Bamboo-oriented strand board (BOSB) with superior physical properties can be used in the furniture industry to alleviate wood shortages. Two types of plug-in connectors were designed in this paper: a splint-type connector and V-type connector. By cantilever bending, corner tension, and compression tests of L-type corner joints of BOSB and wood-oriented strand board (WOSB), the connection performance of the new connectors and six typical connectors was compared. The new connectors function like clamps, do not require that a screw or bolt pass into or through the board, and can be assembled repeatedly. The V-type connectors were more suitable for BOSB, and the joints exhibited the highest ultimate bending moment values (133.9 N·m, 86.8 N·m, 117.7 N·m). The splint connectors were more suitable for WOSB and their ultimate bending moment values (57.1 N·m, 45.3 N·m, 61.3 N·m) were greater than the joints fixed by V-type connectors (50.4 N·m, 35.4 N·m, 46.1 N·m). The results revealed that the connector performance affects the joint strength and that different plates were suitable for different connectors. A joint failure analysis revealed two simple failure modes for the two new connectors.

Syphilis is a disease caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. Congenital syphilis is a contagious disease transmitted from the mother to the fetus. The objective of this work is to show the number of cases of congenital syphilis in Brazil between the years 2009 to 2013. The research was carried out in the DATASUS database[6]. The number of cases of congenital syphilis increased between 2009 and 2013 and the southeastern region had the highest national average in this period. females had a higher number of cases than males and most cases were diagnosed in the age group of up to six days of life. An average of three times as many women received prenatal care as those who did not. Women with a maternal school grade from the 5th to the 8th incomplete grade of elementary school had a higher number of syphilis cases. A greater number of treatments of the mother is perceived in the year 2012. In Brazil, despite the high performance of prenatal care, most cases of congenital syphilis were diagnosed only after delivery, showing errors in the diagnosis of the disease during the performance examination and resulting in late treatments. Education and income are factors that seem to influence the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. It seems necessary to increase the number of treatment partners, thus reducing the transmission of syphilis and consequently that of congenital syphilis. The treatment performed in most cases seems to guarantee the cure of the disease.


The growth of wireless technology has concerned the necessity of Intrusion Detection System (IDS). To pact with a several arising security impacts and other problems in the communication atmosphere. Many of the researchers had developed several algorithms to cope with the malicious things in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Supervision of the network behavior IDS have to run all over the network and all the time on every node. This approach is costly overhead for mobile device and computational resources. These devices are powered by batteries in terms of power. Least Degree for K (LDK), Node Categorization Collaboration among the nodes are accomplished by the implementation of algorithm Node Categorization Algorithm (NCA) and Grid Based Clustering (GBC) algorithms that will reduce the time delay and overhead process. Validation approach of improved Intrusion Detection system is compared with the GBC approaches. The Improved IDS model confesses intrusions and malicious nodes in DSR Protocol.


In the present scenario, reduced part count(RPC) multilevel inverters are become popular compared to traditional multilevel inverters(MLIs). This is mainly due to reduced size and cost and alleviates the issues of more passive components, flying capacitor voltage balancing issues and the requirement of complex switching schemes. Also, the RPC is getting attraction for various industrial and transportation applications. Therefore, in this paper, a novel 17 level inverter is proposed by cascading MLIs with the reduced part count. The complete operation, switching schemes and output are presented to evolve the performance under steady-state conditions using MATLAB software.


The digital modulation methods are being chosen in high data rate systems as Long Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-A. Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) and Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) is the simplest form of the PSK with double carrying capacity when compare to the other traditional techniques in modulation. In conventional method the performance was analyzed in MIMO .In this paper proposed the performance analysis of BPSK and QPSK modulator and demodulator in LTE 4G system models under the Additive white Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading by comparing the Bit Error Rate (BER). From the analysis, compare to BPSK QPSK has good BER. Using the MATLAB Simulink tool Implementation is performed.
