The paper is devoted to the questions of metaphor as a linguistic means and cognitive mechanism for creating a humorous effect in Bulgarian media texts. There is a similarity between the nature of metaphors and the humor, the ability of perception which refers to the evolutionary acquisition. The relationship of metaphor and humor is manifested in the comparison of the contradictory and the combination of the disproportionate. The humorous effect created by the metaphor in the media discourse is included in the general context and is the result of deliberate efforts, in accordance with pragmatic, linguistic and cultural settings. Despite the universality of humor and metaphor, the interpretation of knowledge, modeled by a comic metaphor, is governed by the sociocultural factor. The implicit functions of the metaphor fit into the functional and pragmatic parameters of media discourse, making the metaphor an integral part of media speech. The collected material allows us to conclude that there are single comic metaphors in Bulgarian media texts, or metaphors create the humorous effect of a fragment / whole media text based on one or more metaphorical models. Increasingly, in a modern Bulgarian media discourse, a metaphor is implemented as a construct script for the semantic development of the text.

In the present research work, the authors conducted a linguocultural study of English and Russian phraseological units, verbalizing business relationships and compared both linguocultures in the framework of national mental attitudes. Business communication, being the main sociocultural factor of a modern world, supports intercultural communication. In the research work the authors focused on phraseological units used in business communication. The research objective is to identify the types of metaphors in the English-language publicistic texts of economic orientation and to describe the specificity of their realization. The originality of the study is conditioned by the necessity to study the metaphor as an efficient mechanism of communication and a discourse-formative factor. The research findings allow the authors to identify the basic sources of metaphors and to reveal their modifications in economic discourse.

This article studies the authorial figure of Agustín Espinosa from a double perspective. The first focuses on the writer’s ethos in texts dated between the end of the 1920s and the publication of Crimen (1934). The second attends to the different images of the author that emerge as a consequence of the scandal surrounding this book. Both parts of this approach deal with the fissures and continuities between Espinosa’s image and the representations of authorship in his time, with the purpose of highlighting the relevance of the Canary writer for the study of Surrealism in Spain and the sociocultural factor leading to his scarce recognition as one of its most representative voices

The Food Collection Species (EAR) are the set of foods (herbs, fruits, seeds, flowers and animals) that grow naturally and are part of the diet of different cultural groups. These foods allow the conservation of biodiversity, offer the possibility of diversifying the consumption of food and have healthier diets. Mexico is one of the countries with the greatest biological and cultural diversity: biocultural, which has originated the creation and conservation of biocultural kitchens. Of these, rural people, indigenous communities and women cooks, who reproduce their food practices and appropriate their natural riches through them, are primarily guardians. The biocultural kitchens are the essence of the preservation of the food culture. The analysis of this is relevant because through it the common dietary patterns are determined. The present investigation analyzes the alimentary culture between the settlers of Todos Santos Almolonga from the Biocultural Heritage focus, which contributes to the permanence of the consumption of 23 EAR; as well as the assessment and perception. The study was qualitative with mixed methods, for this a survey was carried out to 59 domestic units, two routes to the collection areas, 9 semi-structured interviews were applied, informal talks and activities were carried out to prepare local stews with the EAR The surveys, interviews, field notes and field diary were coded. It was found that there is a food culture based on the consumption of EAR, which is found in families that are engaged in field activities (52.5%), are those who mainly conserve local knowledge, produce-collect and present the highest consumption of collection food. There are two forms of access to these foods: by direct harvesting given their proximity and access and by commercial exchange for their remoteness or laborious harvesting. The forms of consumption of the EAR are primarily raw, roasted and boiled. The two factors that contribute most to the EAR are present in the diet of the inhabitants are: the sociocultural factor, reinforces the part of the collective identity and social fabric, and the health factor, where the population identified its importance from the nutritional, wellness and in the prevention of diseases. In the community, the sociocultural factor in the consumption of EARs on the economic criterion that is the dominant discourse in recent times and that downplays the entire cultural construction and view of indigenous peoples and communities was highlighted.
