service quality and pressures from stakeholders continue to grow, healthcare service providers have no option except to develop appropriate service quality evaluation procedures. Patient satisfaction is imperative, and has become a critical issue especially in e-health services. Although healthcare service providers have become aware of the need for improving customer experience through provision of customer-centric services, virtually none of the existing e-health quality evaluation frameworks are grounded on customer-centric metrics. In this chapter, a critical analysis of existing evaluation initiatives is presented from the context of e-health services. Critical areas of e-health service are investigated to determine quality dimensions that influence customer experience. From this analysis, a customer-centric evaluation framework is proposed, comprising four e-health service quality scales. The framework provides a platform for continuous improvement in e-health service.
