Nitrogen that is excreted through the urine and dung of cattle is an important source of nitrous oxide and ammonia emissions. In Chile, several studies have evaluated nitrogen (N) intake and its partitioning into urine and dung from beef and dairy cattle, however, there are no studies collating all data into one central database, which would allow an estimation of N excretion and its key variables to be developed. The aim of this study was to determine the N partition (milk or meat, urine and dung) and variables influencing the nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) and urinary N excretion of cattle based on a database generated from Chilean studies. The search of studies was carried out using a keyword list in different web-based platforms. Nitrogen excretion into urine and dung was calculated using equations reported in the literature for beef and dairy cattle. Mixed models were used to identify variables influencing the N partitioning. Nitrogen intake and its partitioning into the animal product, urine and dung were higher for dairy compared to beef cattle. For dairy cattle, NUE was influenced by milk yield, the non-fibrous carbohydrates (NFC)/crude protein ratio, acid detergent fiber intake and milk urea N (MUN), while urinary N excretion was influenced by milk yield, MUN and NFC intake. For beef cattle, N intake and its excretion were greater for grazing compared to the confined system, while NUE was greater for confined animals. This database supplies new information on N intake and its partitioning (milk, meat, urine and dung) for dairy and beef cattle, which can be used for the estimation of greenhouse gas emissions from pasture-based livestock in Chile. Additionally, our study supplies new information on nutritional variables determining NUE and urinary N excretion for dairy cattle, which can be used by farmers to reduce N excretion into the environment.

Students are less able to optimize higher-order thinking skills. There are still many students who are confused in working on problems related to higher thinking skills. This paper provides a template for preparing papers for electronic production of the Journal of Education Technology. A well-prepared abstract enables the reader to identify the basic content of a document quickly and accurately, to determine its relevance to their interests, and thus to decide whether to read the document in its entirety. The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, provide a clear statement of the problem, the proposed approach or solution, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Abstract should be 150 to 250 words in length. The abstract should be written in the past tense. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited. The keyword list provides the opportunity to add keywords, used by the indexing and abstracting services, in addition to those already present in the title. Judicious use of keywords may increase the ease with which interested parties can locate our article.

Quem@PUC is an Information Retrieval System available on the Web that allows searching for researchers and professors based on a keyword list of research related terms. It publicizes research and teaching activities from the PUC-Rio community to society in general. The idea is to integrate information from professors from administrative systems, courses offered, and researchers’ Lattes CVs. Data sources are converted to RDF format using domain ontologies, then stored in a NoSQL database that supports native free-text indexing on triple objects. Search results include names, academic papers, teaching activities, and contact links.

AbstractAs some cognitive functions decline in old age, the ability to decide about important life events such as medical treatment is endangered. Environmental support to improve the comprehension of health-related information is therefore necessary. With a small-scale explorative approach, the present survey study aimed at investigating person-environment fit (PE-fit) of support provided during medical consultations. This fit was calculated by assessing the match between aids provided by five medical practitioners during medical consultations and aids most appreciated by the geriatric patients (N = 88). The results showed that the largest discrepancies of used and appreciated aids could be found concerning the opportunity to discuss decisions with relatives, the possibility to take notes, the use of objects, pictures and a keyword list. Female patients indicated a lower PE-fit. These findings highlight discrepancies between the use of specific aids and the wishes of patients and call for thoughtful use of aids during consultations with geriatric patients.

Abstract The growing popularity of keyword analysis as an applied linguistics methodology has not been matched by an increase in the rigour with which the method is applied. While several studies have investigated the impact of choices made at certain stages of the keyword analysis process, the impact of the choice of benchmark corpus has largely been overlooked. In this paper, we compare a target corpus with several benchmark corpora and show that the keywords generated are different. We also show that certain characteristics of the keyword list and of the keywords themselves vary in relatively predictable ways depending on the benchmark corpus. These variations have implications for the choice of benchmark corpus and how the results of a keyword analysis should be interpreted. Analyzing the keywords from a comparison with a large general corpus or the keyword lists from multiple comparisons may be most appropriate for register studies.

Based on the self-built corpus, Disgrace is compared with Coetzee’s other 11 novels with AntConc to generate keyword list and the data reveals that "dogs", as an important keyword, makes a great contribution to theme construction of Disgrace and has a relationship of co-occurrence and isomorphism with man. Dogs are the objects of Lurie’ gaze, and with anti-gaze, he achieves empathy between man and dogs, clarifies the identity of dogs as companion species of human beings, showing the isomorphism between them. Lurie’s becoming dog-man, which is, in essence, a kind of deterritorialization, breaking through the species boundary between humans and animals and demonstrates the animal rights.

The text-mining process starts with a keyword search in text collections. Current text processing technology allows a search technique beyond simple Boolean searches by using natural language queries. Since search engines can recognize any of thousands of keywords and phrases but not the concepts behind the text, it is necessary for researchers to construct an automatic keyword extractor to generate the “Keyword List” for each document. Later, this list can act as the knowledge base to associate unorganized documents to meaningful classes. Failures in identifying the keywords for a certain concept will result in missing values or data for that specific concept.

This study examines the lexical density of classical Malay texts. This study is divided into three main parts, namely, (1) the form of the keyword list in a classic text compared to a current text, (2) 10 keywords that appear as a result of the Simple Math Procedure (SMP) test, and (3) geometrical patterns that are produced to examine the lexical representations of classical texts according to their SMP values. This study uses the SMP as is pre-defined in the LancsBox 4.5 software. This study was conducted on seven classical texts that have been developed in the Korpus Petua Membina Rumah (KPMR) (Tips for Building a Home Corpus). The rationale of this study is to test lexical density as a complex lexical representation in classical texts. In addition, the relation between text and community was also highlighted as a phenomenon of traditional knowledge and feudal thought.
