Purpose Organisational dependence on virtual project teams (VPTs) is growing dramatically due to the substantial benefits they offer, such as efficiently achieving objectives and improving organisational performance. One of the major issues that influence the effectiveness of VPTs is trust building. This study aims to determine the key factors of trust in VPTs and design a model by identifying the interrelationships among the trust factors. Design/methodology/approach Focus group discussion was used to gather data on factors affecting trust in VPTs and their interrelationships. Interpretive structural modelling (ISM) was used to establish the relationship among the factors. Cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to classification analysis was conducted to identify the driving power and the dependence power towards effective VPTs in the construction sector. Findings The finding revealed that “characteristics of team members” (such as ability, integrity, benevolence, competence, reliability and professionalism) is the most significant factor for building trust in virtual team members. Some factors were further identified as having high driving power, while others were defined as having high dependence variables. Practical implications The findings will assist construction managers and practitioners dealing with VPTs identify the factors influencing trust among team members. Taking cognisance of the factors that influence trust will enable them to design more effective virtual team arrangements. Originality/value As the first research of its kind using ISM technique, the study offers insights into interrelationships between trust factors in the construction VPTs. It provides guides for construction managers on the effective management of trustworthy VPTs.

In recent decades, a number of studies have appeared, mainly in the Western European police literature, which have examined the role of the police in society, the social utility of their operations and the social trust factors achieved throug the effectiveness of their procedures. These studies have revealed a number of factors which, although indirect, can be measured and understood. Nevertheless, they have hitherto been treated as abstract concepts in scientific approaches. These include the legality, legitimacy and fairness of police actions and procedures. In this study, I will show that the police can have a significant impact on social capital if they focus on these factors. In particular, it can improve that by focusing on aspects of procedural justice in measuring organizational effectiveness. However, the malleability of trust is questionable in a society where the overall level of trust is already low.

Enterprises need to trust that data they share with other enterprises is not exploited maliciously and cause harm. We describe the development and evaluation of a decision support tool for assessing trust in a partner enterprise. The tool is composed of ten statements spanning four well-established organizational trust factors: ability, integrity, benevolence, and vulnerability. Users rate the statements about a partner enterprise and then rate their trust in the partner enterprise. The tool focuses users on these trust factors and mentally prepares them to make the trust rating. As a first evaluation of the tool, participants read 25 statements each about enterprises in three fictional countries and rated their trust without the tool, using only their intuitions. Then they rated three more enterprises while using the tool. The tool led to trust ratings that were significantly closer to the constructed, expected ratings, and participants rated the tool as useful.

Trust-aware routing is the significant direction for designing the secure routing protocol in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). However, the trust-aware routing mechanism is implemented to evaluate the trustworthiness of the neighboring nodes based on the set of trust factors. Various trust-aware routing protocols are developed to route the data with minimum delay, but detecting the route with good quality poses a challenging issue in the research community. Therefore, an effective method named Sunflower Sine Cosine (SFSC)-based stacked autoencoder is designed to perform Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal classification using trust-aware routing in WSN. Moreover, the proposed SFSC algorithm incorporates Sunflower Optimization (SFO) and Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) that reveals an optimal solution, which is the optimal route used to transmit the EEG signal. Initially, the trust factors are computed from the nodes simulated in the network environment, and thereby, the trust-based routing is performed to achieve EEG signal classification. The proposed SFSC-based stacked autoencoder attained better performance by selecting the optimal path based on the fitness parameters, like energy, trust, and distance. The performance of the proposed approach is analyzed using the metrics, such as sensitivity, accuracy, and specificity. The proposed approach acquires 94.708%, 94.431%, and 95.780% sensitivity, accuracy, and specificity, respectively, with 150 nodes.

Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it is found that the Trust Factor is the main basis of a sharia financial institution and this can be seen from the data that the level of trust of members of the BMT / Islamic Islamic Cooperative Abdurrab is very high in this financial institution. BMT Members Applying for financing / debt / borrowing is not for the lifestyle of BMT Syariah members, where the purpose of BMTIA members to borrow / borrow is none other than to meet the needs needed for daily needs. Factor needs that arise from BMT members, namely the need to feel safer, according to sharia, halal and reassuring, this is the reason why people prefer to join sharia financial institutions / BMTs and for additional business capital needs. Based on the results of multiple linear regression, previously the data were tested for validity, reliability and normality test in information processing that the magnitude of the influence of the need factor and the trust factor on BMT. The research was carried out at BMT Islam Abdurrab, to members of the BMT. The method used in this research is quantitative

This paper evaluates the performance of a newly proposed B2C e-commerce model based on trust factors and requirements in the context of Saudi Arabia. Two categories of trust factors, namely, governmental and nongovernmental types, are identified to create the model for determining the feasibility of an efficient online business strategy in the Kingdom. Data are collected over a duration of 10 weeks based on the designed questionnaire, carefully analyzed, and interpreted. The standpoint of the end user is analyzed to determine the influence of the proposed trust requirements and factors on B2C e-commerce in Saudi Arabia. The reliability of the questionnaires for each requirement with their factors is quantitatively analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha. The questionnaire consists of three parts, namely, demographic component, questions related to the identified requirements, and additional notes as an open question. Questions are designed as per the requirements and the factors of trust models to demonstrate their possible relationship. Furthermore, the questionnaires’ content validity is judged by expert lecturers with relevant specialization before distributing them, which are well organized together with easy understandability. They are randomly distributed among 222 academic and administrative staff (female and male) in addition to university students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information System in Saudi Arabia. This random selection performed on total 222 responders ensures the statistical accuracy of the sampling. Adaptable government approaches, enactment, rules, insurance of buyer rights, and banking network situation with less web expenses are demonstrated to be significant to e-commerce expansion in the Kingdom. Implementation of the proposed model is believed to augment consumer self-confidence and reliance together with e-commerce growth in Saudi Arabia.

The rapid growth of Social Networking Sites (SNSs) as business platforms for individual or small sellers recognised trust as the main important role in determining the successful execution of their business operation.Current trust modelfocused in business sellers by considering website as one of the trust factors.  However, these model are not applicable for SNSs environment. Based on the identified factors affecting trust in SNSs environment, this paper proposeda fuzzy-based trust model to evaluate customers‘ trust based on their perception and experiences.The evaluation model was then tested to validate its efficiency in evaluating trust level.
