Aim. To determine genealogical and cytogenetic features in girls aged 12-17 years with secondary amenorrhea. Methods. The analysis of pedigrees was conducted in 25 families of girls with secondary amenorrhea (main group) and in 25 families of healthy girls in the laboratory of medical genetics of SI "ICAHC NAMS". Cytogenetic analysis was carried out in the blood lymphocytes of the girls of the main and control groups in vitro. The control group consisted of 25 healthy peer girls with a regular menstrual cycle without somatic pathology. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the Student's t-test in Excel programs. Results. The hereditary burden on non-inflammatory (hormone-dependent) gynecological diseases was found in 60.0% of families, in 86.6% of cases – along the maternal line, in 6.7% – along the paternal line, in 6.7% – on both lines at the same time; 40.0% of girls had no hereditary burden. The total incidence of gynecological (non-inflammatory) diseases among relatives of three degrees of kinship was 13.6%, which was almost three times higher than the frequency in relatives of healthy girls (5.1%, p < 0.001). Cytogenetic analysis conducted in girls of the main group showed an increase in both the overall level of chromosomal disorders (6.2%), and their individual types (3.2%. 3.0%, 1.56%) compared to the frequency in healthy girls. Conclusions. Family accumulation of gynecological (non-inflammatory) diseases in the pedigree of girls with secondary amenorrhea has been established. Cytogenetic features in the blood lymphocytes of sick girls are revealed compared to healthy peers.  Keywords: girls, pedigrees, cytogenetic indices, secondary amenorrhea.

Inflammatory diseases affecting the soft and hard tissues surrounding an implant represent a new challenge in contemporary implant dentistry. Among several methods proposed for the decontamination of titanium surfaces, the administration of topical 14% doxycycline gel seems to be a reliable option. In the present study, we evaluated the microbial effect of 14% doxycycline gel applied on titanium surfaces and exposed to human salivary microbes in anaerobic conditions. We also examined the composition of the exposed surfaces to assess the safe use of periodontal gel on titanium surfaces. Six anatase and six type 5 alloy titanium surfaces were used and divided into two groups: The test group and the positive control group. Both were cultured with human salivary samples in anaerobic conditions. On the test groups, 240 mg of periodontal gel was applied. The microbial assessment was performed with a colony-forming unit (CFU) count and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight (MALDI-TOF) to identify the species. The surface integrity was assessed using scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (SEM-EDS). The results demonstrated the microbial efficacy of the 14% doxycycline periodontal gel and its safe use on titanium surfaces. However, the SEM observations revealed the permanence of the gel on the titanium surfaces due to the physical composition of the gel. This permanence needs to be further investigated in vivo and a final polishing protocol on the titanium surface is recommended.

The article presents the results of treatment of patients with acute inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region using non-drug methods of treatment. Study material: 60 patients with acute purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region (phlegmons and abscesses), who were divided into 2 groups: the main group — 30 patients who underwent a course of complex application of broadband electromagnetic therapy and low — frequency alternating electrostatic field and the control group — 30 patients who were treated with drug therapy (antibiotics, metronidazole group drugs, antihistamines, multivitamins, detoxification therapy, local treatment of the wound process), which served as the background in the main group. Objective: to develop and scientifically substantiate the complex application of broadband electromagnetic therapy and low-frequency alternating electrostatic field in patients with inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region. Results. In a comparative aspect, the dynamics of the indicators of the leukocyte intoxication index (LII) and the main indicators of the morphological picture of the blood before and after treatment in patients with HIA CHLO under the influence of the developed complex was studied. Conclusion. The developed complex, which includes a low-frequency alternating electrostatic field and broadband electromagnetic therapy, contributes to the formation of pronounced anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects in patients with inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region due to a significant reduction in endogenous intoxication, which allows us to recommend it for inclusion in complex therapeutic and rehabilitation programs after surgical interventions to accelerate the time of purulent wound cleansing and reduce the length of hospital stay.

Purpose of the study: to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of IVF/ICSI program for couples with HIV infected men.Research and methods. Prospective clinical study was applied to 169 infertile married couples. The main group of subjects was 94 couples with HIV infected men. The control group included 75 couples with HIV negative status for both partners. In the main group there were carried out 60 treatment IVF/ICSI cycles and 31 frozen protocols, in the control group 86 and 39 cycles respectively. Before the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) was applied to the HIV infected men they were tested for DNA HIV in purified spermatozoa by PCR method. To evaluate the seroconversion in 21 days following the embryo transfer the women were tested for the presence of an antigen/antibodies to the HIV virus.Results. Clinical pregnancy rate [6 (19,4%) and 17 (27%); p=0,41] as well as birth rate [5 (16,1%) and 11 (17,5%); p=0,87] in couples with HIV infected male was comparable to the control group. The testing of semen samples showed no RNA HIV in 100% cases. Evaluation of seroconversion showed absolutely no antibodies to HIV in the women’s blood in 100% cases.Conclusion. Implementation of the IVF/ICSI program for discordant married couples with HIV infected male showed the rate of pregnancy onset which is comparable to the HIV seronegative control. Ejaculate processing of HIV infected male using «double» gradient and swim up is turns to be the measure to prevent horizontal transmission of the virus. This method can be recommended when implementing ART for couples with HIV infected male, both in the case of infertility and according to epidemiological indications.

The less investigated problem of modern obstetrics is psychological condition of women during pregnancy and labors, who were affected by negative influence of nowadays, especially the military aggression, because precisely stress hormones determine the failure of adaptation, metabolic disorders and, as a result, an activation of infectious and chronic diseases, which determined the direction, the aim and the task of the work. The objective: to investigate peculiarities of course of pregnancy and labors, condition of a fetus and a newborn in pregnant women – displaced ones (IDP) in order to develop the improved methods of obstetric and perinatal complication prophylaxis in such women. Materials and methods. In order to achieve the object view, retrospective clinic and statistic analysis of 225 case histories of pregnancies and labors of IDP (the main group) and 51 pregnant women (control group), who continuously has been living in the territories controlled by Ukraine and did not stay in the military actions area during the process of investigation, were conducted. Pregnant women from the main and control groups were giving birth in the Delivery Departments of Central Cities Multyfield Hospitals of Belokurakino and Rubizhne of Luhansk Region in 2014–2017 years. Results. Pregnancy in IDP women is coursing under the maximal psycho emotional tension and stress, which promote complications development during gestation and labors. The risk factors which affects of the manifestation of pregnancy complications are: violations in psycho emotional condition of pregnant women, high infectious morbidity during puberty period, presents of chronic somatic pathology and high rate of inflammatory diseases of the female reproductive organs. Develop of placental-associated complications of pregnancy are typical in majority of IDP pregnant women: threatening of early and late spontaneous abortions, preterm labors, early gestosis, placental dysfunction and asiderotic anemia. Violations of labor act complications such as preterm and early rupture of amniotic membranes, weakness of labor activity and traumas of maternal ways, which lead to increase of specific gravity of complicated labors up to 20.3% and operative deliveries by the means of the Caesarian Section up to 23.6%, are most common for the main group of pregnant women. Newborns of the IDP women had an average weight less than 217 grams after delivery, in the asphyxia of different degrees one in eleven children was born. 34.8% of IDP women newborns had a pathological course of neonatal period which caused the further supervision on the 2nd level of neonatal care and was the reason of extra charges from the side of the parents. Conclusion. It is desirable to provide a full-fledged psychological support and routine treatment of chronic extragenital diseases at the periconceptional stage in IDP women. The preventive measures during pregnancy must foresee the violation of psychological condition correction and development of placental-associated complications. Key words: pregnancy, labors, complication, psychological violations, forced displaced people.

The article highlights new data on the effect of thyroid dysfunction on the formation of secondary amenorrhea in adolescent girls who live for a long time in conditions of weak iodine deficiency. The objective: to determine the state of the thyroid system in girls with SA, taking into account the presence of thyroid disorders. Materials and methods. Under observation were 68 girls aged 14-17 years with SA, living in conditions of weak iodine deficiency in Kharkov and the Kharkov region. The examination provided for an ultrasound of the thyroid gland and determination of the functional state of the pituitary-thyroid system. Girls with SA entered the main group. Depending on the presence of thyreopathy, namely, diffuse non-toxic goiter (DNG), the patients of the main group were divided into two subgroups: 1-st subgroup consists of a girls with SA and normal thyroid volume (n=39); 2-nd subgroup consists of girls with SA and DNG (n=29). The control group included 78 female peers with normal thyroid volume, harmonious physical development and normal menstrual function. Results. The obtained results allowed to establish that the formation of SA in girls living in conditions of low iodine deficiency occurs against a background of thyroid dysfunction, the character of which differs in girls with normal thyroid gland volume and DNG. This can be regarded as a succession of stages of the pathological process when, in conditions of prolonged residence in regions with a mild iodine deficiency, a distearosis is formed which is characterized by an increase in the fT4 conversion in fT3, reflecting an increase in the fT3/fT4 ratio in the vast majority of the girls surveyed. These changes in the thyroid profile negatively affect the development of the reproductive system and can cause menstrual dysfunction even in the absence of thyroid disease. The conclusion. Prevention and treatment of SA in girls living in conditions of low iodine deficiency, provides long-term use of pharmacological drugs potassium iodide in age doses. Key words: girls, thyroid gland, thyroid status, secondary amenorrhea.

Summary. Inflammatory periodontal diseases continue to be one of the pressing problems of modern dentistry [1]. It is known that there is a close relationship between general-somatic pathology and diseases of the oral cavity [2]. The aim of the study – to learn the effectiveness of the use of anti-dysbiotic hepatoprotector in the complex treatment of patients with periodontal inflammatory diseases on the background of chronic non-calculous cholecystitis. Materials and Methods. The main (group 1) group consisted of 106 people who suffered from inflammatory periodontal disease (IPD) with concomitant chronic non-calculous cholecystitis (CNC). The comparison group included 92 patients with IPD without concomitant pathology (group 2). To compare the research results of the patients with IPD, 30 healthy teethed individuals without periodontal pathology and without somatic diseases (group 3 or the control group) were involved. The state of the hepatobiliary system in patients of the main group was assessed by the doctors of the Gastroenterology Department of Zolochiv District Hospital of Lviv region. Results and Discussion. The symptomatic HCG and the presence of solid and soft dental deposits were diagnosed in all patients. The Green-Vermillion’s index was the highest in patients from the main group (1.67±0.01); it was probably (p <0.05) higher than that in the comparison group (1.54±0.04), as well as in the control group (0.44±0.07). The PMA index in the subgroup 1A immediately after treatment decreased by 9.7 (p <0.001) times. The index of bleeding in the subgroup 1A decreased by 10.7 (p <0.001) times. The PMA index in the subgroup 1A immediately after treatment decreased by 10.4 (p <0.001) times. The index of bleeding in the subgroup 1A under the influence of the proposed therapy decreased by 6.5 (p <0.001) times. The difference regarding the data before treatment remained lower by 2.2 times and 2.0 (p <0.001) times, however, the difference between the subgroups 1A and 1B in 3 months and 6 months was already 2.1 times in both cases. Conclusions. It was found that the clinical course of inflammatory periodontal diseases was much more difficult in these patients. The presence of pathology in the hepatobiliary system in patients increases the risk of periodontal disease. Therefore, in order to improve the efficacy of treatment, it is advisable to use this antidysbiotic drug in the complex treatment, and the results obtained in 3 and 6 months after treatment indicate a long-lasting positive effect.

Abstract Background NO (nitric oxide) inhibition could be used for evaluating the drug’s efficacy for NO-mediated inflammatory disorders. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of L-NAME and melatonin on different NO production levels in RAW 264.7 cell line as an in vitro model for inflammatory diseases. Materials and methods RAW 264.7 macrophage cell line was used to compare the effects of L-NAME and melatonin on basal and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced iNOS levels. The cells were treated using L-NAME and melatonin for 1 h, afterward incubated with/without LPS for 8 and 24 h. Finally, iNOS mRNA, protein, activity, and nitrite concentrations were evaluated. Results Inhibition rate of nitrite by 1 mM L-NAME compared with LPS control were 78% and 80% during 8 and 24 h, respectively. Real-time PCR showed that in the LPS-treated group, 1 mM L-NAME could result in 14% increase of iNOS-mRNA compared with the control group during 8 h. Dose-dependent activity of iNOS in LPS-induced cells from non-treated to 4 mM L-NAME showed 79% reduction while at the same concentrations of melatonin this decrease was 32% (p-value <0.05). Conclusion L-NAME showed lower iNOS expression modulating efficacy than melatonin. The result concluded lower potential of the NOS synthetic inhibitors rather than melatonin in the treatment of NO-related disorders.
