A field experiment was conducted during summer season of 2015 at the Crop Research Centre of Department of Agriculture, Mata Gujri College, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to study Response of phosphorus and sulphur application on Growth and yield attributes of mungbean (Vigna radiata L). The number of plants in meter row length was recorded highest with the application of 40 kg /ha followed by 20 kg S/ha and control. The highest plant height was recorded with the application of 40 kg S/ha which was statistically at par with application of 20 kg S/ha it was significantly superior over the control during all observation stages of crop. However at 30 and 60 DAS, the number of branches per plant recorded maximum with the application of 40 kg P2O5/ha followed by 60 kg P2O5/ha and control. At harvest, the application of 60 kg P2O5/ha recorded highest number of branches per plant but was statistically at par with other levels of phosphorus. The maximum number of grains per pod was recorded with the application of 60 kg P2O5/ha which was statistically at par with 40 kg P2O5/ha. It was found that the pod length was maximum with the application of 40 kg S/ha followed by 20 kg S/ha and control. The maximum grain yield was recorded with the application of 60 kg P2O5/ha which was significantly superior to other treatments.

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of TIBA (0, 20, 50, 100, 150 mg/l) on the growth and yield attributes of BARI Mung?5 laid out in RBD. Plant height decreased due to TIBA treatments. Number of branches and leaves per plant were found to increase in all the treatments at all the ages of growth except at 7 DAS and the maximum number of branches and leaves were recorded due to 20 mg/l TIBA treatment. Dry matter per plant increased due to 20 mg/l TIBA in most cases and was significantly highest at harvest. All the yield contributing characters showed positive response to 20 mg/l TIBA treatment. Number of pods and seeds per plant and fresh and dry weights of pods significantly differed from all other treatments. Increase in yield per plant and yield per hectare following 20 mg/l TIBA was 22.60 and 22.80% over the control, respectively. A field experiment was carried out at College Farm, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari on clayey soils during summer season of the year 2019 to study the Effect of iron and zinc on growth, yield and quality of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) under south Gujarat condition. The results of experiment indicated that growth and yield attributes viz., plant height at 60 DAS and at harvest, number of branches per plant, number of nodules per plant, number of pods per plant, pod length, seed and haulm yield (955 and 2008 kg/ha, respectively) and test weight increased significantly with soil application of FeSO4 @ 25.0 kg/ha which was significantly higher over control but remained at par with soil application of 12.5 kg FeSO4/ha. Similarly zinc is also an essential plant nutrient for plant growth and yield. Zinc application had also positive effect on growth and yield attributes viz., plant height at 60 DAS and at harvest, number of branches per plant, number of nodules per plant, number of pods per plant, pod length, seed and haulm yield (972 and 2030 kg/ha, respectively) and test weight increased significantly with soil application of ZnSO4 @ 25.0 kg/ha which was significantly higher over control but remained at par with soil application of 12.5 kg ZnSO4/ha. Significant improvement in protein content in seed with soil application of both FeSO4 and ZnSO4 @ 25.0 kg/ha.

A field trail was carried out at the research farm of the School of Forestry and Environment, SHIATS, Allahabad. The experimental research site is situated at an altitude of 90 m above the sea level at 25.570 N latitude and 81.510 E longitudes. The experiment comprised seven treatments replicated thrice. The maximum germination % (96.67%), plant height (83.73cm), number of branches/ plant (11.93), fresh weight (185.28g), dry weight (45.73g), at 110 days after sowing (DAS), number of pods/plant (91.67), number of seeds/pod (3.93), pod length (6.93 cm),test weight (90.73g), seed yield (23.87q/ha), straw yield (40.73 q/ha) and harvest index (36.94%) recorded in treatment T5. The result showed that the applications of organic manure (50% Farmyard Manure + 50% Vermicompost) maximized the soybean growth and yield under subabul trees. Therefore, it may be concluded that 50% Farmyard Manure + 50% Vermicompost can be recommended for growing soybean under subabul based Agroforestry system for obtaining better growth and yield.

The study on “Effect of mepiquat chloride and detopping on growth and production of green gram (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) under vertisols of Punjab” was conducted during summer season of 2017 at the Agricultural Campus for research and advanced studies in Dhablan, Punjab. The field experiment comprising 8 treatments viz., control and 7 growth retardant treatments The result revealed that the grain yield obtained with application of MC @ 250 ppm at 35 and 45 DAS (10.22 q ha-1 ) was significantly higher than control (6.35 q ha-1 ). Various growth and yield attributes dry weight, number of pods plant-1 (8.12) number of branches plant-1 (9.00) were also significantly higher with MC @ 250 ppm (35 and 45 DAS) as compared to control. All treatments resulted in significant reduction in plant height as compare to control. The experimental results revealed that application of plant growth regulator (MC) is an effective management strategy to increase the yield of green gram crop in terms of yield.

An experiment was carried-out with forty-eight hybrids of pigeonpea and two checks for nine characters at Agricultural Research Station, Tandur (Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University). Analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the hybrids for all the nine characters studied. The results of genetic parameters revealed that, high genotypic (GCV) and phenotypic coefficients of variations (PCV) were observed for seed yield and number of pods per plant. Six characters viz., number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, pod length, test weight and seed yield exhibited high heritability estimates coupled with high genetic advance as per cent of mean which suggested that these traits were amenable for further improvement following simple selection methods. Character association revealed significant positive association of seed yield with plant height,number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and pod length. Based on divergence studies, the hybrids were grouped into nine clusters in Tocher’s method, cluster II (14 hybrids) was the largest followed by cluster I (13), cluster VI (9), cluster IV (6), cluster IX (4) and the remaining clusters were solitary (III, V, VII and VIII). Out of the nine characters studied, seed yield, days to 50% flowering, test weight and plant height contributed 85.62 per cent of the total divergence and these traits were found to be important factors for genetic differentiation in the hybrids. The overall results of the study revealed that, hybrids under cluster IV and VIII and cluster VII and VIII had maximum and minimum inter cluster distances respectively and possessing high genetic diversity for the characters viz. plant height, number of branches per plant, number of seeds per pod and yield.

All India coordinated Research Project on linseed conducted a field experiment on Agriculture Farm, College of Agriculture, Nagpur under Dr. PDKV, Akola, Maharashtra during Rabi Season of 2019-20 in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replication. Three genotypes NL – 356, JLS-95, T-397 were tested with three nutrient levels i.e. 50 % RDF, 100% RDF and 150 % RDF. The result revealed yield potential of the entry NL-356 was 26% highest over JLS-95 and 13% more on T-397 under rainfed condition. However, the increase in nutrient level from 50 % RDF to 150 % RDF influence the growth and yield attributes which favours the increase in yield. Therefore, it is concluded that genotype NL 356 with 100 % RDF achieve higher growth rate i.e. plant height, number of branches as well as yield attributes number of capsules per plant, number of seed per capsule and highest NMR and B:C ratio.

A field experiment was conducted comprising two varieties of mungbean, BARI Mung-5 (V1) and BARI Mung-6 (V2), and five levels of phosphorus fertilizer: triple super phosphate [Ca(H<sub>2</sub>PO<sub>4</sub>)] viz. T1 (control), T2 (42.5 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup>), T3 (85 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup>), T4 (127.5 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup>), and T5 (170 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup>). The experiment was organized in a randomized complete block design with three replications. V1 produced the highest number of pods per plant (7.65), whereas the maximum 1,000-seed weight (49 g) was produced by V2. The maximum plant height (30.89 cm), number of branches per plant (8.55), number of leaves per plant (19.05), number of pods per plant (10.25), pod length (8.95 cm), number of seeds per pod (9.11), 1,000-seed weight (48.17 g), and yield (1.05 t ha<sup>−1</sup>) were obtained from the T4 treatment. The interaction of phosphorus levels and varieties had a considerable effect on the growth, yield, and yield attributes of mungbean. The highest number of leaves (20.44) and number of pods (10.39) were obtained from V1 when 127.5 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup> (T4) was applied, whereas the maximum number of seeds per pod (9.25) and maximum pod length (9.09 cm) were obtained when  85 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup> and 42.5 kg P ha<sup>−1</sup>, respectively, were used. The highest number of branches per plant (8.87), 1,000-seed weight (52.83 g), and the maximum seed yield (1.14 t ha<sup>−1</sup>) were achieved from the treatment V2T4 owing to the interactive effect of phosphorus dose and mungbean variety.

The experiment comprising of four levels of phosphorus, i.e., 0, 20, 40 and 60 kg ha-1 and four levels of zinc, i.e., 0, 5, 10 and 15 kg ha-1 was conducted to investigate the interaction effect of phosphorus and zinc fertilization on yield and yield attributes of green gram [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] cv. SML-668. The treatments were laid out in Randomized Block Design (Factorial) with three replications. The results revealed that plant height, number of pods plant-1, 1000 seed weight, seed and stover yield were increased significantly up to 60 kg ha-1 phosphorus and 10 kg ha-1 zinc treatment levels. Further increase in zinc levels found to decrease the yield and yield attributing traits, indicating antagonistic effect of phosphorus and zinc on each other. The highest plant height, number of pods plant-1, 1000 seed weight, seed and stover yield (at 60 kg P ha-1 and 10 kg Zn ha-1 treatment level) were 48.70 cm, 27.15, 32.70 g, 957.25 and 2398.30 kg ha-1, respectively. Thus, interaction of phosphorus and zinc was significant for all the growth and yield attributing parameters.

A field experiment was conducted at Central Farm Unit situated in Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Killikulam during Rabi 2011-12 to evaluate the effect of spacing (120×30cm, 120×20 cm, 90×30 cm and 90×20 cm) and fertilizer levels (12.5:25:12.5, 18.75:37.5:18.75, 25:50:25, 31.25:62.5:31.25 kg N, P2O5, K2O/ha and control) on yield attributes of Dhaincha. The results revealed that spacing adopted with 120×30 cm significantly recorded higher number of pods/plant (53.7), pod length (19.94 cm), number of seeds/pod (28.52) and seed yield (585 kg/ha) of Dhaincha. In respect of different fertilizer levels, application NPK @ 31.25:62.5:31.25 kg/ha perceived higher yield attributes (number of pods/plant (48.8), pod length (17.98), number of seeds/ pod (29.28) and seed yield (609 kg/ha). Combination of spacing (120×30 cm) with fertilizer levels of 31.25:62.5:31.25 kg/ha significantly recorded higher seed yield of 705 kg/ha.

A Field investigation was carried out to study the effects of organic (FYM) and inorganic nitrogen alone or in combination with bio-fertilizer consortium (Azotobacter, PSB and PGPR) on growth, yield attributes, yield and economics of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) during 2012-13 at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. The treat-ments were comprised of 75, 100 (25 t ha-1 FYM ~ 125 kg N ha-1) and 125 per cent of recommended N and control. Results revealed that application of organic manure (FYM) had beneficial effects on the growth, yield attributes and yield of turmeric. The maximum yield of 204.4 q ha-1 was obtained with application of 125 per cent of recommended organic manure combined with the bio-fertilizers, which was statistically at par with that of 100 per cent of recom-mended organic manure alone or in combination with the bio-fertilizers. Application of bio-fertilizers improved the growth and yield of turmeric to some extent.
