Abstract Objectives Information was collected to identify anxiety in dental patients visiting a dental clinic using the Dental Anxiety Scale, their level of psychological distress using the Brief Symptom Inventory-18 and identifying a correlation between these groups as well as the gender and age. Data description This data contains a set of 1550 patients’ answers to questionnaires taken before dental treatment in a dental clinic. It is divided into male and female patients as well as according to their age. The level of Dental Anxiety can be interpreted by answers chosen in the Dental Anxiety Scale (DAS) and the level of psychological distress by answers chosen in the Brief Symptom Inventory-18 (BSI-18). This dataset should help to encourage more research in the field of dental anxiety and we hope to see more comparisons with our data in the future or in different regions of the world.

Dental clinic/office launch and development is non-easy task, which require not only a lot of efforts but also some level of the investments, especially for the commercial real estate and expensive equipment. And very often the amount of finances which one person or family is bringing to business may not be sufficient. Including of shareholders can help to reach that goal. Including the partners (ie, cofounders or shareholders) to your private clinic/ office in a legal form of Limited Liability Company (LLC) are possible upon two stages: (1) upon the business launch and (2) upon the business existence. The second variant is more complicated and has to be analyzed.

Aim. The purpose of the article is to determine specific regional risk factors for periodontal diseases in residents of the North-East of Russia on a complex clinical and physiological research.Materials and methods. A clinical study of the biophysical properties and composition of oral fluid (salivation rate, pH, viscosity, microcrystallization type, lysozyme activity) in the adult population with inflammatory periodontal diseases were done at dental clinic of the Medical Institute of M.K.Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University, dental clinic "Valeon" and clinical and diagnostic laboratory "Scientific and Practical Center of Phthisiatry" (Yakutsk). A total of 1012 individuals aged 15-19 years old (n = 248) and 35-44 years old (n = 764) were examined. Oral hygiene in the age groups was assessed by the Oral Hygiene Index according to J.C. Green and J.R. Vermillion (1964). In addition, social and hygienic status was assessed according Yu. V.Chizhov's method (2005). Statistical processing was carried out using the SPSS software package, version 22. The research was performed in accordance with the principles and rules of evidence-based medicine.Results. The obtained results determine quantitative and qualitative changes in oral fluid properties. The presence of biological risk factors associated with changes in the composition and properties of the oral fluid, as well as a low sanitary level, which are associated with viscosity increase, salivation rate decrease, a predominance of II and III types of microcrystallization, acidic pH level, a decrease in the level of lysozyme activity, were revealed. The identified risk factors have an impact on the prevalence of periodontal disease in the people of the North and mostly determine their clinical course.Conclusion. The revealed biophysical features of oral fluid in the examined adolescents and adult population of the North-East of Russia are specific regional local risk factors for the development of periodontitis, which must be taken into account when improving the therapeutic and preventive measures of pathological processes of periodontal tissues.

This article is based at the diagnosis of pyogenic granuloma, which is characterized as a benign simple hyperplastic tumor and has an inflammatory reactive component that increases in size as a connective tissue reaction, forming a repair tissue as a protective mechanism. Clinically, pyogenic granuloma is seen as a red or purplish lesion (similar to the adjacent mucosa), too vascular, with a sessile or pedunculated base, with slow growth, reaching a size that rarely exceeds 2,5 cm, the surface of which can be rough or smooth. It occurs more frequently in adulthood, with a predominance in females (mainly during pregnancy), between the second and seventh life's decades. This aim of this paper is to report a case of pyogenic granuloma on the upper lip of a patient at the FAESA's Dental Clinic.

ABSTRACT Background There is very little research that focuses on oral health in the Pacific region. This paper outlines      a document analysis of dental reports from the dental clinic in Niue and to examine their oral health and dental services. Furthermore this paper is intended to highlight how oral services in Niue can be improved for better oral health care for the Niue community.        Methods: A document analysis of seven Niue dental reports between July 2011 to July 2018. The information found in the documents were organised under the sections clinical data reporting. The analysis also focused on a strength based approached for discussing the key challenges; the main achievements; and future recommendations for improving dental services for Niue. Results: Dental caries are the most common reason for tooth extractions followed by periodontal diseases. Primary school students are affected the most with 60 percent of students experiencing untreated dental caries. Among high school students, the rate of dental caries experienced is relatively low. Women appear to attend the dental clinic more than men however the number of visits for both men and women has declined. The key challenges faced by the dental team were a lack of resources specifically shortage of computers and functioning dental chairs, unfamiliarity with MEDTECH and limited staff development opportunities. Despite these challenges, the team were still able to establish the ‘Atuhau Mamali’ programme and upskill one staff member through professional development. Other achievements included reducing noise pollution, allocating a budget for safety equipment and establishing clinical guidelines for practice. Conclusions: Recommendations to improve oral health and dental services in Niue are to deliver targeted dental caries interventions in schools, introduce stronger food policies and to implement collaborative networks across the Pacific region. It is recommended that the Niue dental team develop more rigorous methods of data documentation to gain a more accurate picture of oral health in the country.

Background. Supporting the health personnel satisfaction of with their professional activities and motivating them to work is a means of effective human resource management. The patient's health and the quality of life associated with it depends on the motivation and satisfaction with the professional activity of the health specialists. The satisfaction as a characteristic of organizational culture differs among physicians of different specialties. The purpose of the study: to determine the level of satisfaction with the professional activities of dentists of institutions providing highly specialized dental care. Materials and methods. The author's structured questionnaires were used, completed by 110 dentists from three regional dental care institutions. Methods: sociological; medical and statistical; logical structure analysis; generalizations. Results. In general, dentists highly rated satisfaction with their professional activities on a 5-point scale: 4.6 ± 0.5 points – doctors of the Сommunal Non-profit Company (CNC) "Zhytomyr Regional Dental Medical Association"; 4.2 ± 0.4 points – doctors of the CNC of the Kharkiv Regional Council "Regional Dental Clinic"; 4.3 ± 0.9 points – doctors of the CNC "Chernihiv Regional Dental Clinic of the Chernihiv Regional Council". However, the respondents of the CNC "Chernihiv Regional Dental Clinic of the Chernihiv Regional Council" expressed only partial satisfaction with the opportunity to improve their qualifications at the workplace, the state of the provision of drugs, consumables and evidence-based technologies, the level of wages (range of estimates 3.5 ± 0.9 – 3, 7 ± 1.1 points). It was found that the lowest satisfaction scores of dentists of all institutions concerned professional relations with colleagues of the polyclinics structural units where they work, with the administration, and with doctors of other health care institutions: doctors' assessments, depending on the institutions, varied, respectively, within 4, 2 ± 0.4 – 4.4 ± 0.7 points, 4.4 ± 0.5 – 4.5 ± 0.5 points, 4.0 ± 1.0 – 4.4 ± 0.7 points. Conclusions. General assessments of satisfaction with the professional activities of dentists are high, but the professional relations of dentists need to be improved, improvement is the state of resource provision of institutions and opportunities for professional development; increases – salary. This information can be used to make management decisions to strengthen the organizational culture of healthcare institutions by improving personnel management.

This paper presents the results of two natural field experiments at a dental clinic. Guided by a simple theoretical model, we exogenously vary deadlines and associated rewards for arranging checkup appointments. Our data show strong and systematic effects of deadlines on patients’ behavior. Imposing deadlines induces patients to act earlier and at a persistently higher frequency than without a deadline. We further document that individuals systematically respond to deadlines even if these are not tied to explicit rewards. Several of our findings suggest that individuals’ responses to deadlines are shaped by limitations in memory and attention. Our results illustrate that deadlines can be a powerful management tool to encourage timely task completion and to increase the cost effectiveness of performance-contingent rewards. The aim of this study i.e., is to present the distribution of traumatic dental injuries (TDI) in 306 patients registered at the Unit of Dental Emergencies at a University Dental Clinic in Milan, Italy, between June 2019 and May 2021. This time frame includes the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Information regarding age, gender, number and type of injured teeth, type of traumatic injury, and data on where or how the injury happened were recorded. Seventy-nine percent of patients can be classified as pediatric (under 14 years old), and in all age groups, male patients were found to be more susceptible (1.6:1). A total of 480 teeth were involved, 59% of which were deciduous, and 41% permanent. The most affected teeth in both dentitions were upper central incisors. In deciduous teeth, periodontal lesions were more common, whereas in permanent dentitions, dental fractures were diagnosed more often. Most data found in this study confirms the results found in the literature. The biggest difference, due to changes in daily routine during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, can be found by analyzing the incidence and etiology. As a matter of fact, there was a decrease in school accidents, whereas domestic falls remained constant.
