This service activity aims to analyze the needs and build a digitalization mindset for MSMEs in Malang City in facing the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Digital marketing strategies can be a bridge for MSMEs to reach a wider target market, so an interpersonal approach is needed to encourage business people to renew targeted marketing strategies. The method of implementing this activity consists of three stages, namely pre-implementation, implementation and post-implementation. The findings on the activity contain interesting facts, including MSMEs in Malang City do not experience capital problems, cash flow uncertainty causes a reduction in production activities, features on online platforms have not been used optimally and difficulties in compiling interesting content that can create interaction with the target market. Significant results were shown by MSME actors after participating in counseling and training activities, namely MSME actors were able to determine an online platform that could support their marketing system and some MSME actors were able to create interactions with consumers through digital activation to the purchase process from consumers. Apart from that, there are still many things that must be improved by MSME actors, especially in improving the quality of human resources and the digital marketing system.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the various structural determinants of revenue and tax effort in Tunisia. We used on the empirical study an ARDL model to estimate the dynamic equation of fiscal potential and its structural and non-structural determinants covering the period of 1996–2017 in Tunisia. The empirical results show that before 2010, Tunisia fully exploited its fiscal potential, and the tax effort was above unity. After 2010 this trend was reversed. Despite the increase in the tax burden, Tunisia is below potential. The results showed that Tunisia is facing dramatic difficulties in mobilizing more tax revenue with this same taxpayer base. As a result, it is called upon to orient reform actions towards two aspects: broadening the taxpayer base to guarantee more tax fairness and adopting an awareness and motivation strategy aimed at greater tax compliance. Tunisia should adopt reforms that aim to eliminate the flat-rate regime and put in place advantages and procedures to facilitate and motivate the transition from informal to formal. Finally, it would be wise to further regulate cash payments and ensure the application of the legal rules governing the matter. In order to optimize the allocation of budgetary resources and ease the pressure on public finances, it would be appropriate, even with a delay in relation to the legislation to fight tax evasion and fraud by improving the human and material resources made available to the tax administration and consolidating its digitalization efforts.

This study explores the structure of motivation in foreign language (FL) reading among 186 university English language learners (ELLs) in China, and investigated the relations between motivation, strategy use, frequency, and proficiency in FL reading. The data were collected from three questionnaires and the reading section of a mock College English Test (Band 4). The data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA), correlation, hierarchical cluster analysis, and t tests. The EFA generated three scales, one for intrinsic motivation (i.e., the Efficacy and Engagement scale) and two for extrinsic motivation (i.e., the Utility Value scale and the Academic Value scale). The correlation analyses showed that only the Efficacy and Engagement scale was significantly correlated with reading proficiency. The cluster analysis identified two groups of students, who differed in the three motivation scales as their motivational profiles. Based on the motivational profiles, differences on strategy use, frequency, and proficiency in English were also observed.

The singularity of human resources and the complex interests in the world of work are a constant challenge for business executives and HR colleagues. While the difference between the performance of a motivated and an unmotivated employee can be up to twice as much at almost the same cost level, the motivation strategy is typically either absent from the business life, or operates on a reactive concept based on an unconscious design. Although the mere presence of motivation and its various levels are less quantifiable in exact terms with direct tools, a performance which is much weaker than possible is measurable in the short and long term, and its negative economic results are clear. The aim of the research is to examine the motivational practices of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the Southern Transdanubian Region. Involving 300 businesses we evaluated the applied wage system, the role of money among the motivational tools, the extent and causes of fluctuation, the system of employee training, the way of performance evaluation, the reasons for underperformance, the importance of motivation, the company motivation strategy and the efforts to retain the key people. The employee motivation can be increase in several forms, but the priority of needs and claims is constantly changing. Updating this motivational matrix is a real leadership challenge, but this effort can pay off multiple times. According to the results it can be stated that the motivation strategy – as a key economic issue – is not given sufficient attention in business practices.

Abstract Very faint X-ray transients (VFXTs) are X-ray transients with peak X-ray luminosities (LX) of L$_X{\lesssim}10^{36}$ erg s−1, which are not well-understood. We carried out a survey of 16 square degrees of the Galactic Bulge with the Swift Observatory, using short (60 s) exposures, and returning every 2 weeks for 19 epochs in 2017-18 (with a gap from November 2017 to February 2018, when the Bulge was in sun-constraint). Our main goal was to detect and study VFXT behaviour in the Galactic Bulge across various classes of X-ray sources. In this work, we explain the observing strategy of the survey, compare our results with the expected number of source detections per class, and discuss the constraints from our survey on the Galactic VFXT population. We detected 91 X-ray sources, 25 of which have clearly varied by a factor of at least 10. 45 of these X-ray sources have known counterparts: 17 chromospherically active stars, 12 X-ray binaries, 5 cataclysmic variables (and 4 candidates), 3 symbiotic systems, 2 radio pulsars, 1 AGN, and a young star cluster. The other 46 are of previously undetermined nature. We utilize X-ray hardness ratios, searches for optical/infrared counterparts in published catalogs, and flux ratios from quiescence to outburst to constrain the nature of the unknown sources. Of these 46, 7 are newly discovered hard transients, which are likely VFXT X-ray binaries. Furthermore, we find strong new evidence for a symbiotic nature of 4 sources in our full sample, and new evidence for accretion power in 6 X-ray sources with optical counterparts. Our findings indicate that a large subset of VXFTs is likely made up of symbiotic systems.

This research has investigated the associations among strategy use, language learning aptitude and motivation and their impact on predicting the development of listening skills of Spanish-Catalan bilingual beginner learners studying Chinese. The participants were 13 Spanish-Catalan bilingual students majoring in International Business and Tourism in a school in Barcelona, taking Chinese as an optional language course for their first year of study. All of them were raised in Catalonia speaking Catalan and Spanish, except for one student originally from Morocco. In addition, all of them had an intermediate level of English (CEFR: B1-B2). The experiment consisted of a motivation questionnaire, Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL), LLAMA_D, a pre-test and three post-tests (i.e. listening tests) in each month during the 3 month research period. The collected data was analysed through the Spearman correlation coefficient and the results of the effects on Chinese listening gains display that motivation was found to be a strong predictor of the development of Chinese listening gains. Strategy use has a significant positive effect, but the very strong correlation was only found in the first stages, the effect decreased later on. Instead, language learning aptitude had a non-significant effect as measured by LLAMA_D.

Article visualizations:

Parungjaya Village itself, education has been very good, it can be seen from the awareness of the community who are aware of the importance of education. However, public interest in higher education is still lacking because they prefer to work. As well as religious activities that are already running actively in every block every week. However, from these activities the residents still lack enthusiasm to participate. Likewise, pottery is one of the superior products. Although in modern times like today, more sophisticated and modern tools have begun to erode. Like utensils made of clay etc. What is very unfortunate for them at this time is the lack of the next generation of pottery craftsmen. Based on the research results obtained, the author of Parung Jaya Village has implemented a comprehensive socialization and motivation strategy.
