Abstract The paper provides a systems analysis of the shopping mall’s social space functioning with the “black box” approach. According to this model, the main purpose of social space is to meet all customers' needs. In addition, external architectural and non-architectural factors are determined, and the means of influence are identified: architectural organization means. Thus, based on previous research, we built a detailed model of the "black box" of the social space system. In which, to meet all the needs of customers, and by the levels of design psychology needs, we formed five principles of building a shopping mall’s social space: the principle of ergonomics, the principle of organicity, the principle of social openness, the principle of harmony, and the principle of flexibility and polyfunctionality. The research results can be used in the design of new and reconstruction of existing malls and further research on this topic.

Kata Kunci: gambar ilustrasi, proses kreasi, psikologi desain, suasana batin AbstractIn design, expression in the form of visual works or symbols was influenced by inner mood. This visual work can be manifested into an illustration image creation. The study of psychological design with a focus on the inner atmosphere as a support for the creation of this illustration image has two objectives, namely: (1) to describe and explain the inner atmosphere that supports the process of creating illustration images; and (2) describe and explain the form of illustration image creation on the influence of inner mood. In this research, the descriptive-qualitative method was used with a case study strategy. The study took place in the "Introduction to Art and Design" course in the Visual Communication Design Department, Sebelas Maret University. Sampling uses purposive techniques and data collection through documentation techniques, in-depth interviews, and instruments. The validity of the data used theoretical triangulation, and the analysis used content analysis techniques. The result of this research is (1) a mental atmosphere that supports the process of creating illustration images for students of the Visual Communication Design department, which includes an inner mood of confusion; sadness/depression/fear; and optimism. (2) the form of illustration image creation on the influence of the students' inner atmosphere is represented in the form of shapes, lines, colors, sizes, textures, spaces, and directions. However, what is dominant is the shape, color, and texture. Keywords: creation process, design psychology, illustration, inner mood

Through the analysis of design psychology, this paper first sorts out the development context of design psychology, and then elaborates the definition of design psychology. Moreover, this paper combines the actual demands of music psychology to construct a model, applies the fuzzy model to this model, and systematically studies the basic concepts of design psychology. Simultaneously, this paper combines its concept with examples of interface interaction design of mobile Internet product to study and observe the application of design psychology in this field. In addition, this paper summarizes a set of scientific and reasonable specific methods for interface interaction design, and then uses this method to guide the practice of system model interaction design, constructs the model structure based on demand analysis, and optimizes the system structure. Finally, this paper designs experiments to verify the performance of the model. The research results show that the model constructed in this paper has certain practical effects.

At present, with the rapid development of science and technology network and the continuous update of hardware facilities, the emergence of new interactive media, paper teaching materials have been gradually replaced by mobile online courses. In the design process of building online course products, we should not only pay attention to the text content of teaching, but also give students and teachers a good use experience through reasonable design based on the psychological factors of users, so as to meet the user's sensory experience. This paper will start from the basis of design psychology, analyze the content of product design psychology, and explore the interface design, function realization and sensory experience of online course education software. The research results of this paper are of great significance to online course design.

With the improvement in laws and regulations related to children's passenger car safety and full implementation of the two-child policy in China, more and more people are going to be paying attention to child safety seats. Therefore, there will be a huge market for child safety seats of China in the future. The child safety seats withe the single function of ensuring security can no longer meet the needs of parents and children, the multi-function complex product is becoming the development mainstream gradually. And they even began to pursue appearance molding of products. Most child safety seats on the market have only one function, which can be used in specific scenarios-cars, and after purchase, low frequency of use leads to increased cost. A multi-functional child safety seat is needed to meet the more advanced and increasingly diverse needs of users on this account. This research not only takes the needs of users in different scenarios as the entry point for the design, takes the multi-function of child safety seats as the subject, and combines the behavior and psychology of the user population of relevant disciplines such as ergonomics and design psychology, but also analyzes the potential and obvious needs of the user population for child safety seats, and optimizes the existing child safety seats on the market from the aspects of child safety seat functions and appearance, so as to further meet the modern higher level of demand for child safety seats.

Innovation in rehabilitation represents creative design which involve adaptive tool (AT) for patients in the occupational therapy department. Earlier, an online survey on innovative activities among OT has been conducted on thirty Malaysian occupational therapists. Findings indicate that 80% of the occupational therapists innovate new tools during rehabilitation. The purpose of this study is to identify design attributes of AT as issues highlighting the low rate of AT usage based on several factors; non-compliance, uncomfortable design, insufficient instruction and training, and also due to user’s personality i.e. lack of personal acceptance and confidence in using AT. A scoping review of 20 relevant literatures related to the usage, effectiveness and barriers of AT are drawn widely from the rehabilitation journal in the period between 1968 – 2018, and from design psychology journals to support the findings. A summary of each themes that has been highlighted from this review are AT prescribe factors, AT equipment factors and AT education factors. This review suggests that future research for creative activities in rehabilitation shall be provided with design consideration in order to bring better AT creation. The implications of these findings for the effects of innovation are discussed.

AbstractThe aim of the paper is to foster a discussion in the engineering design community about its understanding of the innovation phenomena and the unique contribution that comes from engineering design. The paper reports on the dialouge originating from a series of workshops with participants from different backgrounds in engineering design, systems engineering, industrial design psychology and business.Definitions of innovation are revisited as used in business, management and engineering design contexts. The role of innovation is then discussed related to product development from (i) the management perspective, (ii) a systems architecture perspective and (iii) in relation to sustainable development as one driver of innovation. It is argued that engineering design has a central role in how to realise the novelty aspect of innovation and often plays a critical role in maturing these into the valuable products, and there is a need to articulate the role of engineering design in innovation to better resonate with the business and management research.
