Voice over Internet Protocol (juga disebut VoIP, IP Telephony, Internet telephony atau Digital Phone) adalah teknologi yang memungkinkan percakapan suara jarak jauh melalui media internet. Data suara diubah menjadi kode digital dan dialirkan melalui jaringan yang mengirimkan paket-paket data, dan bukan lewat sirkuit analog telepon biasa. Dalam komunikasi VoIP, pemakai melakukan hubungan telepon melalui terminal yang berupa PC atau telepon biasa. Dengan bertelepon menggunakan VoIP, banyak keuntungan yang dapat diambil diantaranya adalah dari segi biaya jelas lebih murah dari tarif telepon tradisional, karena jaringan IP bersifat global. IP Phone dapat di tambah, dipindah dan di ubah. Hal ini karena VoIP dapat dipasang di sembarang ethernet dan IP address, tidak seperti telepon konvensional yang harus mempunyai port tersendiri di Sentral atau PBX (Private branch exchange). Dalam penelitian ini mengimplementasikan keterhubungan antar server menggunakan single board computer yang di install sistem operasi Elastix yang bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan prefix untuk antar server dan menggunakan beberapa codec audio. Hasil penelitian telepon menggunakan prefix dan tanpa prefix sebanyak 6 client atau 3 pasng panggilan secara bersamaan nilai packet loss tertinggi pada codec speex dengan prefix sebesar 2,34%. Nilai bandwidth  tertinggi yang digunakan adalah dengan prefix codec PCMU dengan rata-rata 82,3 Kbps dan tanpa prefix 79,3 Kbps. La telefonía de voz sobre el protocolo de Internet IP (VoIP) contempla beneficios en la implementación, permitiendo la comunicación entre usuarios de la empresa, sucursales y demás interesados representando un ahorro; siendo esta tecnología tendencia en comunicación telefónica empresarial y posibilitando la transmisión de voz humana a través de redes de transmisión de datos. Profundizando en esta tecnología y en sus beneficios, se diseña una central telefónica para el Departamento de Sistemas e Informática como modelo piloto en la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander, ofreciendo servicios VoIP. Este modelo es factible de extender a la sede Cúcuta y demás sedes y dependencias dispersas geográficamente como; Los Patios, los CREAD (Centros Regionales de Educación Abierta y a Distancia) y la Seccional Ocaña. En esta implementación de la Central Privada Automática PBX (Private Branch Exchange), se considera aplicar las buenas prácticas para la gestión de servicios informáticos ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) que permita lograr la calidad y eficiencia en las operaciones asociadas a la solución de comunicaciones propuesta. La ventaja de este tipo de tecnología es el ahorro para la organización que la implemente; debido a que la VoIP, se transmite a través de las redes de datos de la organización y es posible enrutar a través de la red Internet servicios estratégicos que se Integren con sistemas de atención a cliente y centros de llamadas de call center, vía soluciones abiertas o propietarias de la institución. Además, el servicio se optimiza con alojamiento en la nube, centralizando la administración, el mantenimiento y la gestión lo cual redundará en los beneficios económicos de bajos costos y fácil escalabilidad. El proyecto desde la perspectiva institucional es importante, puesto que es un sistema de comunicaciones el cual busca mejorar el servicio al cliente y a las personas que intervienen en los procesos organizacionales; dejando de utilizar medios de comunicación personal en actividades laborales.

Voice over IP (VoIP) is a set of software and hardware technologies used for making voice calls over the Internet. VoIP has been massively deployed in corporative environments since voice and data network convergence enables unified communication services while reducing costs. The main component of a VoIP network infrastructure is the private branch exchange (PBX). Nowadays, Asterisk is the most widespread PBX deployed within corporations due to its open access technology, along with its modular and flexible design. The configuration of PBX systems usually relies on multiple configuration files composed of a vast number of parameters that may have an impact on the security of the system. Therefore, the setup of such systems tends to be complicated and prone to errors and usually requires highly specialized human intervention. In this research, a diagnosis platform for discovering vulnerabilities and security breaches in the configuration of an Asterisk PBX is presented. The proposed platform performs both reactive and proactive actions in order to reconfigure and harden an Asterisk PBX. Firstly, the platform reacts after certain events by modifying the configuration of the Asterisk PBX in order to mitigate risks. Secondly, the platform performs several on-demand assessments that also reconfigure the Asterisk PBX to improve overall security. Finally, the functionality of the platform is easily extensible and highly customizable. Extensive tests have been carried out to assess the security and performance of the Asterisk PBX when facing attacks. Results show that the security of the platform increases, avoiding performance degradation when using the proposed platform.

PBX is a telephone communication connection device that is commonly used in buildings that require a telephone connection. However, some PBX products cannot be directly connected to analog telephones, so they require a module called an S2 module. S2 module can converts the port on the PBX to an FXS port that can be connected to an analog phone. Apart from PBX, there is ITG which can be used as telephone line communication. However, ITG already has an FXS port so it does not require additional modules. In Indonesia, there are standard provisions for the use of analog telephone communication devices which have been regulated in SNI for analog telephones. This research examines analog telephone communication devices according to SNI in Indonesia. The results of this test show the TA400 and MyPBX Standard at the impedance value when the on-hook state gets an average value of 64 K?, when the off-hook condition averages a value of 343 ?, the AC voltage test when the call comes on average gets a value of 343 ?. a value of 60 VAC, which means that it meets the SNI standard.

The development of information technology is very dynamic, in particular, actively developing computer networks, which are increasingly used for telephone conversations. Recently, there has been increased interest in IP-telephony technologies, in other words PBX, the use of which can significantly reduce the cost of telephone communication within the company. PBX (Private Branch exchange) is a system of devices that provides automatic connection and support of telephone communication between subscribers of this PBX, who use special end devices — telephones. A virtual PBX is a powerful telephone system that uses an Internet connection as opposed to standard telephone services. A standard PBX is used to transfer calls from the Internet to a public telephone switching network. Virtual PBX can be considered as a more economical version, because no equipment is involved, everything is virtual and hosted by the service provider. Currently, the open communication platform Asterisk occupies almost 85% of the open source PBX market. The Asterisk automatic telephone exchange supports both IP-telephony protocols and traditional communication lines. All basic and advanced PBX functions are supported: voice menu, call recording, call statistics, voicemail, queuing and operator distribution. Video communication is directly supported. The latest versions of Asterisk support call encryption. Asterisk has simple and well-documented interfaces for integration with other systems, making it easy to embed communications in business processes and business applications. There are a large number of various graphical tools for administering Asterisk, both paid and free, among which the most popular is the free WEB interface FreePBX.


A private branch exchange (PBX) is implemented by an Asterisk software. In conjunction with appropriate telecommunication hardware interfaces and network applications, Asterisk is employed to establish and manage the telephone calls between telecommunication endpoints, like customary telephone sets, destinations on the general public switched telephone network (PSTN), and devices or services on voice over internet Protocol (VoIP) networks. A Vocoder may be a system of coders and encoders that is employed to scaleback the bandwidth over the restricted use of bandwidth necessities and restricted capability channels in real time needs. This paper presents Performance of Various VOIP Vocoders using wireshark with Asterisk PBX.

Pada makalah ini, dibahas komunikasi softphone via tunnel untuk sistem voice dengan perangkat PBX (Private Branch Exchange) pada jaringan intranet maupun internet menggunakan alamat IP public. Sebagai alat bantu untuk mengukur QoS (Quality of Service) seperti delay, jitter, throughput, dan packet loss, digunakan perangkat lunak wireshark. Pengujian dilakukan dengan menguji komunikasi dari softphone terhadap unit IP Phone dan terhadap handphone GSM. Pada komunikasi softphone, metode tunneling mampu memberikan keamanan karena dapat mengenkapsulasi dan mengenkripsi saat proses pengiriman data komunikasi, sehingga paket yang dikirim dari softphone dengan protokol SCCP dan TFTP tidak dapat di sniffing oleh perangkat lain pada saat dilakukan di jaringan internet, hal ini memberikan tingkat keamanan yang tinggi sehingga pengguna merasa nyaman dalam proses komunikasi, terlebih pada pengguna dengan tingkat mobilitas yang tinggi karena softphone dapat digunakan dimana saja selama terdapat akses internet.Kata Kunci : SCCP, TFTP, tunneling, softphone, VoIP

This paper carries out a research related to the applicability of VoIP over Cloud Computing to guarantee service stability and elasticity of the organizations. In this paper, Elastix is used as an open source software that allows the management and control of a Private Branch Exchange (PBX); and for developing, it is used the services given Amazon Web Services due to their leadership and experience in cloud computing providing security, scalability, backup service and feasibility for the users.

Manufacturing organizations have become more complex in recent time as a result of technological advances. Communication among production workers operating in an environment marked by increased organizational complexity may require planning for the economically appropriate selection of network channels/media with enhanced productivity. This paper examines traditional and modern communication channels (media) and their comparative advantages over one another in their adoption in manufacturing organizations. In this framework, six media (human messengers, mobile-phones, intranet, fixed-internet, mobile-internet, and private branch exchange [PBX] phone systems) were subjected to analyses using five identified network patterns (all-channel, chain, Y, wheel, and circle) of interactions in manufacturing organizations. Costs, benefits, and the utility of the channels were integrated into the model and utilized to determine the most sustainable media that could enhance productivity in industry. The developed model was implemented using expert data/information collected from the plastic production industry. The results of an availability assessment showed that the enhancement of productivity could be fully achieved by utilizing mobile phones and internet networks, but when considering overall utility, only mobile phones could bring about the desired productivity with 0.59 probability. The findings suggest that the system developed is robust in revealing how productivity might be affected by means of communication among industrial workers.
