Abstract We argue in this article that Marx’s scientific method coupled with his analysis of the phenomenological consciousness of agents trapped within the capitalist mode of production provides a sufficient solution to the transformation problem. That is, Marx needs no amending – mathematical, philosophical, or otherwise – and the tools he uses to demonstrate and resolve the problem – science and phenomenology – were already clearly spelled out in his texts. Critics of Marx either fail to understand his scientific method, or are themselves trapped within a non-scientific capitalist phenomenology. Similarly, Marxists that mathematically resolve the transformation problem fail to realise that Marx’s scientific analysis alone demonstrates that a mathematical solution to the transformation problem is a misapprehension of the relation between Marx’s abstract theory and concrete phenomena. Consequently, we also criticise the monetary theorists who try to dismiss the problem as pointless by claiming that Marx was not a pre-monetary theorist.

Our purpose is to introduce a notion of weak solution for a class of abstract fractional differential equations. We point out that the time fractional derivative occurring in the equations is in the sense of the Caputo derivative. We prove existence results for weak and strong solutions. To justify the abstract theory we develop, we apply two examples of concrete equations: time-fractional wave equations and time-fractional Petrovsky systems. Both these concrete examples are of great interest in the theory of fractional partial differential equations.

This chapter completes the study of doctrinal contest between Malthus and Ricardo by considering their rival treatments of profits. Ricardo’s account gave a central role to his idea of the ‘natural wage’, in which he adapted Malthus’s arguments on population for his own purposes. Ricardo also completed his destruction of Smith’s arguments regarding capital allocation and the quasi-providential properties of the system of natural liberty, as expressed in Smith’s overly quoted notion of an ‘invisible hand’. Ricardo’s uncomprehending reading of Wealth of Nations combined with his doctrinal correction of Smith appears, in hindsight, to have been a toxic reception context for Smith’s work. Malthus responded to Ricardo’s account of profits by claiming to have bested him both theoretically and practically by keeping his analysis open to all causal factors and by being able to account for the relevant facts of Britain’s commercial history. Once again, Malthus targeted the hastiness of Ricardo the theorist in attempting to simplify what could not be simplified. In his response, Ricardo had few rhetorical resources with which to defend the legitimacy of abstract theory.

Abstract: Theory is a thing that is seen as monotonous and hinders fieldwork for people who are used to the field, but the real purpose of theory is to determine the professional nature of workers, just as management theory is needed to manage worker activities in order to get work agreements. which is good and does not burden one side, both from the workers and the company. This journal contains the stages of development of management theory in the world, compiled based on references that are owned even though they are limited     Keywords: Management, Workers, Professionalism

"We examine the significance and necessity of introducing applied drama into clinical ethics education to build ethics competency. Case-based clinical ethics, distant from abstract theory-based discursive ethics, pays close attention to emotions of persons involved in a given case, and of participants in deliberation. Some authors have sensibly emphasized this point. For example, CURA, a reflective method puts forward the crucial step to become aware of own emotions and physical reactions to each difficult situation. These suggest that we should not stay just in rational reasoning to resolve moral problems in clinical settings. Such a stream seems to lead us to the next stage of clinical ethics education. Applied drama is an umbrella term for the various ways to use theatrical elements, outside of theaters, in educational settings. The basic conception is playing. It includes two meanings: gaming and acting. Generally, we stop playing when we grow up. Applied drama encourages us to play again. Playing promotes communications in verbal and physical. In acting like an acting person, we are to put ourselves in another person’s standpoint. Through acting a role, we may live her life and feel vividly his emotion but by imagination. Thus, applied drama has great potentiality to change the mode of discussion – or deliberation-based clinical ethics. As applied drama comprises various ways such as improvisation, forum theatre, and so on. We will explore their features and application in actual teaching settings. "

The deeds office practice was recently (dis)honoured by the Supreme Court of Appeal’s (SCA) decision in Bester NNO v Schmidt Bou Ontwikkelings CC, which was expected to address an “interpretative dearth” with regard to the application of section 4(1)(b) of the Deeds Registries Act 47 of 1937 (DRA). The main issue (for the purpose of this note) in this case related to two questions. The first question before the court was the applicability of the abstract theory of ownership to immovable property and how it impacts on the registration of such ownership in the deeds office. The second question dealt with the correct procedure in terms of the DRA to rectify a mistaken transferarising from an incorrect property description in the title deed. With reference to the second question, the SCA applied section 4(1)(b) as a remedy to rectify the mistaken transfer of the property. This note analyses the decision in Bester v Schmidt Bou with regard to the manner in which the respondent, Schmidt Bou Ontwikkellings CC (Schmidt Bou), applied for an order for rectification of the mistaken transfer of an incorrect property, and the court’s application of the relevant provisions of the DRA. The note will conclude with a discussion of alternative provisions of the DRA which could be applied to remedy the dispute in this case.

We consider the orbital stability of solitary waves to the double dispersion equation utt−uxx+h1uxxxx−h2uttxx+f(u)xx=0,h1>0,h2>0 with combined power-type nonlinearity f(u)=a|u|pu+b|u|2pu,p>0,a∈R,b∈R,b≠0. The stability of solitary waves with velocity c, c2<1 is proved by means of the Grillakis, Shatah, and Strauss abstract theory and the convexity of the function d(c), related to some conservation laws. We derive explicit analytical formulas for the function d(c) and its second derivative for quadratic-cubic nonlinearity f(u)=au2+bu3 and parameters b>0, c2∈0,min1,h1h2. As a consequence, the orbital stability of solitary waves is analyzed depending on the parameters of the problem. Well-known results are generalized in the case of a single cubic nonlinearity f(u)=bu3.

AbstractWe consider the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator associated to a strictly elliptic operator on the space $$\mathrm {C}(\partial M)$$ C ( ∂ M ) of continuous functions on the boundary $$\partial M$$ ∂ M of a compact manifold $$\overline{M}$$ M ¯ with boundary. We prove that it generates an analytic semigroup of angle $$\frac{\pi }{2}$$ π 2 , generalizing and improving a result of Escher with a new proof. Combined with the abstract theory of operators with Wentzell boundary conditions developed by Engel and the author, this yields that the corresponding strictly elliptic operator with Wentzell boundary conditions generates a compact and analytic semigroups of angle $$\frac{\pi }{2}$$ π 2 on the space $$\mathrm {C}(\overline{M})$$ C ( M ¯ ) .
