This book traces the evolution of the archive across the centuries by looking at primitive, Medieval, Renaissance, Victorian and contemporary archives. Crucially, the book evidences the fluidity and potential inter-changeability between libraries, archives and museums. A number of case studies offer an insight into the operation of a variety of different types of archives, including cabinets of curiosity, archival artforms, architectures, performances, road-shows, time capsules, social media documentation practices, databases, and a variety of museological web-based heritage platforms. The archive is shown to play a crucial role in how individuals and social groups administer themselves through and within a burgeoning social memory apparatus. This is why at the heart of every industrial revolution thus far, the archive continues to contribute to the way we store, preserve and generate knowledge through an accumulation of documents, artifacts, objects, as well as ephemera and even debris. The archive has always been strategic for different types of economies, including the digital economy and the internet of things. Shown here to increasingly affect to the way we map, produce, and share knowledge, the apparatus of the archive, which allows us to continuously renew who we are in relation to the past, so that new futures may become possible, now effectively pervades almost every aspect of our lives.

History has always been a great indicator of past behaviour as well as of future trends. However, when you think of what future jobs may look like, you do not certainly expect to find a plausible response in the past. Technologies and scientific advancements in general make it almost impossible to predict what you will be required to know in order to get—or maintain—your job in the next six months, let alone in the next couple of years. Whilst disruption seems such a new concept nowadays, we will learn that disruptive innovations have always been part of our story. The authors look at the major industrial revolutions known to humans and discuss patterns to help us prepare for the forthcoming future.

This chapter argues that the Internet and its broad array of social media effectively constitute an endless historical archive that immerses historians “in an expanded, and expanding, collection of fragments.” This immersion coincides time-wise with changing historical approaches that embrace cultural forms and new ontologies, epistemologies, and methodologies. Using three historical genres—reconstructionism, constructionism, and deconstructionism—the chapter analyzes the ways that sport historians do, and could, engage with the Internet. For reconstructionists, the Internet facilitates research by providing access to sites, artifacts, news, and official documents, but does not fundamentally alter practice. Constructionists use social theory to investigate not only the documents and other remnants of the past but also the repositories of those items, such as libraries, archives, museums, and the Internet itself. Meanwhile, for deconstructionists—who focus on the production and form of historical narratives—the Internet changes the way narratives are represented and understood and enables new ways of arranging and presenting subject matter.

Many industries and people around the world are utilizing these applications to perform daily life operations. Therefore, technological innovations are continuously improving in every sector. For instance, in many hospitals, COVID-19 patients are monitored using the IoT-based networks on a regular basis with the ability to make decisions with the aid of the artificial intelligence. Industrial Revolution 4.0 is another technology that is helping business in current pandemic situation. In current pandemic, internet and 4G networks are playing important roles. These networks demand heavy bandwidth and show new future industries trends. In this chapter, the authors have discussed IoT, IR 4.0, AI, and social media applications' roles and impact on society, usability, and future trend demands.

The economic diversification concept gives hope for a country with rich natural resources to strengthen its economic basis. Thus industrial revolution era of 4.0 provides great opportunity to fasten the process. A study by McKensey in 2011 proved that the internet in the developing country contributes around 3.4% towards its GDP which means that the internet has become a new hope for the economy in the future. Indonesia is one of the countries that is attempting to maximize the role of the Internet of Things (IoT) for its economic growth.� The attempt has made the retail and tourism industries as the two main sectors to experience the significant effect of IoT. The concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) has evolved over time. The introduction of the Internet of Things and Services into the manufacturing environment has ushered in a fourth industrial revolution: Industry 4.0. It is no doubt that the world is undergoing constant transformations that somehow change the trajectory and history of humanity. We can illustrate this with the first and second industrial revolutions and the information revolution. IoT is a paradigm based on the internet that comprises many interconnected technologies like RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and WSAN (Wireless Sensor and Actor Networks) to exchange information. The current needs for better control, monitoring and management in many areas, and the ongoing research in this field, have originated the appearance and creation of multiple systems like smart-home, smart-city and smart-grid. The IoT services can have centralized or distributed architecture. The centralized approach provides is where central entities acquire, process, and provide information while the distributed architectures, is where entities at the edge of the network exchange information and collaborate with each other in a dynamic way. To understand the two approaches, it is necessary to know its advantages and disadvantages especially in terms of security and privacy issues. This paper shows that the distributed approach has various challenges that need to be solved. But also, various interesting properties and strengths. In this paper we present the main research challenges and the existing solutions in the field of IoT security, identifying open issues, the industrial revolution and suggesting some hints for future research.

In March of 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak forced people to lock themselves inside their homes and begin the process of transitioning from face-to-face activities at work, schools and universities to a 100 % virtual method. Even when Communication Technologies (ICT) and online platforms have seen growth over the past two decades, including various virtual libraries developed by database publishers or web-based training programs that appear to shorten the learning curve (Lee, Hong y Nian, 2002), many people were unprepared for this transition and all of them are now dedicated to entering the new reality. In this order of ideas, the activities that have traditionally required the assistance of the staff have had to adapt with the use of new tools, which meet daily needs. A clear example is the field work collection tasks. In this group, there are different types such as surveys, photographs, reviews or on-site inspections. The current work presents the use of tools for collecting, validating, analysing and presenting data remotely and in real time. All of them based on the ArcGIS Online platform.

By analyzing the current situation of experimental platforms which is based on the Internet of Things (IOT) and the cultivation of talents, we established the talents' cultivating orientation and experiment platform for innovation. In accordance with the requirements of a students' practical and creative ability curriculum, the method of modularization was adopted to design this platform. With this, the platform can basically satisfy the needs of the varying teaching experiments, which can increase opportunities for the students on their comprehensive application. The platform was widely used in experimental and practice teaching in the past three years, such as synthetic experiment, graduate programs, and practice project in Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, Guilin University of Technology etc. Result shows that the innovation experimental platform has broad application prospects, and effectiveness to meet the requirements of students' in-depth learning and research of IOT technologies. Meanwhile, the platform expanded the students' basic understanding of IOT and improved their innovation.
