Abstract The paper proposes a method and its realization for stabilizing the characteristics of a multichannel position-sensitive spectrometer. The device uses a new design of the semiconductor strip detector, which allows a simultaneous injection of stable in time electric charges on all strips. This solution enables the electronics to track changes in the conversion characteristics of all electronic channels including detectors strips, and correct them during the spectrometer operation. In addition, the proposed detector design makes it possible to control the signal propagation along the strips, thus providing an on-line check of the integrity of strips metallization and the quality of their connection with the readout electronics.

The article deals with theoretical and practical issues of improving the efficiency of operation of high-water cut oil wells by developing and applying double-acting pumping systems based on electric submersible pumps. This combination is providing down-hole gravitational separation of oil and produced water, lifting low-water-cut oil to the surface with simultaneous injection of most of the separated water into the absorbing formation without lifting to the surface. Moreover, it is providing low-cost regulation of the ratio of the volumes of the lifted product and the injected water, as well as monitoring the quality of the injected water with the required frequency.

Oxide films were formed on A508-3 steel in simulated pressurized water reactor (PWR) primary water at the temperature of 561 ± 1 K for 168 h with zinc and/or aluminum injection. Corrosion behaviors of oxide films were analyzed by electrochemical polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, Mott-Schottky plots, photocurrent measurement, scanning electronic microscopy, and x-ray diffraction. The results showed that zinc and aluminum simultaneous injection technology decreased the corrosion current density, increased the impedance value, made the oxide film more compact, and affected the semiconductor properties of the oxide film. The increase in zinc concentration improved the corrosion resistance to some extent. ZnAl2O4 phase, with extremely low solubility and high stability, had been detected in the oxide film; this substance changed the composition of the oxide film and affected the corrosion behavior of A508-3 steel.

Surfactant–polymer (SP) flooding has significant potential to enhance oil recovery after water flooding in mature reservoirs. However, the economic benefit of the SP flooding process is unsatisfactory under low oil prices. Thus, it is necessary to reduce the chemical costs and improve SP flooding efficiency to make SP flooding more profitable. Our goal was to maximize the incremental oil recovery of the SP flooding process after water flooding by using the equal chemical consumption cost to ensure the economic viability of the SP flooding process. Thus, a systematic study was carried out to investigate the SP flooding process under different injection strategies by conducting parallel sand pack flooding experiments to optimize the SP flooding design. Then, the comparison of the remaining oil distribution after water flooding and SP flooding under different injection strategies was studied. The results demonstrate that the EOR efficiency of the SP flooding process under the alternating injection of polymer and surfactant–polymer (PASP) is higher than that of conventional simultaneous injection of surfactant and polymer. Moreover, as the alternating cycle increases, the incremental oil recovery increases. Based on the analysis of fractional flow, incremental oil recovery, and remaining oil distribution when compared with the conventional simultaneous injection of surfactant and polymer, the alternating injection of polymer and surfactant–polymer (PASP) showed better sweep efficiency improvement and recovered more remaining oil trapped in the low permeability zone. Thus, these findings could provide insights into designing the SP flooding process under low oil prices.
