This chapter presents the key elements of green agricultural marketing, referring to distribution and promotion. Similarities and discrepancies of conventional and green marketing of agricultural products are identified, using comparative analysis. Models of sustainable distribution and promotions are designed. The results and discussions reveal that green products, distribution and promotion meet both ecological principles (referring to environment), and economic ones (reduced costs). Green agricultural marketing is ethical, beneficial and safe for individuals and target groups.

Agriculture is an important integral part of Latvia’s economy. Recently it has suffered a significant decline due to a price disparity, out–of–date technology, and stiff competition with cheap imported agricultural products, inflation and long–lasting unsuccessful structural reforms. At present most farms work with losses or low profitability and therefore can not provide the reproduction of fixed assets which is a vital prerequisite of efficient agricultural production. The comparative analysis of reproduction of farms’ fixed assets in Latgale and in Latvia is performed in the paper. In contrast to the previously done research, the focus is on analysis of various derived indicators such as net investments per European size unit, total utilised agricultural area and livestock unit. Special attention has been paid to the subsidies on investment as a gratis external source of finance and their proportion in gross investments.

The agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan has the objectives on increasing the volume of production of competitive, export-oriented agricultural products and increasing labor productivity by 2.5 times by 2022. Thus, the country's agricultural policy is aimed at ensuring food security. The goal -is to analyze the current state of providing the population of the republic with food at the expense of own production and to identify further ways of its development. Methods – comparative analysis, statistical and economical for market research; systematic approach. Results - The Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 9, 2016, No.503, approved scientifically grounded physiological norms of food consumption. In connection with the pandemic, the State has set the priority anti-crisis tasks to achieve the stability of the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan, including regulation of prices for agricultural products. The conducted comparative analysis showed that the population in the country is mainly provided with domestic food products within the established standards, with the exception of poultry meat, cheese, cottage cheese, fruits, berries, vegetables, sugar and fish. The undertaken measures show that in the near future they will allow increasing the scale of production of these food products, which is quite justified. It has been determined that the republic has potential opportunities, in particular, natural and labor resources for import substitution. Conclusions - meeting the needs of the republic's residents for all types of their own products requires deep research. State regulation of agricultural market is aimed at improving the living standards of the population in the regions by creating favorable conditions for the development of crop production, animal husbandry, food industry, social infrastructure, and technical equipment.

Entrepreneurship development represents one of the very important factors in the development of economies in transition. Bearing in mind that most of these economies still have a significant share of agricultural products in the structure of production and exports, special attention should be paid to the development of entrepreneurship in the field of agriculture. The research results in this paper indicate that the share of entrepreneurs in this business activity in the total number of entrepreneurs is extremely low, as well as that their share in employment in state subventions is also low, and it can be concluded that entrepreneurship in agriculture is still not sufficiently developed. By using PROMETHEE and the entropy method, a comparative analysis of the performance of entrepreneurs in this sector and entrepreneurs in other business activities within the real sector of the economy was performed and it was concluded that the key limitations in the business operations of these entrepreneurs are inefficient funds management and high indebtedness.

The paper presents a regional comparative analysis of agricultural products transported by truck among five states - Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota in 1997 and 2002. Sections of the paper include a brief history of the trucking industry, an outline of inefficiencies in truck transportation, discussion on the uniformity of trucking regulations, and analysis of the value and tonnage of commodities transported within the five-state region. The comparison reveals Nebraska is a major source of agricultural commodities for its neighbors and the country as a whole.
