We have been studying some seismicity characteristics connected with Simeonof earthquake of July 22, 2020 (Mw 7.8) in the area of Shumagin seismic gap, located in the region of South Alaska. 8 years before this event, the authors picked up here ring-shaped seismicity structure. Using characteristics of this structure we made a conclusion on preparation for large earth-quake (Mw~8), similarly to many events in subduction zones. We used data on threshold magnitude and size of the ring structure, and earlier obtained dependences of these parame-ters on magnitudes of main events for the subduction zones in the Eastern Pacific. Accumula-tion of new seismicity data prior to 2020/07/22 allowed us to specify the source location and magnitude of the Simeonof earthquake: Mw=7.9±0.3. It was shown that after this event new ring structures continued to form, which can correspond to preparation for larger earthquake: Mw=8.2±0.2. Geodynamical processes, which lead to formation of the ring structures, are discussing.

Abstract The site amplification characteristic is an important part of evaluation of seismic hazard since much of the damage caused by earthquakes may be attributed directly to the ground shaking. Identifying ahead of time such areas which are prone to amplified ground shaking due to earthquake could greatly aid seismic hazard evaluation as well as improved hazard mitigation effects. It is also a well known fact that in most cases site amplification/ shaking is stronger in low shear wave velocity areas. The objective of the present study is to estimate site characteristics of as many as 116 sites in an area of approximately 35 sq.km comprising various geological units including soft alluvial deposits which not only tend to amplify certain frequencies of ground motion but also extend the duration of earth quake that may cause further damage. The basic idea of this study is to decipher the natural ground response during quite period as well as triggered response by spectral analysis. The methodology adopted for the study is modified micro tremor which is based on ambient noise as well as triggered response. Further, the spectral ratio of H/V of ambient noise and triggered data by Nakamura method with short duration data were also estimated. In addition, based on some empirical relations, the site response frequency and amplification were also computed using the shear wave velocity obtained up to a depth of 30 m (VS30) by the method of multichannel analysis of surface wave (MASW) and depth to bed rock estimated through refraction seismic studies. The results of the study has shown that a simple comparison of spectra of quiet time data and triggered time data revealed that in alluvial soils with thick overburden, the signal amplification is more at low frequency (< 10 Hz), whereas in thin overburden the amplification was found to be low at low frequencies. The salient features of the study with merits are presented herein.

Kata Kunci: Bencana; BPBD; Distribusi Bantuan; MDMC; Paska Gempa Learning from Disaster Community Service: Distribution Pattern of Post-Lombok Earthquake Aid between MDMC and BPBDABSTRACTIndonesia is one the countries that has various potential disasters such as the Earth Quake. One of the Earth Quakes that reached magnitude of 6.8 Richter Scale (SR) was occurred at Lombok Island Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). A critical component that plays in the disaster management is humanitarian logistic supply. The community services program (PKM) with disaster theme was initiated by Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram. Total of 30 students were sent for assisting the humanitarian logistic supply post-earth quake at two main distribution focal point, namely Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre that located at Gedung Dakwah Pengurus Wilayah Muhammadiyah (PWM) NTB, and The Provincial Disaster Management Office (BPBD) that located at BPBD NTB office. The PKM concluded that the distribution of humanitarian logistic by MDMC and BPBD has different characteristic associated with management and strategy, these differences occurred due to operational guideline that referred by those two institution. Some of the characteristic differences include funding resource, coordination system, and human resources that generated the different distribution flow.         Keywords: Disaster; BPBD; Distribution Aid; MDMC; Post Earth Quake

The coronavirus outbreak, Covid-19, began in December 31, 2019 in Wuhan, China and quite quickly was spread in 212 countries and territories around the world. In Albania the first cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in March 2020. Covid -19 pandemic emergency has transformed into a worldwide financial emergency, putting in danger the wellbeing, occupations and salaries of millions of individuals around the planet. Coronavirus devastatingly affects the monetary security and prosperity of families. Since March 2020, the world economy has shed more than 13.3 million positions – 55% of them lost by ladies – setting off broad joblessness and sharp decreases in family incomes. Albania has been hit by two crushing stuns with hardly a pause in between: The November 2019 earth quake and the Covid-19 pandemic in spring 2020 that has frozen huge pieces of the economy. These stuns rule ongoing financial turns of events and the close term viewpoint for the economy. The main objective of this study is to investigate the impact that Covid-19, has had in personal income and also in the way that Albanian react in this situation related to family savings. To fulfil this objective, primary data are collected for the Tirana commune and its surroundings. In order to administer a considerable amount of data, a number of 1500 randomly selected individuals have been directly interviewed. From the data analysis we have concluded that most of the independent factors that we have chosen are significant in the three models. Also from the survey we have seen that the majority of the have changed their way of thinking related to personal and family savings. And as the main reason form this, they have listed the pandemic situation.
