AbstractThis study proposes a way of reconsidering how to explain kimchi, which is quite diverse even though it is often referred to as if it expresses a single, universal dish, to non-Koreans, particularly given the worldwide rise in its popularity. Koreans are accustomed to the general process of explaining kimchi in terms of the different types of vegetables that are the main ingredients. However, this process makes it difficult for Westerners who are new to kimchi to fully understand the comprehensive meaning and value of the dish. For this reason, it is time to change the process of explaining kimchi for Westerners who are accustomed to food culture using sauces. We believe that our study makes a significant contribution to the literature and will be of interest to the readership of the Journal of Ethnic Foods journal because it reviews and draws from 15 kimchi recipes posted by the world-famous culinary YouTuber Maangchi and proposes that discussing and classifying the composition and structure of ingredients and the basic formula as the best way of introducing non-Koreans to the variety of this quintessentially Korean dish and encouraging them to create their own varieties of kimchi upon a simple foundation of ingredients. People worldwide will be able to evolve to the stage where they can recognize and reconstruct the basic formula in which various derived kimchi types are made by combining kimchi yangnyeom and vegetables.

This essay argues that Lt. Governor John Fetterman (D-PA), in running for the open US Senate seat in Pennsylvania, is attempting to appeal to disaffected Trump voters, showing what the “forgotten men and women” of Pennsylvania might stand to gain by embracing his progressive, Democratic populist appeal. This study examines Fetterman’s announcement advertisement, “Launch,” illustrating how he figuratively and literally enacts Burkean “consubstantiality,” as the candidate not only speaks about and on behalf of the forgotten, but he also appears on camera with the history of Braddock tattooed on his body. Utilizing Burkean theory, we contend that Fetterman’s two-and-a-half-minute video follows the basic formula for Burke’s guilt-redemption cycle. In the wake of the failed insurrection, “Launch” offered the promise of rhetorical redemption through what Burke labeled victimage in the form of factional scapegoating. Additionally, midway through the video, the “Agent” and the “Scene” switch roles, in a unique symbolic move. The analysis concludes that, from Burke’s perspective of purification-redemption, Fetterman uses visuals, text, and context to appeal to an important audience for his candidacy.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the reproduction number [Formula: see text] has become a popular epidemiological metric used to communicate the state of the epidemic. At its most basic, [Formula: see text] is defined as the average number of secondary infections caused by one primary infected individual. [Formula: see text] seems convenient, because the epidemic is expanding if [Formula: see text] and contracting if [Formula: see text]. The magnitude of [Formula: see text] indicates by how much transmission needs to be reduced to control the epidemic. Using [Formula: see text] in a naïve way can cause new problems. The reasons for this are threefold: (1) There is not just one definition of [Formula: see text] but many, and the precise definition of [Formula: see text] affects both its estimated value and how it should be interpreted. (2) Even with a particular clearly defined [Formula: see text], there may be different statistical methods used to estimate its value, and the choice of method will affect the estimate. (3) The availability and type of data used to estimate [Formula: see text] vary, and it is not always clear what data should be included in the estimation. In this review, we discuss when [Formula: see text] is useful, when it may be of use but needs to be interpreted with care, and when it may be an inappropriate indicator of the progress of the epidemic. We also argue that careful definition of [Formula: see text], and the data and methods used to estimate it, can make [Formula: see text] a more useful metric for future management of the epidemic.

In recent years, with the urgent need of the country to vigorously promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry and the modernization of the construction industry, it has been proposed to vigorously develop prefabricated buildings and increase the proportion of prefabricated buildings in new buildings. The prefabricated concrete building is a concrete structure with prefabricated components in the factory and processing and connection on the construction site. Because of its fast construction speed and good overall benefits, it is widely promoted. For prefabricated buildings, the key technology is the connection of structural nodes, and most of the component connections use concrete sleeve connections. The quality of the sleeve grouting material is very important. The basic formula of the grouting material leads to different and different mechanical properties. Conditions apply. This article starts with different sleeve grouting patents, summarizes different functions and characteristics, and provides a reference for the next development of sleeve grouting.

A concert is a mass entertainment event held indoors, at concert halls, or outdoors (open-air festivals). These two formats differ greatly from each other. However, the goal of both events remains the same – to allow the audience to enjoy the musical performance. Indoor halls are designed for the best acoustics of sound. They are often circular and let sound waves travel around the inside of the building, like an echo bouncing back and forth. This makes the audience feel like they are surrounded by sound. Such places already have outlined spots for mounting music equipment with the highest efficiency. Thus, thanks to the fact that the building is engineered exactly for the purpose of conserving the sound, concert holders are not obligated with extra calculations and planning. On the other hand, open-air concerts can range from small, acoustic gatherings at municipal parks, to large music festivals that take place over several days and feature a large number of different artists. Such concerts take great amounts of planning to make sure that the stage is visible and, more importantly, audible from the entire seating area. In this paper, we investigate the physics of sound events of both formats and derive a basic formula for calculating the coverage of a sound system.

The advantages of metal silos in comparison with reinforced concrete are given. Types of silos depending on a wall design are considered. The construction of steel spiral-fold silos and the method of forming a cylindrical body are considered. The general design of a spiral-fold silo is illustrated. Features of the folding lock, its geometry and location are described. The specifics of the construction of spiral-fold silo, which affects their stress-strain state, are analyzed. Listed two calculation schemes of silо depending on the complexity of input information for the computer. The standard documents which regulates the design of steel silo tanks on the territory of Ukraine are analyzed. The main loads and influences which are accepted at calculation of silos are listed. The basic formula of check of the general durability of a wall of a silo is resulted, the components of the formula are decrypted. The algorithm for calculating the spiral-folded silage is given.

Motion is understood as a change from one location to another. Therefore, this study focuses on spatial motion consisting of directional, extensional, state and causative motion. This study utilizes data from the Pangkalan Data Korpus Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka database in Malaysia for its study samples. The analysis employs Jackendoff ’s (1997 & 2011) Theory of Conceptual Structure for its framework. The mapping of these arguments comprises three main stages, namely mapping to conceptual structure representation, mapping to conceptual tree diagrams and mapping to thematic roles. The results show that spatial motion is present in the [Event] and [States] functions that carry the basic formula [[[MOTION [x [Event] [Object] [Path] [Place]]]. The findings show that the lexical items balik, berlari, tinggal, terletak, berada, bunuh, paksa, benar and tolong have their own representation of arguments involving constituents such as [Event], [States], [Object] [Path] [Place] [Event] REASON], [NO Causative], [TRUE Causative] and [HELP Causative]. For the mapping stage in the thematic role, the item involved is the role of Actor, Theme, Goal, Source, Agent and Beneficiary (-). Accordingly, this study shows an adequate systematic representation of the conceptual structure, particularly in the spatial motion domain in the Malay language.

This basic formula allows to understand the context of a negotiation. For the case that concerns us, the legal, social and political system that has developed in Colombia in the context of violence, and the conflict lived from middle of last century, has not been precisely a stage that can be framed within a "typical situation" in a "stable society".Although from diverse theories of the analysis, it´s argued that, the conflict and the confrontation are necessary elements to the evolution of any society, for the Colombian case, according to our context, atypical measures must have be taken to face and to develop the cease-fire and the peace agreement, at least at first, with the most representative belligerent force in the country, the FARC EP.In this sense, the present paper makes a review of the juridical nature that constitutes the "final agreement for the termination of the conflict, and the construction of a stable and lasting peace"; As well as the legislative acts resulting from it, and the interpretation that must be made from the Colombian juridical system in respect of those, not only for the implementation of the mentioned peace agreement, but also as a projection to future processes. The Communication Between Actor and Spectator: a Psychoanalytical AbstractThis article addresses how theatrical communication takes place between performers and spectators, seeking the links that are established between them. The author picks up Luisa Josefina Hernández’s vision of a tragic theater from the Aristotelian perspective, a theatre that leads us to unravel the most sublime and the darkest in ourselves. Starting from the confrontation of the basic formula of Erika Fischer-Lichte’s theatrical code and Jacques Lacan’s theories about the unconscious, the author proposes a model of communication in theater that demonstrates the psychic complexity of the phenomenon. Recibido: 15 de enero de 2020Aceptado: 06 de julio de 2020
