Objectives: There are increasing demands for personal assistance services which help the disabled to carry out their daily life. To use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches more effectively in daily communication, it is essential to include the appropriate core and fringe vocabulary in the AAC system. Considering the fact that there are few studies in Korea which have reported fringe vocabulary compared to core vocabulary, this study is aimed to develop a noun list that can be used to promote interactive communication between the disabled and their assistants in each communication situation. Methods: A literature review was conducted to elicit frequently used nouns in each communication situation. Then, a survey was carried out to identify nouns with high word commonality across 105 personal assistants. Results: Sixty-three nouns with more than 50% of word commonality across personal assistants were identified from the 244 fringe vocabulary; consisting of 112 nouns in the area of going out, 29 in cleaning, 27 in personal hygiene, 26 in cooking, 20 in meal supporting, 20 in other service areas, and 10 in commuting. Conclusion: The identified nouns are expected to help people with complex communication needs to express their needs and wants more clearly and effectively using those nouns embedded in their AAC systems. The list of nouns can be used not only for people who receive personal assistance services, but also for people who rely on AAC systems to express their daily needs.

Objective: The objective of the study was to analyze whether the disclosure of HIV serological status among sexual partners is associated with differences in sexual affective behavior. Methods: Cross-sectional study was carried out with 173 participants in a specialized assistance service on the treatment of people with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Data were collected through interviews. Results: Our results show that from the participants who did not disclose their HIV status and who were sexually active, most had multiple sexual partners (44.6%), used combined methods of prevention (75.4%), had casual partners (63.0%), used condoms (66.2%), and had sexual intercourse while under the influence of alcohol (56.9%). The variables i.e., number of partners (p = 0.010) and type of relationship (p <0.001) showed statistical differences. Conclusion: Sexual affective behavior variables influenced the decision about disclosing HIV seropositivity to sexual partners that establish different forms of sexual partnerships.

Justification of recommendations increases trust between users and the system but also generates more relevant recommendations than recommendation systems that do not incorporate it. That is why, we conducted a justification study of the recommendation for IAAS. Our comparative study shows that IAAS, which currently does not offer the opportunity to justify recommendations, needs to be improved. From the analysis of justification methods studied in this work, it appears that none of these methods can be used effectively in IAAS. That is why, we proposed a new IAAS architecture that deals separately with item classification and the extraction of the justification has added the item during recommendation generation. The item selection method remains unchanged as we plan to implement a new strategy to filter user’s reviews should now be extended to four elements: the documentary unit, the group of users, the justification and the weight. Opinion A=(UD,G,J,a). Where UD represents the documentary unit, G the user group, J is the justification and a is the weight of the recommendation.

In this experience report as a therapist in a governmental program on the outskirts of the city of São Paulo, the goal was to understand, focusing on the socionomic methodology, how technicians and users of assistance service managed their day-to-day challenges in the community context. Two socio-dynamics were identified in the observed roles: the first one, named Victimized Bond System (VBS), assumes that most of the responsibility of the events belongs to third parties, involving expectation, guilt, scapegoating and consequent social exclusion; and the so-called Citizen Bond System (CBS), which attributes co-responsibility, involving dialogue and negotiation in search of viable solutions and generating social inclusion. VBS was proved less efficient in overcoming challenges and the socionomic intervention facilitated a transition from VBS to CBS.

The role of population management for the Emergency Assistance: transport of patients with a Covid-19 infection In Belgium, it is obvious for citizens that an ambulance service provides immediate assistance after calling the 112 emergency center. The National Council for Emergency Assistance (NRDGH), which is composed of various stakeholders involved, has drawn up a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for this purpose. The SLA states that in 90% of cases, a care recipient or someone in his or her environment who requests urgent assistance via a 112 call should receive that help within 15 minutes after the call. To guarantee this, there is a whole set of legislation and health professionals who maintain the system and pursue it in the pre-hospital phase. The entire healthcare system was put under a lot of pressure in 2020 due to the rapid spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. On the one hand, the demand for care increased and on the other hand, the pressure on the available capacity escalated. That was also the case for the Emergency Assistance. The number of calls in the emergency centers increased enormously. The health inspectorate feared a shortage of resources. At that time, it was important for the Emergency Assistance Service to organize itself so that the principle of immediate access to Emergency Assistance after a 112 call could be guaranteed. This was done through the triage of incoming calls and the allocation of 'dedicated ambulances', which were specifically used for the transport of patients with a Covid-19 infection.

This paper presents a conversational lifelog mining system, ConvLogMiner, which detects personal life events from the human online conversation in real-time. Given a daily conversation of two speakers, ConvLogMiner identifies the new life events specific to each speaker that occur in the latest utterances. The lifelogs mined by our system are useful to provide complementary information to support lifestyle analysis and memory assistance service.

The article aims to analyze the narrative of deaf and family members of an assistance service for the deaf people, identifying more striking perceptions in their life trajectories. The qualitative approach research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with three hearing mothers and three deaf children, former members of a university service for the deaf offered in the inland cities of the state of São Paulo, since the 1970’s. The results showed that the aspects with the greatest impact for the participants return to the moment of diagnosis and forwarding to the referred specialized service; the challenges experienced in the school trajectory and the communication barriers still faced in the interaction with society.
