Cigarette smoke is the leading cause of several respiratory diseases because it contains high free radical compounds. These free radical compounds can be neutralized with antioxidants obtained from natural ingredients such as roselle. Roselle contains various bioactive compounds and consumes in the form of infusion. Mixing roselle with various herbs as wedang uwuh can increase the antioxidant content. Wedang uwuh is a beverage consisting of various combinations of herbs such as sappan wood, cloves, and cinnamon. This study aims to analyze levels of MDA and SOD in rats exposed to cigarette smoke and given wedang uwuh. This research was conducted on 30 white male Wistar rats that divided into six groups- P0 (normal control), P1 (roselle-based wedang uwuh), P2 (commercial wedang uwuh), P3 (smoke control), P4 (smoke + roselle-based wedang uwuh), P5 (smoke + commercial wedang uwuh). The dose of wedang uwuh is 2.7 ml/kg BW, and the dose of exposure to cigarette smoke is one cigarette for 5 minutes for 30 days. The differences between each group were analyzed using the one way ANOVA test and HSD advanced test. Statistical results showed that giving roselle-based wedang uwuh (P4) significantly reduced MDA levels and increased SOD than the smoke control group (P3). Roselle-based wedang uwuh reduce the MDA levels and increase SOD better than commercial wedang uwuh.

Fire is the most deadly risk during tunnel operation. Early rapid response and a reasonable smoke control plan are very important to evaluate tunnel fire performance. In order to study the relevant time factors for smoke management in a highway tunnel, firstly, the logical sequence and time of the fire alarm system (FAS) startup are investigated and analyzed. Then, according to the one-dimensional fluid mechanics model, the time rule of adjusting the airflow field in the tunnel from the normal operation stage to the emergency ventilation state is analyzed theoretically. Finally, the abovementioned theoretical formulas are verified through the employment of model experiments. The analysis shows that the time that passes from the start of the fire to when the exhaust fan is activated is close to 3 minutes. The time required to form a stable critical wind speed, however, is close to 7 minutes, which is longer than the 5 minutes it takes for the fire to reach its maximum temperature. Due to inertia, it takes about 0.5 to 2 minutes for the air velocity in tunnels of different lengths to drop from the traffic piston wind speed to the critical wind speed. If reverse smoke extraction is required, however, the duration is between 3 and 8 minutes. The conclusion is of guiding significance for the preparation of the emergency linkage control scheme for tunnels, as well as for the setting of initial boundary conditions for CFD fire simulations.

High temperature smoke caused by fire is a major cause of casualties. In order to ensure the safety of personnel, it is very important to control the spread of smoke and enable personnel to quickly withdraw from the fire scene. While traditional hard isolation, such as fire doors, may hinder the safe evacuation of people, the use of an air curtain as a flexible isolation has received more and more attention from researchers. In this paper, the influence of jet direction of compound air curtain on the smoke control effect was studied, and six working conditions were designed. The temperature and smoke isolation of the compound air curtain were numerically simulated by using ANSYS FLUENT software. The parameters such as temperature, velocity pressure and velocity streamline were analyzed, and the smoke control effects of six different jet directions were discussed. The simulation results were verified by Pyrosim fire simulation software simulation software. The results show that the direction of jet flow has a significant influence on the smoke control effect, and the fire smoke control effect under working conditions 4 and 5 is better. The working condition 5 (both air curtain A and air curtain B have outward jet direction) has the best smoke prevention effect, which is suitable for a situation that is close to the fire source. Working condition 4 (outward direction of air curtain A and inward direction of air curtain B) has the second-best effect of smoke prevention, which is suitable for situations far from the fire source.

Chinese and Hungarian architectural ceramics manufacturing technology is of the same origin, and both have certain influence in the world. In particular, Zsolnay, a Hungarian architectural ceramics brand, has made breakthroughs and innovations in the production process of products in the inheritance of more than 100 years, forming a unique architectural ceramics manufacturing technology. It can effectively reduce the concentration of flue gas particulate matter and sulfur dioxide produced in production. The historical experience of the development of building ceramic manufacturing technology in China and Hungary is of enlightenment to the current industrial smoke control.

Objectives: Almost all smokers started smoking cigarettes before the age of 18 then became addicted to tobacco. Therefore, tobacco prevention education must be carried out throughout high school and university. Shunde Polytechnic integrates tobacco control health education into the window design curriculum, which allows students to complete and display tobacco control window design works on campus to cause discussion, thus achieving the promotion of tobacco control publicity and education. Based on the competition standards of the Visual Merchandising project of World Skills Competition, the original teaching methods were reformed in this research and the nine standards of the competition were divided into four modules for teaching. The required knowledge, specific skill requirements, and workflow were well integrated into the teaching of smoke control window design tasks to foster students’ abilities to display innovative design, window production, installation and operation, and teamwork. And the teaching results were verified according to World Skills Competition scoring methods and standards. The results showed that with the import of the Visual Merchandising project competition standard of World Skills Competition into the original window design course, on the one hand, the effects of students’ works and their self-satisfaction with their works have shown a significant improvement. On the other hand, although this kind of teaching method does not relieve the students’ mental, physical, time, and frustration pressure, it has stimulated and cultivated students’ good professional qualities. However, this research focuses on the assessment of professional skills and professionalism. Therefore, future research will more focus on evaluating the effectiveness of window design courses under the new teaching model in preventing youngsters from smoking or encouraging students to quit smoking, popularizing correct knowledge about the health hazards of tobacco, and establishing positive life beliefs.
