The synthesis of a terbium-based 2D metal–organic framework (MOF), of formula [Tb(MeCOO)(PhCOO)2] (1), a crystalline material formed by neutral nanosheets held together by Van der Waals interactions, is presented. The material can be easily exfoliated by sonication and deposited onto different substrates. Uniform distributions of Tb-2D MOF flakes onto silicon were obtained by spin-coating. We report the luminescent and magnetic properties of the deposited flakes compared with those of the bulk. Complex 1 is luminescent in the visible and has a sizeable quantum yield of QY = 61% upon excitation at 280 nm. Photoluminescence measurements performed using a micro-Raman set up allowed us to characterize the luminescent spectra of individual flakes on silicon. Magnetization measurements of flakes-on-silicon with the applied magnetic field in-plane and out-of-plane display anisotropy. Ac susceptibility measurements show that 1 in bulk exhibits field-induced slow relaxation of the magnetization through two relaxation paths and the slowest one, with a relaxation time of τlf ≈ 0.5 s, is assigned to a direct process mechanism. The reported exfoliation of lanthanide 2D-MOFs onto substrates is an attractive approach for the development of multifunctional materials and devices for different applications.

Abstract Zinc oxide pigments belong besides titanium dioxide and zinc sulfide pigments to the most important inorganic whites. The pigments are mostly used in paints, coatings, artists’ colors, and cosmetics. Zinc oxide pigments are synthesized using various processes. The direct process (American process), the indirect process (French process), and the wet process have the greatest industrial importance for the production of ZnO pigments.

Prior research has indicated that perception of acceleration may be a direct process. This direct process may be conceptually linked to the ecological approach to visual perception and a further extension of direct social perception. The present study examines the effects of perception of acceleration in virtual reality on participants’ perceived attributes (perceived intelligence and animacy) of a virtual human-like robot agent and perceived agent competitive/cooperativeness. Perceptual judgments were collected after experiencing one of the five different conditions dependent on the participant’s acceleration: mirrored acceleration, faster acceleration, slowed acceleration, varied acceleration resulting in a win, and varied acceleration resulting in a loss. Participants experienced each condition twice in a counterbalanced fashion. The focus of the experiment was to determine whether different accelerations influenced perceptual judgments of the observers. Results suggest that faster acceleration was perceived as more competitive and slower acceleration was reported as low in animacy and perceived intelligence.

This study aims to obtain objective information about the leadership type of KH. R. Sadad MB. Bukhori at Islamic Boarding School. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data obtained from primary sources is taken from research results and secondary data from books and documents. While the technique of data collection is by observing and interviewing. The results showed that: First, decision making KH. R. Sadad MB. Bukhori is carried out by a process that is not unilateral but is carried out through a deliberation process; Second, communication KH. R. Sadad MB. Bukhori is carried out by a process whereby members communicate with superiors to subordinates as well as subordinates to superiors so as to cause beneficial reciprocity between the two parties; Third, the supervision of KH. R. Sadad MB. Bukhori is carried out by direct process of subordinates, supervision is not to find fault but rather to find solutions. In general, this study concluded that the success achieved from the leadership of KH. R. Sadad MB. Bukhori significantly increased, which can be seen from the education system implemented by pesantren and from the development of improved facilities.

This paper describes a method for patterning the graphene layer and gold electrodes on a ceramic substrate using a Nd:YAG nanosecond fiber laser. The technique enables the processing of both layers and trimming of the sensor parameters. The main aim was to develop a technique for the effective and efficient shaping of both the sensory layer and the metallic electrodes. The laser shaping method is characterized by high speed and very good shape mapping, regardless of the complexity of the processing. Importantly, the technique enables the simultaneous shaping of both the graphene layer and Au electrodes in a direct process that does not require a complex and expensive masking process, and without damaging the ceramic substrate. Our results confirmed the effectiveness of the developed laser technology for shaping a graphene layer and Au electrodes. The ceramic substrate can be used in the construction of various types of sensors operating in a wide temperature range, especially the cryogenic range.
