The paper offers an analysis of media assistance, as a specific form of foreign aid, that Poland offers to strengthen media development in Belarus and Ukraine. It shows if Poland tailors media assistance according to the local context and existing challenges for democratic changes of recipient countries’ media systems. The study builds on the literature concerning the media, development and democratization, in particular looking at media assistance as both democratic aid and public diplomacy. It reveals that Poland’s approaches to media development in Belarus and Ukraine do differ: Poland mainly provides autocratic Belarus with technical support for media established outside of that country, while clearly focusing on media capacity development in democratizing Ukraine. The findings show that Polish media assistance, however, is unlikely to boost media freedom in Belarus as is usually expected as an outcome of democratic aid and is under-financed in the case of Ukraine.

AbstractEvaluating the impact of media assistance is challenging for several reasons. Primary among them is that these kinds of initiatives operate in a complex political, social, and cultural environment. Although there has been increased attention to evaluation of media assistance, with a series of international conferences, funded research projects, and publications addressing this topic, it remains a problematic area of practice. This paper provides a survey of recent media assistance evaluation practices through an analysis of 47 evaluation documents of programs and projects from 2002–2012, identifying trends in methodology choices, and critiquing the quality of the evidence enabled through different evaluation approaches. It finds clear patterns in how, when and by whom evaluations are undertaken, but finds that these practices rarely generate useful, insightful evaluations.

In today’s globally connected society, the transformation of state-administered broadcasters into public service broadcasters (PSB) in new democracies is part of international media development projects that seek to democratize media systems following the collapse of authoritarian ideologies in the 1990s. This article traces the ‘what, who, when and how’ of international media assistance, with particular focus on projects that sought to transform Indonesia’s state-run broadcasters into PSBs during the 2000s–2010s. Drawing on extensive library research and semi-structured interviews, this article demonstrates the role of international agencies in the promotion of public service media in post-authoritarian Indonesia. They have influenced civil societies, policy-makers and media elites and promoted a belief that an independent and public-owned media enable people to better participate in a mediated public sphere. In this manner, international agencies have influenced policy design as Indonesia has transformed its national state-owned broadcast channels from state institutions into public ones. However, this article also finds that global intervention has failed to influence the more specific elements of PSB policy and implementation. In Indonesia, global work has focused on national regulatory design, leaving implementation to local actors. Furthermore, Indonesia’s PSB policy is but ‘an imitative version’ of PSB policies in developed western countries, lacking a detailed guide for transforming the country’s state-channels into true PSBs.

Kata Kunci: Media Belajar Sains berbasis Ramah Lingkungan, Pendampingan, Penerapan, Praktikum AbstractThe purpose of this service activity is to study the development of teachers in making environmentally friendly science-based learning media and its use in the classroom. The learning media is very important as the interaction between the teacher and students or also students and students. This will increase the level of student understanding of the material presented. This activity was carried out for 2 (two) days on 31 July and 3 August 2019. Data collection was carried out through observation sheets and questionnaires using environmentally friendly science-based learning media. The results of the activities obtained the data that the teacher has been able of independent environmentally friendly science-based learning media and students are very happy and happy in the practical activities using the learning media. This activity must provide significant approval to the ability of students who carry out practical activities.Key Word: Environmentally Friendly Science-Based Learning Media, Assistance, Application, Practicum

The purpose of this study is to improve students' ability to add and subtract a number with the help of gravel media in class I students at SDN 177 / I Tapah Sari, Batanghari Regency, Jambi. This research was conducted in grade 1 students with a total of 13 male students and 11 female students. Before the improvement was held there were only 14 students who had not been able to reach the KKM 65, in the first cycle students who achieved KKM became 20 students, and in the second cycle increased to 24 students or all students had reached the KKM. From this study it can be seen that there is an increase in students' abilities as follows: On average before the holding of the improvement, 58.33% of the first cycle increased to 83.33% and in the second cycle increased again to 100%. This proves that the use of gravel media assistance can improve students' ability to add and subtract numbers.

The purpose of this study was to determine Generation Z’s perceptions of cheating in relation to academic integrity, more specifically plagiarism. Utilizing a phenomenological design the researcher identified three key themes, which included social media assistance, helping not cheating, and Google as a learning tool. From these findings, it can be inferred that with the advent of social media and the accessibility of technology, our newest generation enrolled in middle and high school have a relaxed attitude toward academic integrity. The issues that arise from this study provide teachers, administrators and parents reason to pause and question the appropriate use of technology in our connected 21st Century classrooms.

. This research is motivated by the lack of practical learning media in the discussion of projections and pieces in the learning process of technical drawing courses. Referring to the discussion, the researcher made a module "Teaching Drawing Technique Module Main Subjects of Projection and Pieces Equipped with Information Technology Lego Viewer Media Assistance" which later will be a support in the learning process so as to help students individually achieve learning goals in a learning process. Learning media that will be applied in engineering drawing courses, will later be developed using the 4-D development model (four D models) which consists of 4 stages, namely: (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Development , and (4) Disseminate. The defining stage includes the initial analysis, student analysis, concept analysis, task analysis, and specification of learning objectives. The design phase consists of the preparation of tests, media selection, format selection, and initial design (initial design). At the development stage it consists of module validation by expert lecturers, student response questionnaires, and   about the pretest posttest for students. Whereas the deployment is not carried out due to the limited time of the study. The results showed (1) the module products developed were very feasible to use (2) students showed a positive response to the module developed (3) student learning outcomes improved with good categories.
