The aim of this study is to explore the attitudes of nurse students in Turkey, towards ageing and elderliness and to determine differences in terms of year of study. The study uses a comparative design with data collected from February to March 2020. A random sample of 306 nursing students was selected. A demographic data form and the Attitudes toward Ageing and Elderliness Scale (ATAES) were used to collect data. Of the students, 47.7% reported that they cared for older adults in their clinical practice and 53.6% confirmed that they had successfully completed the theoretical lessons on elderly care. Theoretical education (Hedge’s g = 0.23) and clinical practice (Hedge’s g = 0.34) on elderly care have minimal effects on the attitudes toward ageing and elderliness. Theoretical education and clinical practice as conducted currently in a university in Turkey, failed to improve attitudes toward ageing and elderliness. Background: Since the covid-19 pandemic occurred at the end of 2019, the education process which is usually carried out face-to-face must be done through online learning. Due to this pandemic condition, it is still difficult for Nurse Profession level students to adapt. This study was determined the level of learning motivation during online learning at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Method: This descriptive analytical study was analyzed by a IBM SPSS 26 version for windows. The number of respondents as many as 78 students of ners 22 class and ners 23 class was recruited by total sampling from October 2020 - January 18, 2021. The level of motivation data was identified by the Watsin questionnaire using whatsapp, zoom and google meet online platforms. Results: The 19 respondents or about 25% of participants was less than and equal to 19 years old, 22 peoples or about 28% of student nurses aged 20 years, 19 peoples or about 24% of nursing students aged 21 years, and the remaining 18 peoples or about 23% of student aged 22 years and over. The descriptive analysis showed that the average level of motivation of Nurse students during online learning was 63,14. Conclusion: the level of motivation of Nursing students during online learning in hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic was categorized in sufficient level. The further strengthens was the needs of variety online learning model towards nursing professional level during pandemic of COVID 19.

During the training process, nurse students acquire knowledge, skills and competencies to work with different groups of patients. Working with elderly people has its difficulties and specificities. The acquisition of practical skills by students for planning and documenting individual health care for the elderly people is a process in which teachers and mentors have a leading role. Objectives: To identify the factors which make it difficult for nurse students to work with elderly people. Methods: The study involved 52 3rd year nurse students – from the Faculty of Medicine of Trakia University in Bulgaria. A questionnaire was used, including open-ended and closed-ended questions, allowing more than one answer. The data was processed mathematically and graphically. Results: The main difficulties for students in working with the elderly people are as follows: the process of communication (92.16%), difficult perception of new information (80.64%) and memory impairment in the elderly patient (61.44%); The main difficulties related to the organization of activity - insufficient experience in working with geriatric patients (92.16%); insufficient time for communication with patients (94.08%); lack of comfort in the patient's home (57.60%); a "Diary for tracking and self-monitoring of the condition" of an elderly person - it is very useful for 90.24% of students so that they can monitor the condition of the elderly person; It was found that 65.28% of students do not want to work with elderly people, as 46.09% of them indicate the motive for this as mental strain. Conclusion: The teacher and the mentor are leading figures in preparing students to work with elderly people. The practical preparation for planning and documenting individual health care for elderly people is very important in the training process of nurse students.

Abstract Background:The nursing practicum (clinical practice) is an essential but often highly stressful aspect of the nursing degree. A review of the published literature reveals a strong focus on the stressors that originate within the practicum environment, rather than the student’s life outside the university and practice setting. This article reports on an Australian study, completed before the COVID-19 pandemic, of the university experiences of undergraduate women nurse students with family responsibilities. The findings reveal the importance of factors outside the university on the women students’ practicum experience and their ability to engage and achieve.Methods:The study was qualitative, guided by Gadamer’s hermeneutic philosophy. Twenty-nine women students with family responsibilities (partners and children) were interviewed at two stages of their degree journey. Over 50 hours of data were thematically analysed.Findings:The themes ‘family pressure’ and ‘practicum poverty’ describe the impact of domestic work, family finances and practicum organisation on student stress, wellbeing, achievement, thoughts of attrition, and family tension. These findings are particularly pertinent to Australia and other developed nations where the nurse student demographic continues to age. An interpretation of these findings against the recent impact of COVID-19 on nurse education and women’s life choices reveals the likelihood that these difficulties have intensified for women students with family responsibilities since the pandemic began.Conclusions and Recommendations:Many developed nations, including Australia, are increasingly reliant on older women nurse students to maintain the future graduate nursing workforce. This change in nurse student demographic to the mature-age student requires a revision of the organisation of the nursing practicum. Recommendations to nurse education to improve practicum accessibility for women students who have family responsibilities include the application of a flexible and collaborative approach to practicum organisation and communication. Wider recommendations to Government include a revision of the way the nursing student is financially supported during the practicum. Further research that explores the practicum experience for women nurse students during and following the COVID-19 pandemic is also recommended.

Purpose: The training process in the specialty of Nurse from the regulated occupations in the Republic of Bulgaria is in accordance with both national and European normative documents. The mission of the program Nurse for a bachelor degree is to provide highly-qualified professionals for giving effective health care in terms of a changing social, economic and health environment. Material and methods: study and analysis of legal documents and modeling (model presentation). Results: The philosophy of learning provides the opportunity to form personal qualities, communication skills, teamwork skills, competencies, as well as developing skills and adaptability and mobility in terms of free movement of professionals in the European Union. This paper presents an author's model of protocol for assessing practical skills and competencies as well as the benefits of applying it. Conclusions: The evaluation of the results of the training process is emphasized as a particular element of the lecturer's work.

Context: Nursing roles today constitute a vast and complex system. Nurse interns need to know their future roles to facilitate and prepare them socially to work professionally and decrease the reality shock when going outside to the labor market. Aim: This study aimed to assess the perception of role transition among nurse interns. Methods: The study was conducted in four hospitals affiliated to Ain Shams University where nurse interns have their training, namely Ain-Shams University Hospital (5 units), El-Demerdash Hospital (2 units), Pediatrics Hospital (3 units), and Cardiovascular surgery hospital. A convenient sample of all available nurse interns who started their internship in 2018 and their total number were100. Data collections included a role perception questionnaire to assess the perception of role and role transition knowledge questionnaire to assess role transition knowledge among nurse interns. Results: The present study revealed that most of the interns had low total roles perception, among 51% of the studied interns, and low total knowledge level regarding role transition among 70% of the studied interns. Conclusion:   The study concludes a low total level of role perception among more than half of the studied nurse interns and a low total knowledge level of role transition among nearly three quarters. A statistically significant relationship was revealed between nurse interns' total transition knowledge score and their age, gender, and training program attendance. The study recommended conducting a training program and continuing education for the nurse interns to promote their perceptions about their role and role transition. Further studies for studying the relationship between role transition process and stress among nurse students and assessing the clinical learning needs of nurse interns periodically are recommended. Besides, develop a training program for them to the challenges facing in clinical practice.

The aim of the present research was to analyze the autonomic stress response of nursing students in a nursing Objective Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE). We analyzed, in 41 s-year nursing degree students (20.1 ± 2.3 years), modifications in heart rate variability (HRV) to monitor the autonomic stress response before, during and after the 18 different scenarios of a complete OSCE. Heart rate mean response of nurse students was consistent with an anticipatory anxiety response at the beginning of the OSCE, showing a sympathetic nervous system activation, but HRV parameters show contradictory results. The most stressful OSCE station was the CPR maneuver, the stress response varying according to the station’s demands.
