The author of the article describes a trip to Spain made by Józef Czapski in 1930. This outstanding painter and essayist, witness to the Katyń massacre, co-creator of the Parisian magazine "Kultura" [Culture] and Polish intellectual life in exile, at the time of visiting Madrid and its nearby areas for nearly two months was still a young artist, looking for the painting poetics closest to his soul. The visits to the Prado brought him two great discoveries: the works of El Greco and Goya. For Czapski, El Greco is a captivating example of religious painting and simultaneously – fidelity to the vision, the way of seeing the world. Goya fascinated Czapski with the thematic and stylistic range of his art – from “official” court portraits to dramatic records of nearly surreal visions, reflecting the artist’s fundamental belief in human depravity. The trip to Spain also had another meaning for Czapski – it was in a way a journey in the footsteps of St. Teresa of Avila, broadly: a reflection on the role of mystical experience in the spiritual life of man. From these two perspectives: artistic and religious, the encounter with the Spanish culture appears to be one of the more important and fateful episodes in the biography of Józef Czapski.

This article aims to analyze the resocialization of prisoners through literary production. The population crisis plaguing the Brazilian penitentiary system is a reality. One of the main factors contributing to the high occupancy rate of prisons is the high rate of recidivism. This situation denotes the failure of current public policies for the rehabilitation of inmates, who do not satisfactorily fulfill their mission. In this context, it is worth highlighting the lack of incentives on the part of our legislation, and public authorities, for literary production by those who are confined to prison. The intellectual activity promoted by the production of literary works requires, in its most varied nuances, a level of knowledge and awareness on the part of the author, which, by itself, requires greater engagement on the part of the one who sets out to express his thoughts. Because it requires more commitment, it is natural that these people’s propensity for intellectual life becomes more natural. Precisely for this reason, the hypothesis raised in this work is that the incentive to literary production, in Brazilian prisons, would help in the re-socialization of prisoners. In the search for answers to the formulated hypothesis, bibliographic research was adopted as a research method. The results found confirmed the raised hypothesis, demonstrating that the correct incentive to literary production could be an agent of transformation in prison, promoting the adequate resocialization of prisoners through intellectual production.

The dialogue expresses the simultaneous coexistence of the past and the present, the preservation of continuity between them. The Arab-Muslim civilization, in its heyday, embodied the ideal of dialogue between East and West. The purpose of this study is to study the mechanisms of intercultural dialogue of the Eastern Renaissance era, analyze them for their application in the conditions of the modern globalized world. Islam played a key role in the formation and development of the Arab-Muslim civilization. Religion, along with philosophy and science, played the role of a connecting link in the spiritual and intellectual life of medieval Muslim society. Dialogue is possible when, in the collision of different cultural traditions, some new unifying knowledge is synthesized. The development of their own spiritual and religious movements as Sufism among the peoples of Central Asia conquered by the Arabs indicates that the Arab-Muslim culture was not limited to Islam. The peoples of the Arab Caliphate preserved and developed their distinctive cultural and religious traditions.

The article deals with a problem of correlation between the evolution of the main ideas pattern, philosophical foundations of the intellectual life of age and historical state-law systems. The method is a cyclic conception of history, according to which on every round of historical processes, the framework of state-law system development was formed by the main ideas presumption about space, time, the multiplicity of the world and so on. According to it, authors argue that the existence of some milestones in the history of ideas gives us an opportunity to highlight some phases of the state-law system evolution, such as temple-state with its mythological space and cyclic time; polis state, which emerged from rationalization and understanding the world is multiple; medieval theological state with its dualism and teleological history conception; modern state based on separation of abstract conceptions such as nation and their embodiment.
