One of the crucial projects underway in Egypt is the lining of watercourses to withstand the outflow of water through their beds and flanks. Various materials have been used in this project, including limestone, sandstone, basalt, and dolomite, along with other building materials. This study focused on the evaluation of rock characteristics to determine their suitability for the construction of a canal lining. All rock characteristics should be classified in terms of technical and economic concerns related to mining rock specifications, such as mechanical and physical properties, and evaluated according to their weights and ratings. As a rule of decision making, management stakeholders select the rock types. The primary purpose of canal linings is to reduce water loss due to seepage. Methodologically, we adopted the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), and derived an improved TOPSIS method based on experimental testing. This study attempted the first application of TOPSIS to canal linings and relevant construction materials. The analysis shows that limestone L1 is the best rock-building material for canal linings in Upper Egypt. Limestone L1 has the shortest geometric distance from the positive ideal solution and the longest geometric distance from the negative ideal solution. The results provide decision makers with strategic indicators to select among different rock types based on the total points assigned to all rock specifications.

In this study, considering the traditional geometric operation laws and Pythagorean fuzzy information, we propose a variety of new distance measures of Pythagorean fuzzy sets such as generalized Pythagorean fuzzy geometric distance (GPFGD) measures and generalized Pythagorean fuzzy weighted geometric distance (GPFWGD) measures. Besides, some special issues including Hamming distance, Euclidean distance, and Hausdorff distance of these raised geometric distance measures are investigated. To testify the valid of these new presented distance measures, we build a decision-making model illustrated by a mathematical calculation example to evaluate the sustainable development of new urbanization from the perspective of urban agglomeration using Pythagorean fuzzy information.

This paper introduces a geometric generalization of signed distance fields for plane curves. We propose to store simplified geometric proxies to the curve at every sample. These proxies are constructed based on the differential geometric quantities of the represented curve and are used for queries such as closest point and distance calculations. We investigate the theoretical approximation order of these constructs and provide empirical comparisons between geometric and algebraic distance fields of higher order. We apply our results to font representation and rendering.

A WSN consists of a setup of sensor nodes/motes which perceives the environment under monitoring, and transfer this information through wireless links to the Base Station (BS) or sink. The sensor nodes can be heterogeneous or homogeneous and can be mobile or stationary. The data gathered is forwarded through single/multiple hops to the BS/sink. In this paper, propose improvements to LEACH routing protocol to reduce energy consumption and extend network life. LEACH Distance Energy (LEACH-DE) not only selects the cluster head node by considering that the remaining energy of the node is greater than the average remaining energy level of the nodes in the network, but also selects the cluster head node parameters based on the geometric distance between the candidate node and the BS. The simulation results show that the algorithm proposed in this work is superior to LEACH and LEACH-C (Centralized) in terms of energy saving and extending the lifetime of wireless sensor networks.

There is particular interest in on-line social networks (OSNs) and capturing their properties. The memoryless geometric protean (MGEO-P) model provably simulated many OSN properties. We investigated dominating sets in OSNs and their models. The domination numbers were computed using two algorithms, DS-DC and DS-RAI, for MGEO-P samples and Facebook data, known as the Facebook 100 graphs. We establish sub-linear bounds on the domination numbers for the Facebook 100 graphs, and show that these bounds correlate well with bounds in graphs simulated by MGEO-P. A new model is introduced known as the Distance MGEO-P (DMGEO-P) model. This model incorporates geometric distance to inuence the probability that two nodes are adjacent. Domination number upper bounds were found to be well-correlated with the Facebook 100 graph.
