PT OKT Print Media needs to do a dual transformation to reposition its business to survive in the industry, create a new form of media to reach long distribution distances and to reach market segments that were previously unreachable, as well as to gain new business benefits. The transformation into a Digital Newspaper is carried out by changing the manual marketing process into digital marketing, and creating new html-based media with distribution via data-based and whatsapp. By enriching photos and videos as product development and segmentation that were previously unaffordable, and overcoming the problem of unreachable distribution. There are not many other studies that discuss the digital transformation from physical newspapers to digital newspapers using the Digital Maturity Model (DMM) from TM Forum. Using a 5-dimensional DMM-based questionnaire and 100 samples of customer and employee research, the maturity level of the company's current digital transformation process can be mapped, for the results to be validated by the Commercial Director as the basis for compiling a road map for further improvement. The findings of this study recommend that PT OKT Digital Newspaper uses a digital transformation strategy in the form of Digital Newspaper in order to survive for the purpose of maintaining its existence and adapting to its business environment.

Since the end of the last century media historians have taken an interest in researching the origins and development of media content and its significance for audiences and socio-political realities. This article seeks to combine this approach with digital history. It does so by focusing on the pillarisation debate and by utilising the digital newspaper collection of the National Library of the Netherlands. On the one hand, this article investigates to what extent the ideological background of the Catholic and Social Democratic press is actually reflected in the number of newspaper articles reporting on politics written between 1918-1967, and how any differences can be explained. On the other hand, by testing quantitative methods from the digital humanities, the article attempts to contribute to digital source criticism for historical research.

The categorization of meanings against lexical items that have multiple meanings or that undergo an expansion of meaning often poses problems to language users. This is because language users are often confused and unsure of the true meaning of a lexical item based on the context of its use. Studies on lexical semantics have been extensively conducted but most of the studies conducted focus on the meaning of adjectives, idioms and verbs only. Studies linking word meaning to sexual crime using newspaper data are still considered new and still lacking in number. This study, which uses Prototype Theory, will utilize digital newspaper data, namely Harian Metro, which is expected to fill the existing gaps. This prototype theory is proven to help unravel the cognitive processes involved as the reader tries to understand the true meaning of the word meaning that describes this obscene sexual crime. This study also proves that the use of cognitive semantics by utilizing prototype theory as well as the concept of lexical mapping has helped the process of utterance comprehension take place. All these cognitive processes are used in helping the reader understand the true meaning of a word. This study proves that the lexical used to describe the obscene crime is easily understood by the reader but there are other features that can be used by the author to describe the obscene sexual crime. This aims to further facilitate the reader's understanding of obscene sexual crimes. Overall, the results of this study found that the lexical used is appropriate to the concept of the crime of obscenity.

After the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, mainstream newspaper coverage focused extensively on protesters actions and left little room for narratives that explore the demands, grievances, and agendas of the social movement to end police violence and save Black lives. Over time, coverage of Black Lives Matter protests remained problematic and publicly critiqued. This chapter uses a content analysis of newspaper coverage four years after the death of Michael Brown to reassess press coverage narratives that dominated the protests that followed the police killing of unarmed Stephon Clark in Sacramento, California. Digital newspaper coverage from national, large metropolitan and local papers was analyzed for six months after the March 20, 2018 shooting of Clark. Coverage was also tracked through public social media networks to look for narrative patterns in the most shared coverage.

Unparalleled development in information communication technology (ICT) has led people to live in the virtual world.  Smartphone has made peoples’ life more comfortable as they do purchase goods and services while they are on the move. People likely to buy the products online from candy to newspaper. Purchasing newspaper online is currently in a blunder stage, however, steady growth has been reported in the recent past on the purchase of e-newspaper around the world. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the factors that influence the purchase intention of consumers towards digital/e-newspaper in Sri Lanka. Data were collected for this purpose via a structural questionnaire from those who involve online purchasing either in their home or office in Ampara districts of Sri Lanka. 305 sample response were collected and analysed further with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using AMOS. The results revealed that Website Quality (WEBQUAL) and Online Customer Reviews (OCR) post a significant positive influence on the Online Consumer Purchase Intention (OCPI) of the digital newspaper. Meanwhile, Paid Content (PC) was negatively associated with the purchase intention of the digital newspaper which indicates that consumer was not ready to pay the content if it is charged. On the other hand, Trust was not a significant factor as long as e-newspaper purchase is concerned which is a noteworthy finding of this study unlike in the other context such as B2B market or B2C market. The findings of this provide some useful contribution to the literature of consumer behaviour and practitioners like newspaper companies to make a strategic decision on the future business model for digital/e-newspaper in Sri Lanka.
