The article discusses the problem of reconsideration of components and improvement of academic and methodological support of university psychological and pedagogical disciplines. The object of this research is the academic and methodological support of psychological-pedagogical disciplines in the digital educational environment of higher education. The subject is the improvement of academic and methodological support of psychological-pedagogical disciplines, taking into account competencies (components of competencies) developed in the course of their study for use in digital educational environment. The author determines the specificity and forms of providing academic and methodological support in transition towards digitalization of higher education. The author summarizes the productive experience of implementing these forms of work in Tula State Lev Tolstoy Pedagogical University. The article suggests the vectors for improvement, gives theoretical substantiation to the new variants of development and provision of academic and methodological support for psychological-pedagogical disciplines demanded in the digital environment. It is established that the process and dynamics of improvement of academic and methodological support are primarily associated with overcoming psychological and qualification barriers that impede the participation of pedagogues in the digital transformation of education, and increasing their readiness to learning and using new information and communication technologies and software, which is most effective when they receive specialized training based on implementation of the principles of system-activity, competency-based, information, and individually-differentiated approaches, interdisciplinary integration, organization of joint activity of the educators of different academic departments.

Use of means related to information and communication technologies (ICT) in continuous education system promotes a training of future informatics teacher owning skills of ICT means use in his professional activity, capable to make effective decisions in dynamically changing working conditions. In connection with this it is possible to predict that in continuous education more and more important part will be assigned to self-training and selfeducation. Furthermore, in continuous education system formation an important role is played by formation of corresponding information and communication educational environment (ICEE). In this aspect the problem of future informatics teacher training to professional activity in the new ICEE is considered in the paper.

The European Higher Education Area has caused changes in higher education, what involves new adaptations in the teaching-learning process because now the main aim is "learn to learn". The musical training of nursery teachers at the digital ageAbstractThis article presents an experience of innovation and research in higher education which seeks to elucidate the influence of New Information and Communication Technologies (NICTs) in the musical training of student teachers. By creating an experience of a logbook (blog) and through questionnaires and surveys to students sought to reflect on the growing role of ICTs in university education and the role they must spend to play both faculty and students.

A new world is emerging to higher education worldwide. In Brazil, higher education took a significant turn in the last years with the substantial reductions of government investments in social justice policies. To compensate for the downturn of enrollment of new students in on-campus programs, universities started to invest heavily in distance education online programs and social media strategies. This new trend brought to the core of their strategy the necessity to develop new information and communication technologies to make the students' experience more enjoyable, to facilitate the learning process, and to increase enrollments. This process will enable professors and educators to create inspiring links with their students and within the cyberculture environment. The main objective of this chapter is to contribute to the debate of the uses of social media, cyberculture, and blockchain technology for the development of educational strategies. Therefore, it will review the existing scientific literature on social networking, social media, cyberculture, and blockchains related to Brazil.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are the major driving forces of globalised and knowledge-based societies of a new world era. They will have a profound impact on teaching and learning for two decades to come. The revolutionary change which is taking place in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), has dramatic effects on the way universities carry out their functions of teaching, learning and research, particularly on the creation, dissemination and application of knowledge. These developments pose unprecedented challenges to higher education institutions (HEIs) in developing countries particular in South Africa as South Africa is viewed as the leading country on the continent.

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are key to create sustainable higher education institutions (HEIs). Most researchers focused on the students’ perspective, especially during the online teaching caused by COVID-19; however, university teachers are often forgotten, having their opinion missing. This study’s objective was to determine the factors that contribute to the inclusion of ICTs. The research based on a comparative study through an online qualitative survey focused on the inclusion and use of ICTs in two HEIs and two different moments (pre-and post-lockdowns). There were differences regarding country and working experience (p < 0.001), being linked to the ICTs use, evaluation of obstacles, and the role given to ICTs (p < 0.05). The COVID-19 caused modifications of the teachers’ perspectives, including an improvement of the opinion of older teachers regarding the essentialness of ICTs in the teaching process (p < 0.001) and worsening their perception about their ICTs skill (p < 0.05). Additionally, an initial model focused only on the university teachers and their use of ICTs has been proposed. In conclusion, the less experienced university teachers used more ICTs, identified more greatly the problematic factors, and considered more important the ICTs, with the perception of all teachers modified by COVID-19.
