Abstract Numerical 3D-simulations of thermal loads of thermal diamond filter for the working station 1-5 of synchrotron “SKIF” has been performed. An efficient version of a water-cooling system of a CVD diamond by means of mini-channels in copper flanges with a total heat release power of 1290 W is presented. The influence of various configurations of the cooling system, different boundary conditions (thermal insulation, radiation heat exchange), water supply pressure on the maximum temperature in diamond wafer has been investigated. The influence of the temperature dependence of the properties of diamond glass has been studied. The maximum temperature on the diamond wafer is found to be 317.6 °C absorbing 1290 W of power correspond to the safe mode for some specific cooling system configuration. The corresponding flow rate of 7 °C cooling water was 13.1 l/min.

In the search for increased productivity and efficiency in the industrial sector, a new industrial revolution, called Industry 4.0, was promoted. In the electric sector, power plants seek to adapt these new concepts to optimize electric power generation processes, as well as to reduce operating costs and unscheduled downtime intervals. In these plants, PID control strategies are commonly used in water cooling systems, which use fans to perform the thermal exchange between water and the ambient air. However, as the nonlinearities of these systems affect the performance of the drivers, sometimes a greater number of fans than necessary are activated to ensure water temperature control which, consequently, increases energy expenditure. In this work, our objective is to develop digital twins for a water cooling system with auxiliary equipment, in terms of the decision making of the operator, to determine the correct number of fans. This model was developed based on the algorithm of automatic extraction of fuzzy rules, derived from the SCADA of a power plant located in the capital of Paraíba, Brazil. The digital twins can update the fuzzy rules in the case of new events, such as steady-state operation, starting and stopping ramps, and instability. The results from experimental tests using data from 11 h of plant operations demonstrate the robustness of the proposed digital twin model. Furthermore, in all scenarios, the average percentage error was less than 5% and the average absolute temperature error was below 3 °C.

Abstract With the increase of spindle speed, heat generation becomes the crucial problem of high-speed motorized spindle. A new cooling system for motorized spindle is proposed based on the principles of thermoelectric refrigeration and fast heat conduction. The main strategy of the proposed ThermoElectric-based Cooling System (TECS) is using the ThermoElectric Cooler (TEC) to cool the spindle through a Heat Conduction Sleeve (HCS). The TEC is designed according to the heat generation of motorized spindle. The cooling capacity generated by the TEC is controlled by electric current passing through the TEC according to the temperature rise of HCS. The HCS is designed to distribute the cold quickly and is installed around the spindle sleeve working as cooling medium. The simulation results show that the cooling effect of the proposed TECS is better than water water-cooling system. It is meaningful to improve the accuracy of motorized spindle.

The relevance of research is to ensure and improve the reliability of turbine generators (TG) with a hydrogen-water cooling system by monitoring the content of dissolved gases in the water of a hydrogen-water cooling system with monoethanolamine (MEA) – C2H7NO and water vapor in the cooling hydrogen of the turbine. In this work, the influence of ultrasonic vibrations on the decomposition of a mixture of water and turbine oil, organic acids (acetic acid - С2Н4О2, formic acid - СН2О2, oxalic acid - С2Н2О4) or monoethanolamine was determined. The distribution coefficients values were definedd for the following dissolved gases Н2, О2, N2, СО, СН4, С2Н2, С2Н4, С2Н6, С3Н6, С3Н8, which are of degradation products of water mix components when exposed to ultrasonic oscillation in the following system: «dissolved gas – mixture «water + monoethanolamine» – extractant argon (Ar)». The obtained values of the Кі distribution coefficients for dissolved gases in systems «dissolved gas – mixture «water + С2Н7NО» – extractant argon (Ar)» at a temperature of 293 K and a concentration of С2Н7NО at the level of 1 g/dm3 are close to similar values for dissolved gases in deionized water. The principle flow chart of multichannel gas chromatograph for detecting dissolved gases in water and steam of water in hydrogen was developed. Developed flow chart of 4-chennel gas chromatographer for defining dissolved gases in water includes the one gas chromatographer with conductivity detector, methanator, flame ionization detector, argon gas-bearing and supplementary gases of hydrogen and air.
