Besides providing information to pupils, their parents, teachers, and school founders about the achieved level in mathematics, the pupils’ results in mathematics at international or national testing can also be used for other purposes. In our research, the results of Slovak national testing T9 (success rate of pupils and difficulty of individual thematic areas and test items) seem to us to be a reasonable source for identification of critical areas in school mathematics. Based on the findings of such areas, we target more at these areas in the preparation of future teachers of mathematics. The special group of problems, so-called problems with figures, seems to be one of the critical areas. In the assignment of these problems, a part of the input information is not of a purely textual character, and in the process of solving the solver has to read information about objects appearing in the problem and relations between objects from figures (e. g. scheme, graph, chart, table, picture or map). The paper focuses on success rates of pupils in solving problems of this type and on various roles and functions of figures in problems with figures from the testing T9.

The idea of monitoring the identity of the cylinder capacities of an internal combustion engine under conditions of incomplete information is proposed and a computer system is built on its basis. The signal of the instantaneous rotation speed of the crankshaft of the power unit was used as input information. In the development of the hardware architecture, injectors with piezoelectric actuators, the principle of direct digital control, and the principle of control with feedback on the state of fluctuations of the crankshaft rotation speed were used. The Laplace transform was used as a mathematical apparatus for analyzing the structural diagram of a computer system for programmed control of the processes of supplying fuel and air to the cylinders of the power unit. Mathematical models of the components of the hardware for controlling the processes of supplying the fuel-air mixture were constructed, and as a result of the analysis of the structural diagram of the computer system, the transfer function was obtained. Using the capabilities of the Matlab software environment, the transient and impulse transient characteristics of the system are obtained, the Nyquist hodograph is constructed, and the logarithmic amplitude-frequency characteristics of the hardware are established. It was found that the frequency characteristics of the mathematical model of a computer system have the necessary dynamic characteristics. Using the method of expansion into simple fractions, an expression is obtained for a discrete transfer function, the coefficients of the power polynomials of which are established using the method of determinants and computational capabilities of the Mathcad software environment. On the basis of a discrete transfer function, a scheme for computer modeling of the process of processing the signal of the instantaneous speed of rotation of the crankshaft by hardware is constructed. The output signal was obtained by computer simulation, as a result of the analysis of which the speed of the hardware for processing the input information was established.

The idea of Belknap's four-valued logic is that modern computers should function normally not only with the true values of the input information, but also under the conditions of inconsistency and incompleteness of true failures. Belknap's logic introduces four true values: T (true - true), F (false - false), N (none - nobody, nothing, none), B (both - the two, not only the one but also the other).  For ease of work with these true values, the following designations are introduced: (1, 0, n, b). Belknap's logic can be used to obtain estimates of proximity measures for discrete objects, for which the functions Jaccard and Needhem, Russel and Rao, Sokal and Michener, Hamming, etc. are used. In this case, it becomes possible to assess the proximity, recognition and classification of objects in conditions of uncertainty when the true values are taken from the set (1, 0, n, b). Based on the architecture of the Hamming neural network, neural networks have been developed that allow calculating the distances between objects described using true values (1, 0, n, b). Keywords: four-valued Belknap logic, Belknap computer, proximity assessment, recognition and classification, proximity function, neural network.

The Regional Representative Council of Indonesia Institute of Islamic Dakwah of Manokwari Regency has four departments from Al-Quran Education School which are required to report the attendance and achievements of students each month in their respective departments. This report will be presented to the parents and to the Head of the school for evaluation. Both of these assessments are still carried out manually so it is inefficient because the data will be easily lost or scattered. With these problems, the author did some researches to carry out the Design and Development of Information System for Assessment of Material Achievement and Student Attendance at Al-Quran Education School - Regional Representative Council of Indonesia Institute of Islamic Dakwah in Manokwari Regency. This research was conducted by creating an assessment input information system and responsive web-based data recap, using the Laravel framework, MySQL database and the research method used was the Prototype Method. At the final stage of this research is testing the system with the Black Box Method. The final result of this research is the formation of the Information System for Assessment of Material Achievement and Student Attendance for the Al-Quran Education School - Regional Representative Council of Indonesia Institute of Islamic Dakwah in Manokwari Regency. The test results show that the Prototype Method can be used in building the information system in question.

Radar is a very powerful tool in determining the position, speed and direction of movement, horizontal and vertical extent of the cyclone. Besides, the radar observations can also be expected to provide more vital information on the shape, size and behaviour of the eye of a cyclone. These features are very important input information for cyclone forecasting, especially in assessing the intensity of the cyclone. An effort has been made here to document the above features of a cyclone that struck the east Godavari coast in November 1996.   The cyclone formed over central Bay of Bengal in the afternoon of 5 November 1996 and intensified into a severe cyclonic storm with a core of hurricane winds next day. The cyclone was tracked by Cyclone Detection Radar (CDR) Visakhapatnam from the initial stage of its formation till it crossed the coast near Kakinada. In this paper, the radar track of the cyclone over sea, along with the size. shape and behaviour of the eye as observed on radar have been discussed. The variation of other parameters like eyewall width, radius of maximum reflectivity and wall cloud height and relationship between eyewall width and eye diameter have also been discussed.

Murray (2020) recently introduced a novel computational lightness model, Markov Illuminance and Reflectance (MIR), a Bayesian observer model that represents input information and prior assumption with conditional random field (CRF) and that can account for many lightness illusions and phenomena. In the original MIR’s inference process, however, it did not utilize all the links in its CRF. Thus, this letter reports that a simple modification to the original MIR’s inference process improves its performance. MIR is a highly extensible model, so I recommend future research use the proposed version to attain further sophistication.
